Last night (Jan. 28th 08) at
7.10pm something odd happened. I went outside to water the
path. Lucky (our silky terrier) came out with me and he
wandered down to the gate in case something needed barking at.
The next moment he came racing up to me with his tail down
looking confused - at that moment I heard a 'whoosh' along the
dirt road which was 10 metres from me, going north to south. I
looked up and down at the road and couldn't see anything. I
took Lucky back into the house with me; he remained terrified
for at least three quarters of an hour, even following me into
the bathroom which he normally doesn't do. The woman over the
road was watering but she didn't seem to notice anything - the
whoosh lasted for only about half a second (I have very good
hearing). If I analyse the situation, the 'thing' had to be
about one metre up as there was no dust raised. It had to have
been travelling extremely fast or I would have seen something
(like you can't see a bullet once shot, as it travels faster
than our eyes can track it). By the sound of the whoosh I'd
hazard a guess that the object might have been an object about
3/4 metre diameter and the 'whoosh' was the air it displaced.
Because the dog seemed confused for a while after, maybe it
was still around but not so close. Later that night a
girlfriend who is currently interested in some blue lights she
can see over a hilltop, which is also opposite our house, rang
me up to ask me if I could see the blue lights. Unfortunately,
due to trees in the way, and also seeing the hills from a
different angle, I was unable to spot anything.FEBRUARY>>
Julatten,
Qld, February 4 2008, 12.18am
I was driving
home from work ( I had not been drinking or on drugs) and as I
was driving along this big blue light was going along the tops
of the trees right beside my car. It was with my car for about
two minutes and it had a rush of power with it and then was
gone. I find it hard to put it on paper as it was so good and
big that it give me the best feeling, that things were safe
for me to see this light.
Gold Coast, February 9
2008, 6.00pm
I'm a 54 year-old business man who is very
conservative and has never seen or reported seeing any UFOs
in my life. I would not be reporting this sighting unless I
can say with utter conviction that what I saw in the sky
that evening was no airplane. We live in Bonogin,
Queensland. which is in the hinterland hills overlooking the
Gold Coast. It was about 6:00pm (sun going down but still
light out), and I was sitting on my deck enjoying the view
over the Gold Coast building skyline. The sky was clear with
a few low clouds in the distance, so my visibility was
unhampered. As I was sitting there peering out I noticed
this dark grey object in the sky above the building skyline.
At first glance it was on a 45-degree angle, like a plane
banking over the buildings. I couldn't tell which because in
a few seconds the object righted itself so it was parallel
in the sky. The object was cigar-shaped, slightly raised and
thicker in the middle, and fairly thick and long from side
to side. From the time that I first spotted it in the
45-degree angle to it righting itself, it had not moved from
right to left, nor towards me or away from me as it did not
increase or decrease in size. Once it righted itself it just
sat there in one spot in the sky.
As I continued to watch
this thing I was trying to put into perspective what it was
that I was looking at. Then I fixated on its size -- it was
huge! At that distance I started comparing it to the size of
the buildings below it. It might have been over the
buildings or could have been further out over the ocean,
from the angle I was at I could not be absolutely sure, but
if it was out over the ocean that would have made it that
much bigger. Either way, this object had to be at least the
length of three 747s, nose to tail, as it sat there in the
sky (and that's if it was as close as the buildings). There
were no lights and from my distance there was no sound that
I could hear, just this huge dark grey cigar-shaped object
sitting in the sky. It seemed like I was looking at this
thing forever, but it probably was only for 45 to 60
seconds. Then it must have shot out straight away from me
out over the ocean as this huge grey cigar object became
very small very quickly and then disappeared from sight in a
matter of a few seconds.
I went into the house and told my
wife what I saw and told her I wanted to call the police to
see if anybody else reported seeing it. It seemed impossible
to me that I would have been the only one to see this thing.
In the end I didn't call but I bet my wife that it would be
in the paper or on the news. Well, it wasn't so I lost that
bet, but I did see it. If anybody else reports seeing
something that night I would love to know that I wasn't the
only one. I was in the Air Force so aviation has always
fascinated me. What I saw that evening was no airplane!
Mt Tamborine, February 22
2008, 7.50pm
I am on Tamborine mountain, at Eagle
Heights. At approximately 7.50pm on Friday 22 February, I
saw a very bright light, several times larger than other
stars in the sky at the same time that was hovering and
moving in an irregular pattern. It was to the southwest, and
I watched it for about 20 seconds, then ran upstairs to tell
my family. By the time I got up the stairs, five seconds, I
yelled out through the door and looked back in its
direction. It had moved a little lower in the sky and it
seemed to be moving quite quickly towards the
south/south-west and got smaller in size very quickly. The
light disappeared within a couple of seconds. At a guess it
would have been above the QLD/NSW border. What more can I
say? I will keep looking and wondering!
Paradise Point, February
23 2008, 7.00pm
My girlfriend and I were at Paradise
Point at about 7.00pm and we saw what appeared to be
satellites in the sky -- tiny stars moving fast. We saw ten
in the space of 20 minutes. None of them changed direction
or speed. The bizarre thing was the third one was huge. It
was a bright triangular shape, the brightness of about 10
stars, and the eighth one flashed twice as it passed. I
would assume the rest were everyday satellites except they
were crossing each other's paths and there were so many. At
one point there were three above us all headed in different
directions. Did anyone else report it?
