2009

JANUARY>>

Perth, January 1 2009, evening
While holidaying in Perth, myself, my sister and her husband, both of whom are geologists, witnessed a UFO sighting on the night of the 1st January 2009. It was a very bright white star-like object which moved straight over us travelling at the speed of an airplane from south to north then disappeared. It left a small orange trail, there was no sound, and no flickering lights like a plane would have.

There have also been two other reports of similar looking objects -- one in Adelaide on the 29th December and the other on the 30th December 2008 in Campbelton NSW -- that I've found.

Thornlands, Thursday January 4 2009
I'd like to tell you about something unusual I've noticed on the mudflats near my place. I've recently taken an interest in mud crabbing, so I've been walking out on the mud flats at the end of King Street, Thornlands, to find a good location. I've done this each day for the past six days. On Wednesday afternoon, I walked out across the dry mud flat to the creek. That night it rained. On Thursday afternoon, my 13 year old daughter came with me. The mud was wet and really hard to walk on (as in heavy and sludgy, sticking to your shoes) due to the rain during the night.

We noticed three circles in the mud, approximately two metres in diameter, each with a tail spiralling away from the circle to the left about two metres long. There were no footprints, tracks or other markings in the mud near these circles. The circles were in a triangular pattern, approximately 10-15 metres away from each other. What was really unusual was that there was a dry patch of mud, approximately 10 metres across and 20 metres long behind the circles, between them and the mangroves. It rained again that night, and the following afternoon when we returned the dry patch was gone and all the mud was soggy again. I question what could have done such a thing, it's very unlikely that rain didn't fall over that small patch of mud.

Wallaville, Friday January 5 2009, 8.00pm
Last night, 5 January 2009, around 8.00pm I was sitting out on our front steps and commenting to my sister-in-law that I hadn't seen the 'resident lights' for a while. Just as I had said that, my 15 year old son wanted to know what this strange light was, as it was travelling from the southwest to the north at a fairly rapid pace. My husband, sister-in-law, two other sons, a neighbour and her girls all saw this light. It was a creamy, white bright light, made no noise (completely silent), travelled at a 'mid-level cloud' elevation and was travelling quite rapidly before it just disappeared as if its lights were turned off. Within about two minutes of seeing it disappear, another bright bluish-white light appeared above us and went in the same direction and disappeared quite near the same spot as the first one. This light was brighter than the first light and it was also silent. My neighbour now believes me and I am happy that others have witnessed them at the same time as myself.

Ferny Grove, January 6 and 7 2009, 7.00pm
Looking west then south-west from north Brisbane (Ferny Grove) around 7.00pm I saw an object that I at first thought was Venus but this was a lot closer. Then it brightened up significantly. Then I thought it was a plane, but this was very much different. I went inside to retrieve binoculars and the light, which had dimmed a small bit, started to move from a direct west position to south west. I called the missus to check with me and she also saw it with the binoculars. She said she saw something weird in the sky during the daytime in the same location the day before, but didn't pay any more attention to it.

Our sighting the next night appeared to be almost like a ice cream cone shape with outer white lights that turned red (not an aircraft). It shot to the left very quickly and slowed down to a stationary position. Then the outer white and red lights disappeared and the cone light shape turned more spherical, changed to reddish colour and slowly moved further westerly, dropping in height and out of visibility about 20 minutes later.

Benowa Waters, January 11 2009, 1.45am
We were visiting a friend in Benowa Waters, all sitting outdoors, when my husband (who is a helicopter engineer for over 30 years now) pointed out what he initially thought was an aircraft with a strange landing light, coming from the vicinity of Coolangatta Airport, which is south of Benowa Waters. The light appeared to be a very bright orange ball, but unlike aircraft landing lights it didn't radiate a beam of white light, and remained in a ball shape. We couldn't see any navigational lights and as the light came closer overhead, we all wondered why it made no sound! Looking at it with the naked eye, it appeared to be about the size of an average thumbnail, held at arm's length.

Our friend brought out her binoculars as the light was heading away in a northerly direction, maintaining a steady speed and altitude. We saw another identical light appear in the south, at apparently the same altitude and on the same flight path as the first light, which by this time (roughly two minutes) seemed to simply switch off.

Through the binoculars, the second light appeared to be a distinct bright orange ball with a light blue-mauve hot air balloon shape above it. But the ball of light was way too big to be a hot air balloon's flame and as the light moved directly overhead, it was apparent that there was no basket below the flame, nor did the balloon shape above the ball of light seem to be attached to it, but it did appear to be a concave envelope of something directly above the ball of light. The hot air balloon shape did not distort, as we expected it to do, because a hot air balloon travelling at that speed most definitely would have.

All in all, we saw six lights fly by at roughly two minute intervals, all maintained the identical flight path, speed and altitude, and all of them appeared identical in shape and brightness. None of them emitted any noise or vapour trails. The bright orange balls of light did not pulsate, but shone with an intense stable brightness, like the heart of an orange flame. My husband guessed that the wispy clouds could have been anywhere between 30,000 to 40,000 feet altitude and the lights were travelling at an altitude above the clouds, because they dimmed, as the moon would do, when they moved behind the wispy clouds. The full moon was clearly visible to the north-west, which illuminated the clouds, but didn't affect the brightness of the lights. We didn't know who to call, thinking air traffic control would probably fob us off with a "weather balloon" or similar explanation. These six lights were definitely not weather balloons, nor any aircraft as we know them. There has been no mention of the lights on any news (radio or TV) channel, so I Googled and found this website. I will add drawings of the lights when I have a few minutes to spare.

Shailer Park, 14 January 2009
I was outside looking up to the sky tonight showing my children the stars. We saw a light travelling across the sky from south to north quite quickly, and at first we thought it may be a plane but it had no other lights like a plane does. Instantly the light changed direction and then travelled from north to south. As we were watching it, it then changed direction again and travelled from west to east. A plane could not change direction like this. The light was quite small and looked as though it was very high in the sky. It looked exactly like a star although it was not a shooting star as it changed direction and did not have the "tail" of light behind it. Could this be a UFO?

Maryborough-Cooloola, 21 January 2009, 8.30pm
A very bright light, as bright as a white street lamp was seen around 8.30 pm on Wednesday 21 January 2009, as it followed my daughter's car along a forest road between Maryborough and Cooloola Cove. It was lower than an aircraft in the sky, but about tree height, and my daughter lost sight of it when she descended a hill at Cooloola Cove. It had followed her all the way from the Maryborough turn-off, only changing course when a vehicle approached her from the opposite direction. Then it came back to follow her. Could it be a UFO or a planet or something else? Have you received any other sightings of it?

Cairns, 22 January 2009, 6.00pm
Could you tell me the best way to find out if anyone saw what my cousin and I saw in the sky over Cairns last night at around 6.00pm till 8.00pm?

My cousin and I were on a balcony looking at what we thought was a very bright star or perhaps a planet. We commented that we have never ever seen a star that bright in Cairns before in our entire lives living there. We were looking out to the west in the sky. It was still very good light because it was only 6-6.30pm.

My cousin said that she had also seen the same star/planet the night before (21/01/09) at about 10.00pm, but she said it was lower in the sky and it was going bright and then dull and bright and dull for about 30 minutes. She took a picture of it with her phone but it didn’t reveal much. She went to sleep not thinking too much about it.

Last night however, my cousin and I sat there from 6.30pm till about 8.00pm and watched as it got brighter and brighter. It never moved and it was very close because clouds were passing it, making it seem that it was a similar distance to what planes fly at, however there was no noise or movement what-so-ever. We noticed that when the cloud did pass the light, the light gave off a beam off light that rotated around and illuminated the surrounding cloud. We watched this till about 8pm and the light got brighter and brighter every five minutes.

We had to go and pickup our food that we ordered and we were gone from the balcony for about an hour. As we were returning home in the car, my cousin peered out the car window and said that she couldn’t see that star. I said it’s probably because we were looking in the wrong direction and we'll see it when we get back home.

As soon as we got home we stood on the balcony and looked to where the light had been and it was gone. The light that we watched get brighter and brighter from 6.30pm till 8pm was no longer there at all when we returned an hour later.

We would like to know if anyone else may have reported seeing this same light over Cairns last night. We are looking to clarify what it was - because now we know it could definitely have not been a star or a planet.

Location unknown, 27-28 January 2009, 10.00pm
Best way to describe these sightings is "moving stars" across the sky.
On January 27th a UFO appeared from south heading north very fast, then seemed to split and one "star" headed west and became as bright as the northern star while the other continued north. One after the other they continued across the sky south to north. Same line, same speed. I thought they may have been satellites, however there were 12 individual "stars" and they appeared at intervals between 10pm - 12 am.
On the 28th a UFO appeared firstly heading south to north, however the line of flight was different to the previous night. Then a second appeared flying west to east. Then five more appeared, flying in the same line south to north. One became extremely bright like the North Star and then faded.

With regard to the speed I know they were travelling extremely fast as I would point to the sky and would have to move my arm constantly to keep up with the object, unlike a plane which moves slowly and steadily.

Brisbane City, 28 January 2009, 9.00pm
I never thought I'd be doing or saying this but last night my girlfriend and I saw a UFO flying over the Brisbane CBD.

We were walking through Southbank at about 9.00pm, past South Brisbane railway station, and saw that a circular shape, pale white in colour, was moving in a perfect straight line in the direction of Mt Coot-tha. It was too low to be 'in space' and not bright enough to be a satellite or a shooting star ... at any rate, it was too big to be these things. I don't know its height, so I can't say how fast it was travelling, but it traversed the horizon in a matter of seconds.

There were no bright lights on it at all, which means (as far as I understand it) it can't be a plane, and it made no noise either.

We were both very shocked and ran to the car and drove home immediately, and I still can't believe I saw what I saw... and the fact that my girlfriend saw the exact same thing makes it even more disturbing.

I'm a paralegal, and will be a lawyer in November - and my girlfriend is a university student from a family of conservative academics... so this was totally out of our realities.

Ipswich, reported January 2009
I saw some UFOs awhile ago but was not able to find your site until today.
I was reading a report on the Courier Mail on UFOs and it said that they look like orange balls. Well if that’s true, I saw at least a hundred of them flying around that night. Some of them were really close to us. They where moving too slow to be a comet. Some of the " orange balls " actually landed on the ground ! I also saw some of them really high up in space but they where moving a lot faster, and this was at night.
I was never a believer of UFOs till I started seeing them every now and again. I also saw another type of UFO, this time it looked different, a lot like the ones you see on TV. I was running one day around my 5km loop and I turned my head to the side because I saw a movement a very fast one, and I saw a faint object in the sky -- it was a disk shape and it had a few lights. And it was a bit higher then a plane would go.
So I have two reports, the disk shaped one and the orange balls. But I'd like to know why were there so many UFOs in one night? I mean there were at least a hundred orange balls in the sky and some landed.

Also this sighting is from Ipswich -- Near Amberley Air Force Base -- so I'm sure some RAAF members saw these objects as well.

FEBRUARY>>

Bulwer, 8 February 2009, 1.15am
On the 8th of February 2009 at 1.15am (Sunday) I was fishing on the beach at the Bulwer wrecks with a friend when a UFO came from nowhere.

It was just an orange flame half a meter to a meter in size that hovered about 20 meters above the water. It seem to float north of the wrecks for about 50 meters until it was in line with us. My friend and I thought it was a flare, but then it went skyward 30 degrees and kept going up, due north with the coastline. It started slowly then covered a fair bit of the night sky in rapid time.

I said to my friend ‘What was that?’ He said ‘I don’t know.’ I said ‘I do, that was a UFO.’

We reflected on what we saw -- it lasted around one to two minutes -- this flame appears from behind the wrecks. floats parallel with the water north for fifty metres, it’s about 30 meters from us on the beach, it’s nearly a full moon, we could see the moon clearly and everything else up and down the coast for about 200 metres. Then there was an orange flame, no sound, no shape, then it rockets skywards. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT !!!!!!!!!!!

I was just enquiring if you had any other reports of what we saw. Would something like this show up on the Brisbane airport radar, as we were across the bay?

Coomera, 24 February 2009,
On February 24 my 9-year old son and 12-year old son saw an object flying way up high. Although I do wear eye glasses it was still clear enough for me to see. It was star like in appearance, travelling as though it was coming from Gold Coast airport way but very unusually high. No flashing lights, just a round light, but way up high. It moved fast considering the distance we were watching it from. I have seen many shooting stars and planes etc and this was no ordinary craft. The unusual part of this experience is that when it was over the ocean it moved upwards further into the night sky and visibility became less and less at one point. It seemed as though it was dimming its lights and there were no clouds above us at the time.

I don’t know quite how to say this but I woke up with a triangle tattoo-like shape on my foot last week. My children and friends are amazed by this. The scary part for me is that I had what I believed to be a nightmare the night before. In my dream I conversed with this grey, big eyes no hair on the brows ,but it seemed to have expressions on its face as we spoke. It was very vivid, scary to look in its eyes -- I really avoided looking at the eyes, but I was not totally afraid at this point. In my dream we spoke but not moving our mouths. It’s as though it knew what I was about to ask. Before finishing my first question which was "Are you responsible for the first triangle on my arm in New Zealand?" he nodded yes and then I asked if they were also responsible for the second on my temple when I lived with my family in Melbourne. He then gave a little grin without moving his mouth. He looked at me and said "You know why we are here.’ His brows then looked as though he was a little annoyed and then said that I was very hard to track down and I don’t recall anything after these last words spoken. I woke my husband with my screams and shouting in the middle of the night, screaming "am I home am I back here now?" The scariest part was waking up with a small triangular shape on my foot.

I never thought this stuff was true and I have always been open minded about these things it is part of our culture as I am from South America. Up until September last year I had never really seen a UFO myself until now.
In the last weeks there have been reports of strange explosions in the Coomera-Canungra areas out in the bush. Locals, police, army, fire brigade and airports were asked and it still remains a mystery as to what the explosions were.

Gold Coast, 26 February 2009, 10:50pm
I live in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, in a suburb called Bonogin. It was 10.50pm, and I just got into bed. Before getting comfortable, I realized I needed more airflow and wanted to make sure my windows were open. I got up and was opening one of my windows when I noticed a bright green flash in the sky above the tree line of a hill. I looked directly at the light and was amazed at the intensity of the colour. It only last for a fraction of a second before vanishing completely. The flash was quite large (approximately the size of a 50 cent piece) considering the distance from me (that I can only estimate to be at least a kilometre). So here I am standing at my window, perplexed, unaware of what I just saw. I ended up standing there for at least another minute looking into the sky where this light had been only moments before. I failed to see anything else and I was initially sceptical that my eyes were playing tricks on me. Part of me was thinking it could have been lighting, however logically it didn't add up. It couldn't have been lightning for several reasons; a) it was a clear night b) it was bright green and c) it was circular in shape.

MARCH>>

Nerang - Gold Coast hinterland, QLD, March 4 2009, 7.00pm
Four witnesses observed a bright light high up in the sky approximately 50 times the size of a star. Over the next 30 minutes it descended vertically into the Nerang Forest and a glow could be seen where it settled in the trees. The object soon shot a subtle green hollow beam of light, like a "green tunnel", across to the neighbouring suburb of Highland Park. Immediately another light flash responded from the other side of the forest from the Mt Nathan area. This light was described as "bright as a football stadium light". This flash only lit up for two seconds. Ten seconds later the first object split into two light sources while still low in the forest, then reintegrated, became brighter and disappeared.

The caller was shaken by what she saw and said she had no interest in UFOs until she had this sighting. She's 33 years old and two of the other witnesses were her husband and mother. The caller stated there was no housing in the Mt Nathan area so she was unsure what explanation could be found for the bright secondary flash of light. Her own home backed onto the Nerang forest. The entire incident occurred over a two hour period. The family have seen these lights five times since the 18th of February doing similar things and feel quite unsettled by the latest incident on March 4.

Virginia, Brisbane, QLD, March 3 2009, 5.45pm
A cyclist riding on Sandgate Road observed a metallic spherical object about 2 o'clock in the sky on his right. It was at a 45 degree angle and shimmering. He estimated it was over the suburb of Wooloowin, very high about the height of a plane, then disappeared.

Mount Gravatt, 4 March 2008, 4.00pm
A man was driving on the southeast freeway and as he approached the Logan Road exit he saw a glassy clear object in the sky. He observed it for 5 to 6 seconds. It had no obvious shape.

Algester, 6 March 2008
A man reported that he had taken three digital photos that recorded ‘orbs’ when examined later. The weather was clear with some high clouds and he was looking to the NNE while taking his photos. The camera was set on ‘Flash’.

(The incidence of ‘orbs’ is much greater when digital cameras are used with the ‘flash’ setting on. When small water droplets or dust particles are illuminated by the camera flash close to the camera lens, the particle is illuminated strongly, and the reflected light entering the camera forms an out of focus circle which is far bigger and dimmer than the image of the particle would be if it were in focus; when it would be much smaller and brighter.)

Cooroyba, 10 March 2008, 10.00pm
A woman reported seeing lights moving in the sky over a period of two weeks at around 10.00pm. This activity was visible to the north in the direction of Boreen Point above and between the nearby tree-line. The details are consistent with a ground based light display.