Burnett Heads, February 23
2008, 8.00pm
I would like to report a UFO sighting at
approximately 8.00pm on Saturday 23rd February at Burnett
Heads QLD 4670. My husband was in our in pool when he looked
up and saw a solid bright light moving north to south at
high speed across the sky along the coastline. It was
intensely bright, moving at a constant speed across the sky.
Then another bright object appeared in the western sky
moving from west to east dissecting the path of the first
object. The second object appeared to be much higher in the
sky than the first object.
Samford/Mt Nebo, February
29 2008, 8.40pm
I live at Camp Mountain and my house
faces Mt. Nebo. I was wondering if anyone had contacted you
to say they had seen a UFO over Mt. Nebo on February 29th at
8:40-9.00pm. My whole family witnessed what looked to be an
extremely bright object with colourful lights in red, white
and blue colours that were pulsating in a right to left
pattern. It was clearly visible to us for at least six to
eight minutes before fading out gradually, as if a cloud had
passed over and covered it. It did not move or seem to be
travelling, as I compared it with the tree branch outside my
verandah. Just wondering if anyone else has reported
something or if you might know what it was?
MARCH>>
Wooyung (Tweed), March 10
2008, 6.50pm
On Monday 17 March 2008 I observed a bright
spherical white-light UFO, judged to be about 10 metres
(30ft) in diameter, appearing to look twice the size and
brightness of Venus, observed at 7.50pm daylight savings
time (6.50pm eastern standard time) at dusk from my home 1.5
kilometres inland from Wooyung Beach in the Tweed-Byron
Shire area and viewed for about five minutes. It was first
observed travelling slowly south and directly towards me at
approximately 1000 metres above the ground, moving through
scattered clouds with occasional stars visible above and
with a half moon shining brightly to the north.
At first I
wondered if it was the landing lights of an aircraft that
had taken off from Coolangatta Airport and was travelling
much further east than such aircraft normally do. However no
red, green or strobe lights were visible and no noise
emanated from the craft. It was travelling through low light
cloud and almost disappeared when travelling through a dense
cloud before re-emerging into light cloud and clear sky. As
it passed directly overhead I observed and then heard the
approach of a commercial airliner on descent to Coolangatta
flying north one kilometre off the northern NSW coast. The
bright spherical white light UFO then changed course and
curved towards the north-east so that it was obviously in a
collision course with the airliner. The UFO remained at the
same elevation and speed and passed through a denser cloud.
This caused its appearance to change so that the light at
the rear of the object extended a short distance and its
shape now appeared to be like a comet with a short tail, the
entire object perhaps 20 metres (60ft) in length and still
almost directly overhead. Emerging from the dense cloud it
then regained its original appearance and I was able to view
both the airliner with its normal landing lights, and faint
pilot and passenger window lights all visible, contrasting
with the bright spherical white-light UFO converging on it
as it continued its curved course to the northeast it still
looked the same as when it was first approaching me.
It then
occurred to me that the bright white object should be
clearly visible to passengers on the left-hand side of the
airliner and approaching them on a possible collision
course. Both the airliner and the UFO were travelling at the
same speed and elevation with the airliner travelling north
and the UFO travelling northeast. The UFO then appeared to
pass directly in front of the airliner perhaps 300 to 400
metres away and should have been clearly visible to the
pilots. It was difficult to judge if the UFO was just above,
below or at the exact elevation of the airliner but the
difference would not have been more than about 50 metres.
Even though the UFO was now travelling away from me and I
was therefore viewing it from behind, it looked identical as
to when it was approaching me and when directly overhead.
Both airliner and UFO passed behind trees. I spent some time
afterwards keeping a watch in case it returned but saw
nothing else unusual.
Carindale, March 15 2008,
7.30pm
We were at Carindale looking east when we saw
what we first thought was a shooting star travelling
extremely fast from south to north. But then it did a right
turn, some jerky movements and appeared to quickly move up
and away. It appeared as a bright light, the same size as a
star from where we were. My wife heard the B105 radio
morning crew talking about it on Monday morning.
Brisbane, March 24 2008,
7.00pm
I saw what I believe was a UFO on Monday 24 March
2008 while flying on a plane from Brisbane to Newcastle at
approximately 7.00pm. It was still daylight, the flight had
just taken off from Brisbane domestic airport and was flying
south over Brisbane. I looked out the window and saw a
sliver, metallic, wingless oblong-shaped object flying at a
lower altitude than the plane that I was flying in (a B737).
The UFO was travelling in a northerly direction parallel to
the horizon. It didn't look like a plane because of the
speed at which it was travelling, at least three times as
fast as a plane. I thought I'd report it in case someone
else had seen it from the ground.
I've also seen a UFO from
the lounge room of unit I was living in at Bowen Hills in
Brisbane, in 1999 but didn't report it earlier because I've
only just found this website and organisation. My boyfriend
and myself both saw an orange-pinkish oblong glowing object
travel quickly in an upward direction. It had no noise. It
was a partially cloudy day, but we both saw it travel across
a clear part of the sky. It travelled behind a cloud so we
could tell it wasn't a reflection from the ground, then it
reappeared from behind the cloud. But when it went behind
another cloud and we were waiting for it come out the other
side of the cloud, it disappeared. It was about the size of
a 20 cent coin held at arms length.
Indooroopilly, March 25
2008, 8.55pm
At approximately 8.55pm on Tuesday 25th
March 2008 my wife and I were sitting on the front deck of
our house in Indooroopilly, which faces a bush reserve
across the street. We were sitting in the dark enjoying the
quiet of the evening and the sky was fairly clear with a few
stars visible. Suddenly I saw what appeared in my peripheral
vision to be an enormous bird of prey gliding silently into
view overhead and heading south.
When I looked directly at
it I realised it was nothing like a bird but was a 'V' or
delta shaped object, somewhat delicate in appearance with
wings spread slightly upward and reminiscent of a gliding
eagle. The wings were very long and slender and covered in
tiny white lights which were quite faint. The lights did not
blink. It made no sound whatsoever. I pointed it out to my
wife who also saw it. It was not possible to estimate its
size or altitude. If it was flying at a very low altitude it
may have been about the size of a light aircraft. However
the faintness and pinprick size of the lights seemed to
indicate it may have been much higher in which case the
object would have been very large. After being visible for
about three and a half seconds (at most) it seemed to
'dissolve' into the night sky and was no longer visible.
It
looked absolutely nothing like a bird, any known aircraft or
a weather balloon. It was not a reflection on a cloud. It
appeared to be some kind of craft flying a determined
course.
Indooroopilly, March 31
2008, 9.30pm
As incredible as it may sound (I have to
admit it does sound incredible even to me) I wish to report
a SECOND even more spectacular sighting.
Prior to the
sighting on March 25 neither I nor my wife had ever seen a
UFO. But tonight (March 31) at about 9:30pm, I was again
with my wife on our darkened front deck about to drink tea
before turning in when we saw something in the sky even more
baffling than whatever it was we saw less than a week ago.
(I should note that we have only recently begun sitting on
the deck at night. A practice I'm very tempted to
discontinue!)
I was standing at the front railing looking
vaguely in the direction of the grouping of stars known as
'The Saucepan' (Orion) just above the bush reserve directly
across the street. Suddenly there was movement in the sky
and I clearly saw a boomerang or inverted 'V'-shaped object
flying south, originating at approximately the point of the
Saucepan. It was different in appearance to the first craft
I reported. That object looked like a 'V' or eagles wing
shape covered in a myriad of pinhole sized lights. Tonight's
object looked like a boomerang or an inverted -V'-shape with
lights outlining the shape of the craft. I estimated 40 to
50 lights but my wife thinks there may have been less. My
wife thought the lights looked coloured but to me they
appeared white. I am however slightly colour-blind. Also she
couldn't identify any specific colour.
The craft we
witnessed tonight looked larger and there were fewer and
larger lights than the previous craft. However tonight's
craft may have been flying at a much lower altitude in which
case the lights would appear larger. Like the other craft
the lights were clear but dull and faint and gave the object
a 'ghostly' appearance. Also, its difficult to explain but
it didn't fly the way a plane flies.
We watched the craft
fly in a southerly direction, looking very big and clear in
the sky. It made no sound that we could hear. The previous
craft 'dissolved' after three or four seconds, but we were
watching this thing for about ten seconds or more until it
reached midway in the sky between the Saucepan and the
Southern Cross. Then the craft completely changed shape,
breaking into several very strange semi-geometric light
formations before pulling back into a boomerang shape.
Almost as soon as the boomerang shape reformed the lights
seemed to stretch into a thin line somewhat like stretching
a rubber band by pulling at both ends. An instant later the
lights had 'dissolved' into the night sky just like the
first one. My wife believes this was not a single craft but
a formation of smaller craft, but it had the appearance of a
solid craft to me because of the rigid fixed distance
between the lights as it flew.
One more thing. I got the
strange notion that this thing wanted to be seen by us for
some reason and that when it 'pulled apart' into different
formations or shapes it was doing so for our benefit.
However this feeling may have been nothing more than my
imagination. I must have said "Did you see that?" and "you
saw it too didn't you?" quite a few times because my wife
told me to stop repeating myself!
Seeing one UFO is
intriguing. Seeing two in less than a week is very
disturbing. I might begin to doubt my eyesight if my wife
had not seen these things too. She is a very sensible, down
to earth person not given to flights of imagination. I feel
I should mention that we were both stone cold sober and
neither of us ever engage in any kind of drug taking.
APRIL>>
Bajool, Central Qld Coast,
April 10 2008, 5.15am
I would like to report a UFO
sighting which my husband and I experienced at approximately
5.15am on Thursday 10th April, 2008. This was along the
Bruce highway about two kilometres south of Bajool which is
just south of Rockhampton, Queensland. We were heading south
in our car (a late model Nissan Pulsar).
It began when we
saw two lights in the sky ahead of us. As the lights got
closer they passed over us and we noticed that there were
three lights in a triangular shape, with one light in front
and two behind. From our perspective the overall width of
the object was tens of times wider than our car. We could
not guess how far up the lights were from the ground, but we
feel it was a substantial height and that the object or
objects must have been quite enormous. Approximately one
minute elapsed from when we first saw the lights until they
had gone. The lights seemed silent and made no noise that we
could hear over the car's engine. The lights could have been
three separate objects or one object with three lights on
it. We couldn't tell for sure but would guess that it was
one large object. The lights then must have gone straight up
into the air, as they got smaller and went out of sight.