Caboolture, QLD, March 12 2009, 9.00pm
The caller was a 13 year old girl who was in bed when she saw something fall from the sky. It was bright green, fluorescent and slowly started coming towards her glass window. Her room started to go dark and she saw a figure with 2 arms outside. It got darker then slowly started retreating. Then it spiralled like a tornado. The object became brighter like it exploded with sparks coming from it. 30 or 40 seconds later she saw a figure, which disappeared.

Sanctuary Cove, Friday March 13 2009, 7.15pm
I am reporting this sighting which my dad and brother saw. My brother and my dad dropped my brother’s girlfriend off home, and they were driving down Santa Barbra road. The sky was cloudy and had an orange tinge in the clouds, and my brother and my dad thought they saw some bats fly over a street light, though they both said they looked far too big to be bats. Then they saw these lights just appear in the sky, spiralling around in a circular formation like a light show, a really big light show. My dad drove really slow around the roundabouts just to see them. The area they were covering was far too big to be the Friday night football which was on, and the football was in Brisbane that night. Then, in three seconds, all the clouds were vacuumed away into the distance heading west with the lights. It was amazing he said, it was like a vacuum cleaner sucking a fog like substance out of a jar. There were people in the car behind them which might have seen this, and the object/s remained in the distance for around another ten minutes as my brother and my dad were driving down Helensvale Drive to go home. My brother and my dad were freaked out but yet amazed by that sighting. No sound was heard.

Sunshine Coast, 17 March 2009, 7.05pm
A man observed a strong white light to the SW in the direction of Noosa Heads. It was out to sea over the Sunshine Beach area at an elevation of 45 degrees, possibly at 3000 feet, in a clear sky. It moved to his right then seemed to shoot away and disappear. The sighting lasted about 30 seconds. He emphasized the he ‘knows planes’.

Redbank Creek near Esk, QLD, March 17 2009
The caller witnessed a bright white circular light emitting from the nearby creek. He first saw it emanating through the trees on the side of the creek. His wife woke up and she saw it too. The light was 2 metres in diameter and seemed to be hovering above the water. It moved down the creek for 50 metres, paused, then moved back to its original position. Then it moved in the opposite direction and he watched it for 20 minutes before it disappeared.

Six years ago, between 7 and 9pm one night, he and his wife were at a BBQ with four other couples. They all saw an orange light in the sky that hovered over them for a few seconds before disappearing to the north "faster than a speeding bullet".
On another occasion they were returning from Ipswich and saw five black helicopters being followed by a white light that disappeared.

On another occasion while driving to Toogoolawah a bright light descended behind their vehicle, lighting up the interior of the car. It stayed momentarily then vanished. The light made no noise.

When he was three years old he was "sleepwalking" and stumbled across a presence in a shroud. It told him to "never to be afraid". When he was going through a divorce he kept hearing a voice that repeatedly said Asha-Hama. He later discovered it meant Shaman or Indian Spiritual Man.

Labrador, Gold Coast, QLD, March 18 2009 9.00pm
A man and his aunty were sitting outside when they saw a single white light in the sky. It moved across the sky in a few seconds, then did a sharp right angle turn, then headed west. The object seemed to go faster once it changed direction, disappearing extremely fast. It moved much faster than a plane or jet, no flashing lights, no sound.
Two years previously in the early morning while driving on Nappa Road near Seaworld on the Gold Coast, something caught his attention over the ocean. It appeared to be a bubble of light, 50 metres across. It was not transparent but appeared like an apparition. It was there, then it was not there. He only caught sight of it for a few seconds.

Berrick (Gippsland) VIC, March 19 2009
The caller observed an orange light moving slowly and intelligently near Hallam Road. It emitted no noise and travelled at the height of a small plane estimated to be less than 2000 ft. Parts of the light dropped off but the size of the light did not diminish. It repeated this dropping off, again without the diminishing of the size of the light. He had seen exactly the same thing in 1995 at Tooralgan and 1997 at Narrewarren. He wondered if it had anything to do with the earthquakes in Melbourne at the time.

Pratten, Saturday March 21 2009, 12.15pm
I saw a blue ball of light 12.15pm sat 21/3/09 at Pratten, Qld. I thought someone was shining a light through my bedroom window. It lit up my room when I looked out the window a light blue ball of light was shooting through the sky
and disappeared into the atmosphere.

Brisbane, Sunday March 22 2009
I found an anomaly in an image that I took just as a storm was about to hit Brisbane.

I work as a photographer and have taken thousands of images over the years and I have never seen this particular anomaly.
I shot two frames very close together and then two frames a few minutes later after noticing the anomaly. The second frame taken within seconds of the first shows hardly any of the white circles and the other shots have none.

The significant thing about the image as far as I'm concerned is not so much the circular shapes that make the image anomalous but the single fireball type object. The glowing object appears to have a vapour trail or some kind of tail. There is also a white meteor like streak going up that is interesting.

To me, this photograph is of note, simply because the many circular anomalies tend to make it easier to overlook the solid looking object that is harder to dismiss. What I mean to say is that the anomalies act as misdirection.
I checked the lens and it was perfectly clean as the other frames attest.

What do I think the circular apparitions are?

They look like lens flare but are not like any I have ever seen. They certainly are produced by something that is visible to the digital camera's sensor. It reminds me of induction before a lightning strike, some kind of electrical effect, somehow the camera is picking up this field. The white circles appear to be on top of the image, rather than in it. But the fireball like object seems to be in the image.

I adjusted the curves and level to try to see more detail, which revealed that the circles contain differing luminance and chrominance values and in some instances appear to be positioned behind the buildings and are therefore much larger.
All I can say is that I have never pointed the camera at the sky a got such a mysterious image! I really think I've captured some kind of phenomena unknown to me at least!

Dalby, Saturday March 28 2009, 8.30pm
Glancing out my lounge room window on Saturday 28th March 2009 about 8.30pm (an approximate) I saw a bright orange coloured light moving across the sky. It was low enough to tell there were three lights in a triangular shape that emanated a bright but unusual orange light. My partner also saw the light and we went outside to observe it for about five minutes. The light travelled north-east and rose higher so that it became a very small light and eventually went from view. It was the first time I have ever seen anything like this.

Logan Village, March 29 2009, QLD 8.00pm
A man observed a white object moving south west while travelling along the Waterford Tamborine Road. It was moving erratically and appeared to be the size of a star but brighter. He observed it for 20 minutes.

Sovereign Island, QLD, March 30 2009 10.00pm
A security guard was looking towards Paradise Point from Sovereign Island when he saw two yellow-orange lights one behind the other. They were flying low, about the height of a small plane, moving north in a straight line. The objects seemed to remain an even distance apart. At the same time he witnessed the objects he could smell a strange odour like crushed tree leaves but he didn't know if it was related. There were two witnesses and the person reporting the sighting had been in the military.

APRIL>>

Ipswich, QLD, April 1 2009 9.30pm
The witness observed what she thought was a plane with no lights, moving at high speed. The object was cylindrical - cigar shaped - and was silent. It was moving faster than a plane and was lost to view behind trees and the street light.

Townsville, Saturday April 19 2009, 3.40am
On Saturday the 19th April 2009, I was outside on my back deck here in Townsville , having a cigarette and looking at the stars when I noticed a very huge object that blended in with the colour of the sky (dark grey). This object appeared to be a V-shape and was just gliding very slowly, lower than plane height, and it had rows of very dim grey blue-coloured lights around the V shape. The time was 3.40 am. I watched for about 50 seconds before it disappeared behind some trees. It had no noise associated with it. I waited for about five more minutes but did not see it again, however I did see a small light aircraft coming in low to the airport and could hear that easily.

Brisbane, Monday April 20 2009, 1.30am
I’m a nurse and had just finished my shift. I was at home looking outside and there was a big bright white light. I was surprised because the moon is not in this position at 1.30am. I went onto the BOM site (weather bureau) to check the weather to see if clouds were in the area and it was clear. The light was bright white and stayed around for about five minutes or so. Then it disappeared. I thought it might be cloud coming over that’s why the light disappeared.

Redcliffe, April 19 2009
I’ve been hearing reports of UFO sightings in Redcliffe Queensland on the 19th of April 2009 at night. Numerous people have told me that they saw large round bright orange objects flying through the sky. From looking around the net I see around the world people seeing the same thing as described.

Bowen Hills, Friday April 24 2009, 6.25pm
Whilst walking to my car heading west down Taylor St, I looked up and noticed a boomerang-shaped object. It was very faint and had approximately six or seven lights in a wide 'V' formation. The object travelled from north to south and would have passed just to the west of the CBD. The boomerang shape was barely visible against the dark sky. The sighting lasted 10 seconds as craft went behind houses in the street. The street was quiet and dark (no cars), and no sound could be heard from object. No distance, height, speed or size was discernable as there was nothing to reference it against. I just got the impression it was flying at normal airplane speeds if it was aircraft sized.