Mermaid Beach, April 7
2008, 8.50pm
Walking down to the beach, we saw directly
east and about ten degrees to the right, a light hovering
out over the sea on the horizon. We also noticed at least
one or possibly two airplanes circling the objects with
flashing lights on. I believe they were observing it too.
Holding a 50-cent piece at arm's length, I estimated the
object as around the length of four buses back to back.
We
only saw its lights, and they seemed to move or manifest
into different positions on the craft. The lights were
bright yellow and/or white. It was shaped like a large navel
ship from what I saw, and its lights seemed to move and
rearrange themselves, but within the area of vehicle. Apart
from that, did not see it separate. I believe it was a "USO."
It would look like a submarine with its light under water,
then it would seem to manifest like it was sitting on the
water, then it would rise directly up, move sideways and
lower back to the surface, and then go under water again,
several times.
At around 9.45pm (after nearly an hour of
observation) it seemed to be underwater, then it went north
along the coast and I could see it in the distance near 'The
Spit.' When I watched it, it was hovering around quite
slowly, moving around 50kph, and when it went underwater it
sped off north very quickly. It was there one moment, then
just gone. It was also witnessed by my girlfriend who was at
Surfers Paradise, as I made phone contact with her while
sighting it.
Samford, April 12 2008,
10.27am
These photos (not shown) of a feathery cloud
were taken by my 17 year old daughter at 10:27am on 12 April
2008. It was only when I downloaded it to computer two weeks
later that I spotted the object just above the cloud. We
didn't notice it at the time. I was busy outside and asked
her to take a photo of the cloud, which she did with a
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 digital camera. The camera was on
'continuous shoot' setting and she took two photos in close
succession purely by chance. The first image was taken at
10:27:52 with the second image taken only two seconds later
at 10:27:54. The object had vanished in the two second time
lapse. The original photos were not enhanced or changed in
any way whatsoever. The photo was taken from our deck
overlooking clear mountain in Yugar, Samford, north-west of
Brisbane. Direction of photo is towards the north.
Townsville, April 26 2008,
4.30pm
On the 26th of April 2008 my mother and two
brothers saw what they thought to be a man flying in the
air, in broad daylight at 4:30pm in the afternoon against a
cloudless sky and about 800 - 1000 yards away. One of my
brothers is an ex paratrooper in the Australian Army and he
described the flying man as being about six to seven feet in
height, and he was floating in a standing upright position.
The man seemed to be moving his head and looking around, and
when he turned towards Hervey's Range, you could see his
whole anatomy and it was a man.
Burringbar NSW, April 28,
8.00pm
The object started out on the eastern horizon as
a bright gold thing that looked like a star and I thought,
wow, it could be Venus. It was stationary for the first
twenty seconds or so that I saw it but it was way too bright
to be Venus. It was sitting on the horizon in our northeast
quadrant just above a hill. I was about to call my wife and
say 'honey look how bright this star is,' but then the one
gold ball of light (a bit bigger than Venus) turned into two
red objects and separated and started moving. Initially when
I was looking at the golden single object, it faded in
colour and then came back really bright again. When they
separated and turned red initially the red was barely
visible, but after a few seconds, it was a clear reddish
colour and quite bright They stayed red for the rest of the
time we watched them.
There were no blinking lights, but
there could have been more than one light source on each
craft. There was definitely a red core, and perhaps there
could have been lights top and bottom and left and right of
each one, but it was tough to see as they were dwarfed by
the core light source As soon as they turned red and started
moving I call out to my wife, who was inside drying her
hair. She came out and was like 'What is that? Is it a
plane?' I said 'How could it be a plane, their wings must be
1000ft wide!' Then the two objects came almost together and
my wife got scared.
The two objects were heading west from
their initial spot in the northeast quadrant, and there was
ZERO symmetry in the way they were moving - one of the red
things would move down and then back up, they would part
from each other and come back together, but never together
as one object.
They flew from the northeast across the sky
in a really odd motion, up and down, together for a bit,
then parting for a bit, slowing and stopping for a bit and
then moving again. They never got more than about 2000ft
apart, and their altitude never differed by more than about
300 feet, and they never got more than about 30 feet apart
from each other vertically. They went from the eastern
horizon, to the western horizon and out of sight in about
two minutes. At their closest, looking at them in the sky,
it was almost like they could have only been at 1000 feet
altitude, but then you looked again and it could have been
40, 000 feet. The motion that they flew in was more like a
fly than an aeroplane or a helicopter but it wasn't erratic,
it was quite pretty as I have never seen anything move with
that motion. It was defying gravity to some extent. Having
watched many an aircraft flying over here it amazed me with
the speed they crossed the sky. It was not one speed either,
they were constantly speeding up, stopping, going down, up,
left right.
It was really difficult to know the size of the
objects, as they were so bright, it made getting definition
almost impossible...but my instinct tells me they were
taller than they were wide, but not knowing how far away
they were makes it impossible to know a rough dimension. One
minute it seemed like they were just there, a minute later
they seemed miles away. This was some sort of unidentified
flying object... and there were two of them! I thought it
would be on the news this morning, as surely other people
would have seen them! It was a clear night, perfect
visibility and zero wind. I have regularly (four times in
three years) seen this bright coloured 'star' at the same
place on the horizon that this one originated, but I have
never seen it turn into two red flying objects and scoot
across the sky. I am VERY happy that my wife saw it too, or
I could be going to see a shrink!
Armidale, late April 2008,
5.30pm
Last December I sent an email describing an
object a friend and myself witnessed in my back yard. I have
seen it again. About two weeks ago I was at the local
sporting oval flying kites with my two kids and wife. It was
about 5:30 and it was starting to get dark. I looked up at
about a 60 degree angle to the west and saw a bright light.
I initially thought it was a helicopter with its spotlight
on but after ten seconds or so it was apparent that was not
what it was. The object looked the same, and for all I know
could have been the same object I described in my last
report (December 2007). What is interesting is the
difference in perception of this object.
In the first report
I described how what I saw (a spherical type intense light
which faded or drained out) and what my friend saw (more a
cylindrical shape with protruding "wings") were different.
This time, upon discussing the event later, my wife
described the same type of object that my friend saw but, as
before, I saw it differently, more like a spherical object
glowing with the intensity of a "mini sun."
When I saw the
object I ran back to the car to get my camera. It had
disappeared by the time I powered on the camera but I took
some pics of the area it was last. I got one picture with a
fuzzy orb type object in it. When it disappeared it was
funny. It was like when you look straight at a star and you
can't see it but when you look to the side you can. When all
the brightness drained out of the object it was like I could
still sort of see it there, or where it was, if I looked
slightly to the side. It was almost like a bubble that a kid
would blow from their detergent and water mix.
MAY>>
Strathpine, May 11 2008,
1.15pm
My wife and I just saw two glowing white objects
moving in and out of clouds above Strathpine today at
13:15pm. We were looking up at the dark clouds as we walked
to the Westfield mall, and noticed a bright white object
beneath the clouds, moving slowly. It started to move away
from us then turned back towards us. It didn't look like a
plane especially because of the change of direction. It then
moved west and seemed to either disappear or move into the
clouds at a constant speed.
Then the next object appeared.
It looked exactly the same as the first but was closer and
maybe several kilometres from where the other vanished. It
hovered and moved slowly beneath the clouds for about two
minutes before ascending into the clouds and out of sight.
The objects were west of the Westfield mall in Strathpine.
Looking east we saw a plane heading north from the airport
and climbing. The plane was higher altitude than the
objects, yet we could still easily see the wings and tail,
yet the two unidentified objects seemed like glowing white
orbs, quite bright even though they were in the shade of the
dark clouds above them, and there were no apparent wings or
any change in shape as they moved slowly about.
Also at
4:30am the next morning as I got home from work, I stopped
to look at the stars for a few minutes before going inside
and noticed a bright white streak of light at incredible
speed heading north. It didn't look like a meteorite to me
as I have seen a lot of them in the past. A few minutes
later I was still looking up, this time south, and I noticed
a very similar bright white streak heading south. I am going
to have to carry a camera from now on I think.
Togoolawah, May
12 2008
I'm a 13-year old from Togoolawah, which is located about 18 kilometres from
Esk. On the 12th of May I took some pictures from the front verandah of my
house, which faces north. I had been taking photos of the sky when I suddenly
noticed a small dot in the distance. I originally thought it might be a skydiver
as we have a drop zone two kilometres away. Suddenly it dipped and as it rose
back up as I took the photo. I showed the photo to my father who has an interest
in UFOs, who then emailed the pictures to a friend. It was black and shaped like
an upside down bowl with a spire extending from the top. Later that afternoon
after much discussion on the subject of UFOs I decided to go outside to take
more photos just to see if I could find anything else, and I photographed the
white balls and the other thing.
I also wish to report a sighting I had about four years ago in Camira. It was
about 7 o'clock in mid-July. I was at a family party when my older cousin and I
heard the low rumble of jet engines which wasn't unusual but what we saw next
was... A red pulsating ball of light was flying very low over the park followed
by two F1-11s! My cousin and I were rather confused at this but decided not to
tell anyone. As we were leaving the park at about 10.00pm I noticed the light
again. It was flashing from black to red.
Bentleigh, May 14 2008,
7.15pm
I was out having a cigarette with my boyfriend on
Wednesday night 14th May 2008. It was a beautiful clear
night with all stars glistening. One star in particular was
moving very fast across the sky line. We looked at it move
along for about four minutes. It was a star-like moving
object. Maybe it was just a satellite, but I have seen them
before and never seen one move so fast.
Maryborough, May 18 2008,
5.45pm
At approximately 5:45pm in the evening my four
and a half year old boy lay on the ground staring at the
sky. We were just on our way to a family dinner and my
husband and myself told him to get up off the damp grass. He
replied "I'm looking for shooting stars". All of a sudden
with the utmost excitement he started yelling "Ooh ,ooh it's
a shooting star!" To our amazement my husband and myself
witnessed a bright white light which was not a shooting star
-- it shot through the sky from the Tinana side of
Maryborough and straight toward the Maryborough airport
where it simply disappeared into the sky.
This was no normal
aircraft -- it was too quick and did not travel at any
angle, just vertical. The weird thing is that when this
object of bright light had reached the Maryborough airport a
plane had just taken off into the sky at the same time and I
could actually see that there was a difference between the
plane and the bright light. I'm surprised that there
wouldn't be a report at the airport because you would have
thought that the pilot had most definitely seen something.