Chermside, April 25 2009, 9,00am
On Anzac day of 2009, at around 9.00-10.00pm, (can’t quite remember) a friend and I where in a backyard in Chermside, Brisbane. We looked up to see a very large boomerang-shaped craft flying fairly high, well above the light patches of cloud. It made no sound at all and was flying a lot faster across the sky than a normal aircraft would. We later compared it with a normal plane’s speed and size, and it confirmed that we saw something strange, it was a bit scary.

Burpengary, QLD, April 30 2009, 8-9.00pm
Three witnesses were looking west when they saw an egg-shaped ball moving faster than a plane across the sky. It was soundless as it moved then stopped and diminished to the size of a star.

Caboolture, QLD, April 30 2009, 4.00pm
A photographer was driving north towards the Grant/Walker roundabout when he saw a silvery metallic object about 2 km away. It appeared to be 30 to 50 meters high, very small and gave the appearance of a foil balloon. He kept watching it and it was still there when he got to the roundabout. It turned and its surface became a matt grey where before it had been bright and shiny. It seemed to be moving to and fro 500 yards away. He stopped, got out of his vehicle and watched it for a minute while it was stationary. It now looked like a flat rectangle tapered at one end. Its distance was hard to judge. It moved away to the SE and disappeared over the horizon. The witness reported the sighting to the Caboolture police.

MAY>>

Sydney, NSW, May 3 2009, 5.40pm
A man was on his way to a supermarket when he saw orange lights in the sky in a triangular formation. They appeared to be high up and far away. He stopped his vehicle and noted that the formation seemed to be moving away along his line of sight. One by one they faded into the sky. When seen at their closest, the lights were orange and brighter than the morning star. They moved W to NW, their line of sight 45 degrees over Five Dock. The lights were observed for about 10 minutes in a clear sky.

Hodgson Vale, May 6 2009
pretty sure I saw a UFO last night (6th May 2009) in the skies over Hodgson Vale, which is located about 10 minutes beyond the outskirts of the Queensland city of Toowoomba.

I was carrying groceries in across the paddock from my car to my cottage at about 7pm. It was quite dark, and since I don’t have an outside light, I was using a torch to guide my way.

As I walked across the yard towards my cottage, I noticed some lights in the sky approaching me from the southwest. At first glance I took the aircraft to be a small plane, but a few idiosyncrasies caused me to go and stand out in the dark side yard to get a better look.

It was too dark for me to make out the aircraft itself – it was only its lights I could see. If the object had been a small plane (and it would have been a VERY small plane – about the size of a car), the three white lights I saw would have been located on its tail and two wing tips – i.e. they were arranged in a triangular formation. However, it was the red light that ran from side to side between the two front white lights that first alerted me to the fact that this might be something other than your average Cessna.

The second indicator that this might be something unusual was the fact that it was completely silent. There is a small aircraft owner in our neighbourhood, and there is no mistaking when he flies over because his aircraft’s engines make a lot of noise. This was obviously no normal aircraft because I could hear nothing, despite the solitude and quietness of my rural location, even when the object flew directly over me. If I hadn’t noticed the lights it would have flown over me without my ever knowing it was there.

The third indicator that this object was out of the ordinary was how slowly it was moving. I could have kept up with it at a brisk walking pace. Any normal aircraft would not have been able to maintain such a slow pace without dropping out of the sky.

As I stood watching it, the aircraft slowly flew directly overhead quite low – at about the height of a two-story building. I had to put my head back to look up at it as it slowly cruised overhead. I looked straight up into what would have been the belly of the aircraft, but still couldn’t make out a shape, which was also unusual – even at night, you can normally make out the shape of a plane flying overhead. I can only assume that it must have been made of a very dark coloured material. Strangely enough, I felt no fear – only curiosity.

Another odd thing happened at the same time as the vehicle was moving overhead. Off to the west, there was a roar of aircraft noise that lasted for several minutes, and sounded like jet engines.

The vehicle continued on its slow course, away over the paddocks. It took a long time to eventually disappear from view – maybe 15 minutes or so. It headed towards a small hill in the next paddock, hovered above it for a minute, before slowly disappearing from view behind it.

I watched for a while longer, and when it didn’t reappear went inside. I rang a friend of mine who flies small aircraft, and related my experience to him. To his knowledge, there are no small planes that have moving lights of the type that I saw. About 15 minutes later, I once again heard the roar of jets in the west, and ran outside to look, but couldn’t see anything. The following morning, a work colleague who lives at East Greenmount, which is located a further 5-10 minutes further out than where I live, mentioned how she and her husband had wondered about the loud jet activity between 7-7.30 pm, which they had put down to RAAF manoeuvres.

Since that night, the object has reappeared between 6.30 and 7.00pm every night, from behind the hill where it disappeared. It is a little distance away, so I can no longer visualize clear details, but it is still silent, moves very slowly, and I can make out the white lights and the moving red light (i.e. not flashing on and off like the tail light on a plane will do, but actually moving). Last night, a friend of mine drove further up my road for a clearer view, and actually saw TWO of the aircraft - once again silent, slow moving, and with the strobing red light.

Carina, Thursday May 14 2009, 2.15pm
At about 2.15 pm yesterday Thursday 14th May, I noticed a Virgin aircraft travelling south from the north, standing up on its left wing before straightening up to the approach to the southern end of the airport. I thought that was a bit odd, so I looked again. Away up above, and a little behind to the northwest, was what appeared to be a glider and a very bright silver colour that seemed odd, so I watched it intently and could see that it was a little different in shape and was looping about at the same height. Then I realized a glider would not be allowed to be in the approach to the airport. I ran up the stairs to get my camera, but before I went inside the house, I stopped for another look. The object was nowhere to be seen. I assessed it to be about a kilometre up, and maybe somewhere near the Bulimba reaches of the Brisbane River. I also felt that the Virgin plane must have flown under it. How could it have completely disappeared in 3 seconds in a cloudless sky without falling out of the sky?

JUNE>>

Hervey Bay, QLD, June 16 2009, 8.30pm-9pm
Five witnesses observed a large object in the north west sky emitting red and green lights. It started to move doing right angle turns and spiraling against the stars. The witnesses watched the movements for two hours.

On another occasion the callers son witnessed an object “like a photocopier light or a white fluorescent tube” fly sideways across the sky. He couldn’t guess the altitude as it disappeared over the horizon. He saw it in total for ten seconds.

Tweed Heads, Gold Coast, QLD, June 18 2009 1.30am
A man observed a green light like a star moving east towards Coolangatta Airport. It then moved off like a shooting star to the west over the horizon in 1.5-2 seconds. A couple of weeks later he saw a washed out green light in the sky. Then on the 25th July at 10.15pm near Murwillumbah while heading northbound he observed a heavy fog and the same green light speed over the mountains.

Albion, Sunday 21 June 2009, 2.50am
I've tried satisfying my curiosity on the internet but I cannot explain this myself. Coming through Albion/Ascot area (Brisbane) tonight at roughly 2.50am in a light rain shower I witnessed one of the strangest things I have seen in my life. There was a brief burst of rain, typical of the squally showers we get around here. I have been a meteorological nut since I was a kid so I know a lot about weather.

In the middle of this the sky suddenly went green, spreading quickly from the east to the west. Exactly as this happened the street lights went out, all that was left was the residual orange glow of the lights that had been on for hours. I observed that the residential lights still were on. About five seconds later we drove towards a set of traffic lights and they came back on, were red and then immediately went green.

That is the entirety of what happened but I cannot find a reasonable explanation of it. I have the Energex lightning tracker on my computer, and the BoM radar, and I know upper atmospheric lightning and green clouds (such as alto stratus cloud that can sometimes be witnessed), but I have never seen anything impact on both ground-based clouds and electricity at the same time. I've never seen lower level green cloud and I've never seen electricity affected by anything that hasn't registered as a ground strike on the Energex lightning tracker.

Sunshine Coast, 19 June 2009, 10.05am
I took this image [centre right] on the 19th June at 10:05am. The first object appeared moving and flashing brightly, very small and seemed only several kilometres high, moved in bursts as it flashed. It lasted only five seconds and faded quickly.

The second object appeared possibly closer, brighter and lasted for longer so I ran to get the camera. When I got the camera ready I could no longer see any object so took a wide angle shot and the pic attached is from the right lower corner of that larger image.

The position is consistent with the path it was on along the power lines when I saw it. There is a lot of air traffic around this area and a lot of bird life, what I saw was very different to those. Not sure if it relates to the streaking objects seen north of Gin Gin at 6.00am the same day.

Gilgandra, NSW, Monday 22 June 2009, 7.00pm
This evening around 7.00pm at Gilgandra NSW I was observing the skies whilst having a cigarette outside. Looking to the southeast horizon I spotted what I thought was a star of average size. The sky was cloudless and I watched the star move in a northerly direction. At first I thought 'oh! a falling star,' but it remained moving northwest at a speed faster than a plane and higher than they fly. It had no unusual colour like planes emit. I continued watching it and it headed west then north for around 10 or more seconds and definitely was not fading or decreasing in altitude. I raced inside to ask my boyfriend to come see it and or explain it, but by the time he came outside and looked to the northwest it had disappeared from view.

I felt totally sure this was a very fast and intelligent form of travel craft/UFO as it changed direction swiftly and covered a huge area with seeming ease and accuracy. I felt privileged to witness this craft, whatever it was, and am not fearful of it.
So, it started in the southeast, heading north, then northwest and it totally confused me due to its strange direction. It covered a huge area with such ease. I hope it was what I believed it to be and look forward to seeing another in the future. It has seriously convinced me that there are intelligent craft in our skies.

Carindale, Brisbane, QLD. June 23 2009, 11.00pm
Four witnesses observed a large bright yellow star with a tail in the western sky. Then they observed another light in the north east which, on gaining closer proximity appeared to be six flashing lights. They moved low and slowly across the sky at tree height and were observed for 45 seconds to a minute.

Dubbo, NSW, Wednesday 24 June 2009, 4.20pm
It was late afternoon, 15 km east of Dubbo (NSW) and two "craft" were seen flying from the northwest to the southwest. It was a clear day, bright blue sky and sunshine, and two people witnessed two crafts moving at high speed from left to right. They stopped, sun shone at angle and we saw a round silver "thing" with a very short "tail". One of the objects disappeared, the other could not be seen anymore due to trees. Question: what was that!!!!!

JULY>>

Alice Springs, July 15 2009, 6.00pm
Around 6.00 pm on Wednesday evening , 15 July, myself and my girlfriend were riding on our motorbike out of Alice Springs, heading south. We noticed a white shape, like a bright cloud, over in the westerly direction, toward the Pine Gap area. I joked and said "it must be visiting the Americans!!" We watched for about 15 minutes, we stopped and took these two photographs with an 8 megapixel camera and a zoom lens. When we got home we zoomed in again and these are the photos.

Forestdale (Logan Qld), July 21 2009, 00:57 am
I happened to stare outside from my room for some reason, (I might call it a very brief nightwatch and I am a member of UFO Research Queensland Inc), and noticed a very bright white light. It seemed to be about 3-5mm in diameter, and was at a direction of NNE at a low angle. The height was much lower than commercial planes. There was no noise and no flashing lights. Then the light moved slowly upward for about 1cm and changed direction slightly to left and disappeared. It lasted for less than 10 seconds. I kept monitoring for about 30 seconds but never saw it again. The sky was clear. This was my second sighting in my life.

Paddington, July 23 2009, 12.20am
I saw a very bright white/yellow light around a kilometre away from me at my home in Paddington Brisbane tonight at about 12:20am. It stayed still over the Auchenflower or Milton area for about 30 seconds, as I observed it from my balcony. It had rays of light shining from the main point and that weird red and blue colour (the one you get in 3-D glasses) formed. It then started slowly moving to the west behind some trees and started coming towards me. It quickly came closer to me until it was about 100-200m away from the trees blocking my view and then most of its lights cut out. It then travelled SW behind the Rosalie Marist School hill. I could see a different shade of black around it (saucer?) and no constant flashing light like all planes and helicopters are supposed to have here aren't they?

AUGUST>>

Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast, QLD, August 1 2009, 8.30pm-9.00pm
A woman saw two red lights traveling from the north west across the sky side by side. They then seemed to flip so they were one above the other as they continued to travel remaining the same distance apart. She observed them in total for four minutes as one faded out, then the other.

Townsville, QLD, August 2 2009, 2.00am
A family was sitting around a camp fire when directly above the group appeared three disks. One took off at great speed and two moved in a different direction but stayed in view. The third went in the opposite direction to the first leaving a white trail. The witness has had a number of sightings. The witness is indigenous to Australia and waiting to be admitted to train in healing work.

Boodua (Qld), August 8 2009, 6.20pm
On 8th August 2009 I was out in a paddock on a farm at Boodua, Queensland photographing an echidna. At approximately 6:20pm, while waiting for the echidna to move I glanced up at the stars. While looking near the Southern Cross a star of similar brightness to the major stars of the Southern Cross appeared to move. I steadied myself in case I was wobbling around but the star continued to move in an arc nearly around the top of the Southern cross (the left arm of the cross this night). The angle of the arc increased and as this occurred the 'star' dulled and then winked out of view. I would describe the movement as similar to using a compass to draw a circle. There was no apparent noise associated and no flashing lights. In total I may have seen it for all of ten seconds.

Southport (Gold Coast), August 9 2009, 6.25pm
As my husband and I were sitting on our back steps when we saw a bright star like object moving at plane speed going from north to south. We watched it for several minutes as it passed over our house with no sound or flashing lights. All of a sudden it went dim and disappeared, which is the only reason my husband doesn't still think it’s a helicopter.

Cloncurry (far west Qld), August 9 2009
I would like to make a report on a light that has been in the sky since the 9 August 2009 North West of Cloncurry.

The night 9 August, a light of flashing red and green lights was on the horizon, below the stars. It dropped vertically down very suddenly and stopped, and still the lights were flashing. It was very clear. It was doing a north-south east-west movement, for a time of about one minute in which it appeared to be like two lights together going around each other. Myself and a friend were watching it, from a house in Cloncurry and kept watching it till 3.30 am. The light slowly moved to the left vertically upwards. Every half an hour it would move further vertically and stop for half an hour.
Each night it appeared further away from where we watching. It always appeared in the same area every night but further away.

I phoned the weather station in Mount Isa and they were not able to pinpoint what it was. They suggested it may be a light from the mines or an army activity. The lights we saw were very clear and bright on the first night. Every night it has appeared doing the same configurations, but further away.

On the 25th of August, myself and three witnesses saw the light moving to the left from a motel in Cloncurry. Steady but slow, and on a horizontal position on the horizon.

Nerang (Gold Coast), August 10 2009, 7.23pm
I observed a number of orange-red UFOs to the west. They didn't move much at all but faded to darkness one at a time over a period of less than a minute.

Gold Coast QLD, August 12 2009, 7.15pm
A woman observed three round orange lights moving overhead to the south. They had come from the east making no noise and were “pretty big”. Two of the lights were seen for about 1 minute the other light stayed about 5 minutes. They moved in line formation in a clear sky.

Forestdale, August 13 2009, 10.03pm
I was putting a rubbish bin on the kerbside for collection when I saw an orange light (about 1-2mm in diameter) in the north east. It was visible for less than 10 seconds, so I could not manage to record (video camera) it on my mobile phone. At the same time there was a small airplane, very possibly from Archerfield airport, flying near over the house, so there may be another report on this issue.

Cairns, August 24 2009, 7.00pm
We live in Cairns North Queensland, and at about 7.00pm on Monday 24th August 2009, my husband and I were sitting eating dinner with our family when the phone rang. It was our neighbour, who told us to quickly go outside and have a look up in the sky. My husband ran out and then yelled back at us all to come and see.

What I witnessed as well as about ten others in the neighbourhood were six star-like lights in the sky that were bigger and brighter than Venus. They appeared in a pattern like that of a hexagon, and my father stated that he thought it might be the Southern Cross. At the very moment he said this they moved and changed formation to then appear as two lines of three objects each.

Over a period of approximately 25 to 30 minutes, we watched each of these objects continue to change formation, moving sometimes with extreme speed and then other times slower, but at the same time faster than any aircraft we have ever seen. No noise was emitted from these objects. Most of the time they moved in pairs but as a team of six. One appeared to be a little lighter and at one point this object appeared to move up to the top object and almost merge. They also appeared too far into the atmosphere to be an aircraft or space junk, simply because they looked as though they were putting on a show for us. We called the Air force, the Navy, the police and the local airport to see if there was anything unusual occurring at this time, and were told there was nothing on radar. We are at a loss to be sure about what these six lights that seemed to mimic stars actually were, and wonder has anyone else seen such an event recently.

Thornlands, Brisbane, QLD, August 28 2009, 6.50pm
A man and his family observed a light brighter than the stars coming from the SW. It looked like a white ball moving at less than aeroplane height. There was no sound and the object changed to an orange colour as it faded out while moving away. The sighting lasted about 3 to 4 minutes, the sky was clear and the object moved in a straight line at a steady speed.

Tallebudgera (Gold Coast Hinterland), August 29 2009, 7.15pm
I live right up the back of Tallebudgera Valley on the side of a mountain. About two hundred metres further up from us the road ends in a dead end, a horseshoe shape of towering cliffs.