Meanwhile my mother-in-law had come from the backyard out
onto the street to watch this with us as my son was so
excited to tell her about it. We were all amazed and she
also swears that it was a UFO.
Brisbane, May 19 2008,
9.27pm
I am writing to report a sighting of a flying
object that I could not identify (there, I said it without
that stupid acronym!). Well I never thought it could happen
to me, but then life never ceases to surprise me. My family
and I witnessed a spectacular flyby on the night of 19th May
2008 at approximately 9:27pm. We were watching a DVD and the
TV screen was situated beneath a wide window that faces
south. Suddenly a small light (somewhere between 1/10th and
1/3rd the size of a full moon (and much brighter than a full
moon) appeared in the sky outside. It was travelling
smoothly and quickly toward the south-west.
First it
travelled in a straight line and seemed to also be
descending toward the ground, and then it levelled out and
continued south-west and leaped over the tree line in the
distance over Oxley and whisked away out of sight in the
south-west direction. It made no noise at all. It had a real
presence. I leaped to the window straight away but it was
gone. My wife was pretty freaked out by it for the next 24
hours.
Witnessing the event did not bother me, although I
was very excited about it and I still am. No, what bothered
me was that there has been no media coverage, and I have
spoken to no one else yet who witnessed it. This was not a
barely visible phenomena, it was bright and eye-catching
like fireworks! You couldn't mistake the fact that the
object's flight was purposeful and directed. There were at
least three planes in the sky that I could see at the time.
Somebody must have seen something!
Curramore (Sunshine
Coast), May 27 2008, 10.00pm
On Tuesday night between
10.00pm and 11.00pm my son saw a strange creature
spotlighted in his car headlights. We realise that this
sounds rather unbelievable, and he says that perhaps we
should say nothing as he doesn't want anyone thinking he is
'mad', but I think we should mention it as it seems almost
like an alien encounter to me, and we wondered if anyone has
ever seen anything similar.
My son, who is twenty three
years old, was driving his 'ute to his girlfriend's house on
Tuesday 27th May between 10.00pm and 11.00pm. She lives on a
farm, so it is a rural area, and a country road. It was in
Curramore, in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.
Before
he arrived at her driveway, he had the feeling that he
should keep driving past her house and further up the road,
so he followed his intuition and did so, wondering why he
had such a strong feeling about it. The road eventually
forms a V, and as he drove towards that his ute went over a
rise in the road and suddenly spotlighted a creature
standing in the middle of the fork where the road branched
into two. He said that it was not an animal, and not like a
person exactly. He said that it was about about 4.5 feet
tall and had extremely thin arms, legs and trunk. He said
the waist was tiny, and that the head was much larger than a
human head. He also said that it was completely black as if
it were naked with jet black skin, or perhaps wearing a
close fitting black outfit. He said that it seemed startled
by being caught in his lights, and stood still for a second
staring at him, and then just suddenly disappeared. Strange,
I know, but he says that there is no doubt that he saw it.
He also said that when he turned his car at the V, that
there was no sign of anything or anyone there.
When he drove
to his girlfriend's house, her father wondered why he had
driven past their driveway, but he didn't mention what he
had seen to him in case he thought he was crazy. However, he
said that when he parked the car, a bright light suddenly
shot across in front of his face, dazzling him for a second,
and he doesn't know what that was either. Anyway, make of
that what you will, but my son has no doubts that he saw
what he saw.
Mareeba, May 24 2008,
7.15pm
My wife and I were driving in a north-easterly
direction on a long straight bitumen road approaching the
top of the Great Dividing Range approximately thirty
kilometres west of Mareeba in North Queensland. The time was
approximately 7.15pm, just at the end of twilight. The date
was the May 24 2008.
The surrounding country is mostly
farmland and some sparsely treed areas, with a mountain
range off in the distance to the left. Guesstimate of
approximately two kilometres away. In front of me in the
distance and off slightly to the left my wife and I both
noticed an intensely blue slowly flashing light. The light
would flash three times (not positive of the number of times
it flashed) and then went out for about five seconds. The
colour was a bit darker than sky blue and almost iridescent.
Very pretty and unusual.
At an estimate I would say the
light was a couple of kilometres away. We commented on how
pretty it was but being a farming area we thought there must
be some sort of farming light to scare off flying foxes or
whatever. Then we realised that in the period that the light
was not flashing it had moved at an incredibly fast speed
and then stopped and flashed and then repeated the sequence.
The object travelled in a south-westerly direction quite low
to the ground, lower then any helicopter could fly at night.
The closest the light came to us was a couple of hundred
metres. Strangely, one would assume that an object that
could accelerate and stop so fast would make a lot of noise
but we heard nothing. The light had disappeared behind us in
no more than thirty seconds.
Toowoomba, late May 2008,
7.46pm
I live just two streets away from the Toowoomba
Airport. (Coincidently, Airport Park is directly across the
road from me). Anyway, one night around 7:46pm I was eating
dinner outside, looking at the sky above the park. Suddenly,
a sort of egg-shaped vessel was just hovering in the sky.
The colour was one that I had never seen before -- it could
even be a new colour. It stayed there for about 40 minutes,
but every ten minutes it would move to a different section
of the park, remaining in my line of site all the time. When
the 40 minutes ended it did one quick flight, revisiting the
areas it had already hovered over. Then it seemed to just
gain height, until I couldn't see it anymore.