Around 7.15pm on Saturday 29th, I looked out the back windows that face the cliffs, and noticed a really bright light coming over the top of the mountain from the south. We often have planes flying around as Coolangatta airport is not very far away, though we don't usually see planes coming over from the south. I immediately thought it was a plane or helicopter, but then noticed it had none of the blinking lights they have. I opened the window to see if I could hear it, but could hear nothing. It seemed to be travelling in my direction, so ran downstairs and outside to see if I could see what it was or if I could hear it once I was out there. I noticed that the closer it got to me, the smaller and fainter it seemed to get, then realized it wasn't that it was getting closer, it was going straight up. I watched it for probably 30 seconds -- it wasn't fast, just steady, until it just seemed to change from a bright white light to a red glow, then it completely disappeared.

My husband came outside and we sat there for about half an hour – we saw two satellites and a shooting star, none of which resembled what I had seen. We discussed all the things we thought it could have been -- he suggested a flare, but it wasn't fast, just a steady speed. It didn't go up then come down, it wasn't a plane, no blinking lights at all, not a satellite, too close, too big and too bright, it was just as bright and big as Jupiter is at the moment, but moving, and as I said, went straight up until it disappeared.

SEPTEMBER>>

Cedar Grove near Jimboomba, QLD, September 4 2009
Has been seeing UFOs for years. Seeing object in same place for last 2 months. Moving white light changes to red, dims then returns to original position in a flash.

Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast), September 5 2009, 9.00am
This morning (Saturday) around 9.00am, an usual object was seen flying directly out to sea from Surfers Paradise. I put the binoculars on it and it had a silvery side and a dark side it almost resembled a chair.

Elliminyt (Vic), September 9 2009, 10.25pm
I wish to report a UFO sighting at about 10.25pm in the SSE sky at Elliminyt, near Colac Victoria. This is not the first time I have seen this. One night last summer I also saw the same thing. It was a very bright light in the sky, which moved around, up, down and sideways. It changed colours from blue to red and white. I didn't take a photo, it was so far away I don't know that it would show as anything but a bright light anyway, but it had my attention for a good 15 minutes, I went inside so I don't know how long it stayed around.

Undisclosed location, NSW, September 15 2009
A 30 year old male was referred to us. He reported he has seen a [space]ship at age 13 or 14. He’s had reptilian-like beings disturbing them and had a panic attack after the first time he saw them. He feels hostile intent from them but they couldn't abduct him like the greys do for some reason. The reptilians he’s seen have dog like features, long ears against their head and stand upright with dog like legs. He’s had many abduction experiences with the greys and has memories of seeing himself naked on a table having blood tests. He feels angry and violated by them.

On one occasion he was on a ship and saw someone sitting on a "throne" like he was the commander. He saw many people like South Americans or Mexicans in prison cells hooked up to machines that seemed to be sucking the life out of them that powered the ships. The people seemed drugged and not coherent and held captive like prisoners. The greys wanted him to go with them but he said “no way”. He wonders why they showed him these things if they wanted to encourage him to go with them. He’s been told that if we knew what was really going on with planet Earth we would throw our hands up and not want any part of it.

On another occasion after calling out for help with his encounters, he had the experience of a human looking being appearing to him who looked like Jesus. The being placed his hands on his head then disappeared. Three days later a white object that had been lodged underneath his tongue for years fell out. It was small like a pill, oval with little bumps over it. He caught it in his hand and noticed it was vibrating and moving around. He was so upset about his experiences he threw it away not wanting anything to do with it.

On another occasion he woke up and found liquid like water coming out of his nose and a sharp pain in his head.

He had a childhood encounter with a cloaked and hooded demonic being with cat-like eyes. It appeared beside his bed after his mother awoke and she felt its presence but didn't see it. He was sitting up against the wall with fear thinking it was going to kill him.

He had also seen a little girl dressed in white when he was living by himself. He had dark entities attacking him. The girl kissed him on the lips and his lips tingled. She said, "there, they won't hurt you any more", and the entities left the house screeching. After this he couldn't stop laughing for three days.

On another occasion he was living in the country. He "received" a message to go to a particular place so he jumped on his motor bike and rode off. On the way his bike broke down and he realized he wouldn't make it back to town that night and would have to sleep in the bush. Then a thunderstorm approached and he thought “that's just great, why the hell am I here?” Next thing a car appeared out of nowhere right next to him. He didn't hear or see it's approach and expected he should have. A man was driving with a female passenger. The woman asked if he wanted a ride which he gladly accepted. She said to him, “have you seen the lights in the forest. Have you seen the lights change to people? That's why we're here, to look for the lights in the forest." Then the couple drove him 20klms in the opposite direction to where they were headed to return him to town.

On another occasion he was outside having a drink and a cigarette when a man dressed in white appeared from the bush. He was dressed like an Indian or Egyptian (not quite the same) in a long white shirt with baggy long white trousers. He had his hair cut short and neat with an immaculately trimmed goatie beard. The man asked "when are you going to stop poisoning yourself?" then disappeared.

On another occasion he saw a short being with powdery blue skin wearing a spacesuit. The being had pointy ears, jet black hair cut around his face and bushy eyebrows. He wore a dark leather suit with something wrapped on his arm like a weapon that could fire a laser beam.

Some beings give him the impression there is a war going on and we're part of it. He said, “it has something to do with a battle over territory. All is not well on planet Earth”. This man doesn't share the view that greys are loving beings and feels disturbed that people believe it.

OCTOBER>>

Brisbane, October 3 2009
I was sitting out on the trampoline enjoying a warm can of beer when all of a sudden everything became very bright and I was confused. "Who's there?" I exclaimed. I asked if it was my son Benjamin playing a trick on me, but I realised that he was inside playing with his toy trucks. The light left me feeling very disoriented and circled the yard before disappearing into the night. It was quite an irregular occurrence. In my many years of research on caves and the stars (I am a spelunker/astronomer), I have never seen anything so bizarre.

Goodna, Friday October 23 2009 11.15pm
I saw something strange in the sky tonight above Goodna in Ipswich. It was moving very slowly and appeared to kind of hover over Goodna before it eventually moved on a bit faster in the direction of Brisbane.

It was hard to see the shape of the actual thing, but it had three lights, a red one on one side, then a gap, a green one on the other side, also with a gap to the centre part , and the middle had a rounded panel of bright clear lights. When I opened my car window to have a closer look it almost looked a bit triangular, almost like a fighter jet but with a rounded nose.

It was just very weird how it looked and moved. I saw it on Friday 23rd October at about 11:15 or so.

NOVEMBER>>

Townsville, November 1 2009, 8.50pm
At around 8:50pm I took my daughter into the backyard and whilst looking up in the sky I saw what at first I thought was just a bright star, but then I saw it was moving. This object was initially slow and I think it was not a satellite (as most of the satellites I have seen are between 6.00-8.00pm and are not very bright). T This thing was like a big star. It was travelling from the west towards the east, and then it started moving very fast towards the south. I would say I saw this thing flying for about four or five minutes.

Boronia Heights, Monday November 1 2009, 10.00pm
Approximately four to six weeks ago I saw something in the night sky I can't explain...and last night I saw it again. I have attached pictures of it for you. Here goes...

When I first saw it weeks ago, at first I thought it was a plane or hot air balloon on fire, but it was absolutely silent. It did not have any wings or tail or lights, and it was moving incredibly slower than any plane or "meteorite" I have ever seen. As it got closer I could clearly see it was an almost perfect circular shape, except for an occasional and very, very slight and momentary change in shape that was the visual result of the glow coming from within it. The "burning" appearance was almost phosphorescent-looking, and it looked like it was radiating intense heat. The best I can describe it is to say it was like a flare -- except it wasn't falling, it was travelling very slowly in a horizontal direction through the air, and it was a mixture of bright oranges and reds -- not blues or greens like a flare and, like I said, it wasn't falling and it didn't "burn out". Visually, it was about the size of a 10 cent piece when closest.

It appeared from the south, moved slowly in my direction until it was almost directly overhead, and then moved away slowly in a west /south-westerly direction, but its change in direction was so slow, I couldn't see it was moving away until well after the change in direction was made. The first sighting (four to six weeks ago) was approximately 7.30-8.00pm at night.

When I saw it again last night -- and it was exactly the same as the first time in every detail -- it was about 10.00pm at night. And here's the thing -- last night it followed the exact same path it took the first time!

Surely someone else has seen it!? I live in Boronia Heights, in the Logan area of Brisbane. Can you please tell me if you know of anyone else who has seen it and/or what it might be?? I am now armed and ready with my video camera and I will send you anything I can get.

Gympie, Tuesday November 5 2009, 9.15pm
I would like to report a sighting of a UFO which occurred on Thursday the 5th of November 2009 at approximately 9:15pm. The sighting occurred over the town of Gympie Qld.

The UFO was a boomerang-shaped formation consisting of an arrangement of four large blue-white lights. I could not discern any mass between the lights. The flight path was from south to north.

The UFO was completely silent, its speed would be at least five times that of commercial aircraft that fly over Gympie regularly. I also felt that the altitude of the craft would be about 5,000 metres, but it was hard to get this accurate.
This is not my first sighting over Gympie as on another occasion I saw a large formation of lights, possibly one very large craft, or a formation of many craft. The UFO or UFOs were at very high altitude, making it very difficult to get any perspective. In my estimate though I do think that it was more likely one craft, as the light formation remained constant throughout the sighting of no more than one minute duration.

Brisbane International Speedway, November 12 2009, 10.00pm
I record motorsport racing in SE QLD and was doing this at Brisbane International Speedway last Saturday night . In a break during the racing , I noticed some strange lights in the SW sky and do not have a clue what it / they were . Unfortunately they appeared behind a tree and therefore could not get a totally unrestricted shot of it . This was about 10 pm last Saturday night alongside Archerfield Airport at the Speedway looking in a south westerly direction. There was no sound from it (possibly it was too far away)

Kilkivan, November 19 2009, 9.51pm
At 9:51 pm on the 19th November 2009 I was putting the calves away outside when I looked up at the stars and saw a thick faded white line across the sky. this line wasn't straight, but after I went inside to get the camera it was fading and when I went to video it, it was so faded that I could only just see it. just wondering if any1 else saw anything.

Lake Eyre National Park, October 2009, Reported November 22 2009
Three weeks ago, while trekking through the Lake Eyre National Park, my wife and I had what can only be described as a close encounter of the third kind.

It was early evening, and we were coming to the end of a day-long nature tour of the park, when something bright came into view over the horizon. It was cigar-shaped and silver in colour, with long lines of light running from end to end - I have since determined that these were part of the craft's camoflauge system, as they served only to disorientate myself and my wife and made it difficult to focus on the object. The craft was moving slowly from the south to the north. It was not silent - it made a whirring noise that, while soft, was clearly audible. As it passed across the setting sun I lost sight of it.

DECEMBER>>

Wishart, December 11 2009, 1.30am
Early on Thursday morning 10 December 2009, at about 1.30am I got up to go to the bathroom. I happened to look at the window and saw a very bright light just hanging in the sky. Our bathroom window faces south-east so from where I was looking out my window in Wishart it seemed to be somewhere out towards the bay maybe.

On Thursday morning I told my husband about the light and he said it was probably the moon. I know this was not the moon that I saw because this is not the first time I have seen this type of light. Over the past few years I have seen this type of light probably two or three other times. But I've never thought to report it.

Generally the light appears to be round/oval and is very bright. On Thursday morning the light was just hanging in the sky, barely moving, hovering. On previous occasions I have seen the light drop down really suddenly and then continue to hover. It seems too strange for this type of movement to be a plane and there are no flashing lights on it like a plane would have.

I hope this account helps with your records. I would love to know if someone else saw what I saw. Next time I see it I will grab my camera and try to take a short video of it.

Hoppers Crossing (Vic), December 21 2009, 10.55pm
I was standing in my back yard emptying a used by can of drink and while looking up towards the starts a saw this unusual object fly by quickly. It was Light Brown in colour shaped like rectangular shapes close together. From my position it was approximately the size of a large egg.

It was not 100% clearly outlined but it was something I’ve never seen before. It did not make any noise while passing over. All I saw was 3 light brown rectangles pass over, there was no stream or flashing lights or anything like that.It passed across the sky in a dead straight line.

As it passed over it just disappeared with out fading away or anything like that in a westerly direction at approx 80 degrees to the horizon. It was also a clear night so no wind clouds or rain.

Only reaction was surrounding dogs in the area barking on and off for 20 minutes after I saw it. There were no physical effects or changes afterwards except for goosebumps from head to toe as I’ve never seen something like that before.

After the sighting I saw a shooting star. It was a very clear night so all the stars were visible. I am also very familiar with aircrafts and do have some astronomy knowledge.

MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS>>

Nundah, 1947, reported January 2009
In mid-1947, four or five of my mates and myself, all about 8 to 10 years of age, were playing over at the local football oval at Oxenham Park, Nundah, adjacent to Melton Road.

It was about 7.00pm and we were all laying on our backs looking up into the heavens when we noticed this small yellow star, way out into the heavenlies, moving slowly across the sky. We watched it for 45 minutes to an hour as it moved from south to a northerly direction. The movement was erratic, zig-zag and stationary, and three quarters of the way cross the heavenlies we noticed that it began to shimmer and disappear intermittently.

In those days the heavenlies were clear and the stars in the heavenlies were many, nothing like today. When we saw the Sputnik in 1957, it was close and bright, but I did notice the same shimmering effect as it disappeared intermittently, which brought back my memory of 1947 incident.

A few weeks later in 1947, after that first sighting, I was returning home from playing on the oval about 7:30pm, when the skies overhead began to light up with fireballs, green flashes like a fireworks display of "Roman Candles". Then there was this enormous roar and explosions, and the noise was frightening for a 10 year-old. The sky was alive with the display, which lasted for a long period of time, say approximately 5 to 10 seconds or probably more, because I had to run about 60 metres to my home, and as I ran up the staircase our house was shaking and all the windows were rattling, and the fireball was flashing, then quietness.

For three days I checked the morning and evening paper and there was nothing reported in the newspaper of the incident. I found a very small comment in a newspaper, possibly the Telegraph on the third day, or the Courier Mail on the fourth day. And the comment said something like this: "A meteor crashed north of Rockhampton!" Even then at my young age I thought it was strange that it took three days to make a report in the paper. And there was nothing on the radio either.

Some years ago, I went to the State Library to check the microfilms of around mid-1947 for June and July, same time as the Roswell Incident, and the microfilm was missing, and nobody in the library had any idea why it was missing.

Killarney 1991, reported June 2009
I was 13 years old when myself and two friends were out shooting one night at Killarney (near Warwick Qld). We didn't find any of the pigs we were hunting so we decided to take a break and rested on the edge of an erosion-type creek that was about three meters deep. At 2.00am it was very dark with clear skies -- there was no sound and everything was nice and still when I noticed to my right there was a sphere with a very bright-dullish weird kinda light approximately four to five meters in diameter, about fifteen meters to my right.

I quickly said to my mates, who were sitting next to me on my left, to look at this thing - which seemed to stun me slightly - and soon as they looked up it disappeared. It was very odd and I was second guessing myself whether I even saw what I thought I saw in the first place, so I just shut my mouth until approximately two minutes later the object returned to its original position. I looked at it and it stayed there, so I said to my mates again very quietly and with no sudden movements, to slowly look up to the right and they did and before they seen anything it vanished again.

I had kept my eyes on it the entire time and the weird thing was it didn't disappear each time, but it moved so fast to a point where it was next to me and then it was into the sky and it did leave a type of super fast little tail blur.
It came back once more and I said nothing this time and just very clearly observed it for about 30 seconds. The extremely strange thing was that it was a very fluorescent blue, like a corona-type electrical discharge. It made absolutely no sound but here's the kicker: we sat over a deep creek bed with water around us and as bright blue it was the object made absolutely no reflection on the water or the ground. It wasn't hard to look at, as in it wasn't blinding, but it was very blurry so I wasn't able to se what was behind the blurry blue light.

I am an auto electrical engineer and have experimented with very high voltages and microwaves in my younger days and can only describe it as a high voltage corona wind discharge generated by close proximity to static excitement of electrons close to the ground or air, but the object did stay blue went it went high into the clouds. It moved from where I was sitting to almost out of sight too fast for anyone not looking, but since I was looking I could see it all, It was not interacting with our gravity or atmosphere at all. It definitely could overcome a lot of our forces in nature.

Paris, France, July 2000, 3.30am, reported February 2009
In the summer of the year 2000 in mid July, I was living in the 8th Arrondisement in Paris (which is central Paris) in a little studio on the 6th floor with a clear view over the rooftops of neighbouring buildings. The sighting occurred at approximately 3.30am and I had the distinct impression that my sleep had been purposely interrupted somehow. I went to the fridge and drank a glass of orange juice and then instinctively looked out of my kitchen window, which was wide open as it was a clear warm night (approx 27C) with no clouds in the sky. The air was absolutely still and it was totally silent.

Suddenly about 8 degrees over horizontal at 12 o'clock, in other words directly in front of me, there appeared four very bright white circular plasma-type lights which were arranged in a vertical line, each one equidistant from the others, which appeared out of nowhere. Over a period that I estimated to be around eight seconds, these four points of light then drew four horizontal lines from left to my right which became progressively longer, until four seconds after which they became progressively shorter again to become the same four points of light after eight seconds. The lines were still equidistant, exactly like the points of light, and they were just as bright. At the end of the eight seconds the four lights suddenly vanished.