JUNE>>
Bardon, June 15 2008, 3.40pm
Today, Sunday 15th June 2008, at 15H40 driving from Toowong to Bowmans Park
on Stuartholme Road, I saw a shiny metallic round object in the sky. It was
completely still and did not seem large, though it is difficult to establish at
what height the object was since the sky was very blue with no clouds in the
vicinity, but I feel it must have been fairly high. I kept eye-contact with it
as I drove along slowly for a good minute. As I arrived at Bowmans Park in
Bardon, I got out of the car and looked up at the vast expanse of the sky, which
was completely empty -- the object clearly seen before and very still was gone
altogether, whatever it was. This was witnessed by someone else I was travelling
with.
Browns Plains, June 16 2008, 1.04pm
On Monday 16th June at around 1.04 pm I was looking WSW. I was at the IGA in
Browns Plains and I looked up and saw a plane and it had a huge contrail. I had
only made note because at 6.26am that day I had spotted a comet or near-Earth
something going from a NNW to an ESE course. So I saw this plane trail and then
I saw a white thing behind the plane, but I mean it was a long way behind the
plane (in my estimation). I saw the plane as it got smaller and then the white
thingy raced up to the plane -- right near it from my point of view. Then it
moved straight up above the plane and then just buggered off. I have it on my
mobile phone but I didn't see a thing when I played it back.
Kyogle, June 23
2008, 6.00pm
A friend in Kyogle went out her front door last Monday night around 6.00pm
and saw a round white glowing object in the sky. She got her camera (a small
one) and took a couple of pictures of it moving at tremendous speed and then
stopping changing direction and then just disappearing.
I believe she saw something that wasn't a plane, Venus etc. as I have seen and
had quite a few out of the ordinary sightings and experiences. I only wish I was
there to see it for myself.
Tibrogargan, June 27 2008, 5.05am
It was Friday the 27th of June 2008 at 5:05am. I was riding my bike down a
hill on Tibrogargan drive on my way to work in Narangba, Queensland, and the sky
was clear. I looked at about a 45 degree angle to my southeast and I saw
something in the sky so I hopped off my bike to have a proper look. It was in
the distance and I could just see the outline of the UFO. It was a circular dish
shape with a bump on the top and it was flashing all these different sorts of
colours every 1-2 seconds, so I initially thought it was a plane but it was
flashing blue, green, orange, red and some other colours. I hopped back on my
bike but kept an eye on it on my way to work. I had a last look when I got to
work after about twenty minutes and it had not moved from the position that I
had seen it in initially.
Wallaville (Central Qld
Coast), October 2007 - June 2008
I thought I would write
to let you know of recent experiences/sightings of a unknown
object that I have affectionately called my "resident
light".
I live in a small country town of Wallaville which
is situated near Bundaberg in Queensland. The sightings
first started around October 2007. I was on the phone
talking to a friend when suddenly two very bright, white,
strobing lights appeared in the northern sky. The lights
strobed every 10 ten and when a couple of aircraft flew over
the white lights stopped their strobing. However, it
recommenced once the aircraft were gone.
I have seen these
bright, white, silent strobing lights on and off since then.
However my family didn't believe me until one night in early
April 2008. I was standing outside with my husband and
family when I spotted the "resident light" and showed them.
We were there for about an hour watching this light strobe
every five minutes, and whenever it did, it appeared at
another area. My husband and son then saw this light doing a
fantastic display at a friend's place. It was all quiet,
when last Monday morning (26 May 2008) at 0530hrs, my
husband and I were having our early morning cuppa and smoke
outside. I mentioned that I hadn't seen my "resident light"
when my husband suddenly said, "Well what the bloody hell is
that thing coming this way?"
It was a very bright, large,
silent, white round orb moving in from the northern sky
toward the eastern sky. I went right outside to watch it. It
travelled at a constant speed, only slightly faster than a
plane and its light dimmed as it headed toward the eastern
horizon. Then that same evening at about 2030hrs I was
putting rubbish into my bin at the front when a bright flash
caught my eye. Over the top of my carport, looking toward
the south, at approximately 60 degrees from the horizon, was
a very bright, white stationary light. I stood and watched
it for about ten minutes, then made my way inside. On coming
out again to view some thirty minutes later, it was gone. I
went out the back to locate it, but it was not to be seen
again until last night (2 June 2008) at 2100hrs,
I was
talking to my neighbour and I suddenly saw this bright,
white stationary light in the eastern sky. It appeared to
slightly inch closer then stay put. I phoned my husband and
he said that he could see it as well and he works out at
Biloela. My neighbour, my son, and I took photos of it with
our phone cameras (below) and videos. When my neighbour went
to replay it, the video suddenly disappeared off his phone.
Even rebooting his phone didn't make it reappear. My son's
phone camera played up while trying to take these photos
when it previously didn't have anything wrong with it.
This
light continues to be seen regularly. The pattern of time
ranges from 7.30pm - 10.00pm and 5.00am - 6.00am. It has
mostly been between these times that these goings-on have
occurred. The object seems to change colour when looking
through the camera lens or the binoculars. It changes from
red to blue to white to yellow to green then back to white.