I estimate that the lines drew an arc of approximately 5 to 7 degrees, however it was difficult to estimate the distance of the lights since there were no reference points by which I could compare them to. I have a physics background so I have been extremely methodical and rigorous in my analysis of this phenomenon and I have come to certain conclusions.

Firstly what I saw was definitely not the result of any atmospheric phenomena like ball lightning for example. Secondly it was definitely not the result of reflection of car lights against clouds since there were no clouds. These bright white lights were definitely not the navigation lights of a plane or a helicopter because I saw those things practically every day and the planes had a very specific trajectory when they flew over my area, and they were at a much higher altitude than the appearance of these brilliant lights which I estimated to be approximately 200 to 300 metres above the ground. They were also not the result of the circulating lights on top of the Eiffel tower or balloons or fireworks or anything else of man-made origin.

After reflection I believe that the four brilliant white plasma-type lights were in fact drawing lines along the hull of a single craft which was moving very slowly from my right to left, in other words in the opposite direction to the lines of light which were going from left to right. To confirm this theory I grabbed four pens and taped them together in a vertical manner and drew four vertical points and then drew four lines from left to right. It became immediately clear that the piece of paper which represents the craft was going in the opposite direction to the lines. I also suspect that this craft had very sophisticated camouflage technology which made it absolutely invisible. This is not some science fiction scenario as serious researchers all over the world are actually working on bending or refracting light for the purposes of camouflage. There are several different techniques by which this may be achieved in theory, but suffice it to say that an advanced technological civilization would almost certainly have solved the technical problems of achieving total invisibility.

I also thought about how I woke up to see this phenomenon, because I rarely wake up at night and usually sleep right up to dawn so this was most unusual for me. I know that microwaves can disrupt sleeping patterns and once again it would be very easy for an advanced civilization to use microwaves to wake someone up from deep sleep. However the purpose remains a complete mystery.

Scarborough, July 2008, reported October 2009
In July 2008 (I can't remember the day exactly) at approximately 8.30pm, I was standing in my backyard (Scarborough, Qld) smoking a cigarette and looking up at the night sky. It was a typical night for me, I often stared at the sky for hours watching the planes, satellites, shooting stars etc, however that night, as I looked up into the sky, a bright white light caught my attention. At first I thought it was a star but soon realised that it was growing in size as it descended towards the earth. I thought that perhaps it was a jet in trouble and thus falling from the sky? I started to doubt that theory when the light (a sphere) stopped moving and hovered in the sky, it was bigger and brighter than any other light I had seen. In that moment six (6) spheres of light (smaller yet just as bright) separated from the larger and flew in two directions both left and right of the main sphere. They moved so quickly that it was impossible to see exactly where they went. As I returned my attention to the large sphere of light it disappeared within the second. The other six lights had either disappeared or as I suspect, looked just like stars in the sky.

It was truly the most amazing thing I have ever seen! Since that day I have been watching the sky every night and early morning for hours, and during the last 18 months I have seen many unusual sights. I have seen at least eight different unexplained lights. The most common being a bright flash of light that traverses the sky in an unusual pattern (or with no pattern at all). They are there one minute and gone the next. They are watching and they are coming... this is a very exciting time!

Bardon, November 20 2008 (reported October 2009)
Did anyone see a strange aircraft (dark triangle shape) fly over the Bardon area in Brisbane going northeast during the height of very heavy rain storm about 1.00-2.00 am (approx) on the morning of Thursday 20 November, 2008 (we got about 8 inches of rain in 2 hours)

Canungra 2005, reported October 2009
This report maybe a little old but it's worth a mention.
I have been an avid believer in UFOs since I was a radar operator in the R.A.N from 1965 to 1974 and I operated the most sophisticated radars available to the Australian Navy at that time onboard the Guided Missile Destroyer HMAS Perth.
During this time I and many other radar operators on my watch used to track UFOs, and watch them perform incredible manoeuvres in the sky. When we reported them to our officer of the watch he would say ‘well what the f--- can we do about them’!!!!

My story is as follows:- My wife was working in the front yard garden of our farm at Canungra on a beautiful February morning 10.15am in 2005. She asked me to take a photo of a little green frog balancing precariously on a large elephant ear leaf, so I grabbed my Canon SLR and continued to do so. After I had finished I said that I would walk around the side of the house and see if that green snake (was to want of a better word) hanging around. As I was proceeding something caught my eye in the sky, and to my amazement I was witnessing an incredible sight. These fantastic balls of white light were dancing around in the sky and then, to my astonishment, they would all join up together forming one large fuzzy blob with a red tinge around them, and then break apart forming (what my description is) a string of pearls, but not attached, then would fly apart again as if playing tag with one another.

This was when I realised I had my camera. I managed to peel off three photos walking towards them when they formed up altogether again, and a cloud enveloped them and unfortunately they all disappeared. That's the way it happened. I rang the Beaudesert Times to see if anybody else had reported anything, and after I had the pictures developed I contacted The Beaudesert Times again and they sent out a cub reporter "Lisa Owen." She put my story into the Beaudesert Times on Wednesday March 9th 2005.

Launceston, August 2008, reported August 2009
I have just stumbled on your site and would like to report a UFO sighting about one year ago.

It was about 10.00pm when I spotted a UFO. I jumped up off the couch and shouted out to my wife to "come and look". I opened the back door and we both saw it. Afterwards I said to my wife, "see, I told you it was true, I told you so"!
It lasted maybe five seconds from the time first I spotted it. Now I already know UFOs are real and they exist. I have been a witness to these things here in Launceston a number of times but never quite like this. The other times were manifested by "hummings" around 3.00 or 4.00am on ultra-still and "no weather nights". And on two other occasions dancing lights and still lights with no logical understanding of it.

What was unusual in this case is the direction it was travelling. We are in the city (more like a town) of Launceston in Tasmania. The direction of travel was west to east, not the direction of aircraft. Also it appeared very low and had a bright light which looked as nearly as big as a tennis ball. It had a red dot-like light at the back (if that is the back). Suddenly it appeared to gain extreme speed and it was like someone turned a dimmer switch down and off and then the red light disappeared. I say 'appeared to gain extreme speed' and I am sure that was the case, but it was so straight and precise and sort of supersonic, so accurate it was a bit mind bending.

Eatons Hill, 2005 (approx.), reported August 2009
It was some time between 2004 and 2006 in either Summer, Autumn or Spring (I remember it wasn't cold), and I was living WITH at Eatons Hill in Brisbane. Myself and two people I was living saw some UFOs one night. We were facing towards Samford and a series of orange oval glowing shapes cruised across the sky from left to right. There were about 5-8 of them in a row, roughly in line with each other. They moved across the sky in basically a straight line. There was no detail and no sound, just an orange glow, and they looked just like orange street lamps, but far away and up in the sky. A few minutes after the lights passed, another set of about four came across the sky along the same path as the first bunch. To me it looked like they were all separate UFOs and not two big UFOs.

Then about a month later I was driving in Bridgeman Downs at night (which is near Eatons Hill) along a street that had street lamps, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed that one of the "street lamps" was not passing by like the rest. I looked up and saw a UFO, which looked exactly the same as the ones I had seen a month earlier, but there was only one. I got to the house at Bridgeman Downs and ran inside to tell my family. They all came outside and saw it -- it was floating around the patch of sky in our view. It was orange, oval, no detail, no sound -- exactly the same as the other UFOs. My dad is a huge skeptic and he got his binoculars out and we all had a look at the UFO through the binoculars, but it looked exactly the same as it did with the naked eye -- no detail, just a glow that looks just like an orange street lamp. I can't remember how they all disappeared, I think they just faded out as if they were flying upward into space. I don't know why these stories are never on the news, I couldn't have been the only one to see it as it wasn't late at night so a lot of people would have been awake.

Gympie, (Qld), 2008 (reported September 2009)
It was Summer 2008 and I was lying outside on a the ground watching the sunset and talking to my girlfriend when I saw a bright light appear on the horizon. I took no interest in this light until it began to move straight up into the sky. I followed with my eyes in amazement as I watched this bright light start at the horizon and then shoot straight up into the sky, disappearing within 20 seconds. Still no one believes me to this day that I saw a UFO

Moreton Bay, November 2002 (reported August 2009), 2.00am
At the time there was no wind, no moon, balmy, and a storm was slowly approaching from the south. I was drift fishing alone when I observed a huge metallic disc [at least two kilometres in diameter], moving from south to north at about 20 knots. It produced a low buzzing noise and I estimate its height at around 1000 metres. I watched for 30 minutes as the craft moved overhead and north towards Bribie Island. It displayed twelve bright red lights in four triangles underneath. I will gladly swear this is true AWESOME.............