To the naked eye, it was a super bright, white light and
heaps brighter than the brightest star. It could be likened
to a single car light on high beam. My neighbour even
commented on how it changed its colour and reckoned it was
'trippy', and no we weren't on drugs and no weren't drinking
either. We were stone cold sober so to speak.
As for phones
not working, my video mode on my phone wouldn't work while
the camera was directed at it but the video mode did when I
focused on something else, e.g. the flowers near where I was
sitting. All three phones played up in one way or another.
My neighbour's phone lost the video, it just wiped off the
phone, my son's phone camera kept playing up and my video
mode wouldn't play the game. There was no sound, unusual smells or sensations. We were just awe
struck.
Everyone that I know that has seen this light,
including my family and myself, firmly believe that it is
not of this planet. We can't be the only living beings in
this universe. We are perplexed but intrigued at the same
time.
Wallaville (same witness
as previous) 24 June, 5.55am
This morning at 0550 hrs I
was out on my front patio having my morning cuppa. I was
looking out at the sunrise when suddenly, for no reason, I
looked up above me and saw the most awesome thing. This
object (at first I thought it was a piece of space junk)
looked like it was slowly falling to earth, but then it
started to glide off in a northwest direction. It was a
bright, yellow/whitish light that pulsated (became very
bright then faded etc). It made no sound at all as it glided
off -- it didn't speed off, it moved smoothly. It was shaped
similar to an egg but looked like it had a smaller arc shape
above and it looked like it glowed brighter on the top side.
It was at a height higher than aircraft use, and ass it
glided off its light paled but still pulsated.
I was
transfixed and gobsmacked. I just wished that someone else
was around to see it. I didn't even have time to grab the
camera to try and capture it on film. I am providing some
diagrams to help describe what I saw and where it was going
and my line of vision.
JULY>>
Sheldon, July 2 2008, 5.45am
I woke up this morning because I needed to pee. We live on acreage and I am
a guy so I went outside, and as I was nearly done I was looking out into the sky
and I saw a small light (it looked far away) go straight up and then fade and
disappear. I was intrigued so I stayed there. About twenty seconds later the
same thing happened, but this light went straight down slightly right of the
spot where I saw the first light go up. I'm not sure what it was but it wasn't a
plane and I haven't seen a shooting star shoot straight up. It was about 5.45
this morning. I ran straight in and told my girlfriend -- I was a bit excited. I
live in Sheldon and the direction I was looking would have been around southeast
but looking up.
Caloundra, July 3 2008, 6.00pm
I was driving through Currimundi with my mum, on our way home from the video
store, when we noticed a bright white light travelling erratically through the
sky. The light would flash three times, pause, flash three times, pause, etc. It
was zigzagging and changing direction at a speed I've never known a plane to
travel at. Strangest of all, it seemed to follow us as we made our way home, but
we lost sight of it when we reached our house.
Burleigh Heads, July 5 2008, 7.00pm
I found your site on the web while looking for similar sightings to what I
recently experienced and, since you invited sighting reports, I thought I might
as well tell you what I saw just recently.
My partner and I were walking home along the path next to Burleigh Heads beach
on Thursday 5 July 2008 at around 7.00pm. I looked up and saw a very bright star
over the ocean and my partner looked up at it too. We both thought it was the
planet Venus, which we have seen looking about as bright and large before.
The odd thing though was that the star started getting dimmer as we were
watching, as though it was moving away from us. We both stood there watching as
it just got dimmer and dimmer until it completely faded from view in a matter of
a couple of minutes. We found it strange because previously it had been the
brightest star in the sky and we could find no common sense explanation for how
it would be so bright like a regular star and then just disappear like that, as
if moving away from Earth very quickly.
Langwarrin, Vic, July 6 2008, 12.40am
Standing in Cranbourne Rd, Langwarren, I saw five lights immediately above
in sky, description: faded yellow - they resembled stars but faded and off
colour. They were progressing across the sky from south to north at the apex of
the night sky, at 1/4 to half speed of normal shooting stars. They moved in
formation.
I was intrigued and then astonished when they moved -- it all happened very
quickly and my memory may be hazy as I was absolutely stunned to the core at
what I saw. The formation weaved with the central light #3 staying steady and
the top and bottom lights moved up and down. In six seconds they had moved up
and down a couple of times, quickly but with very fluid movements and no jerking
whatsoever.
I said the words "what the ###' at least 15 times (seriously, excuse me), then
called my best mate who normally would believe I was having him on at such a
time of night. I have never been inclined to report anything I've seen in the
sky but this rocked me. I would love to hear an explanation if you have one.
Sunnybank Hills, July 23 2008, 12.30pm
I would like to report to you not a sighting but a sound I heard moving
through the air on Wednesday the 23rd July at approximately 12:30 in the
afternoon. I was inside the house and heard go over the house what I can only
describe as a very large aircraft swooping very low over the roof. but with no
engine noise at all. Accompanying the very clear and almost loud deep, kind of
buffeting/swooshing sound, was a loud constant whistle coming from it too.
I am familiar with the sound an aircraft makes when it is gliding without its
engines running or idling. There was absolutely NO idling propeller, motor or
jet engine associated with this, other than the loud whistle sound as though a
protruding piece from whatever it was was whistling as it cut through the air.
I could hear the sound swiftly approach the house, pass over it at low level
(maybe 50-100 feet?) then disappear away, over a period of only perhaps 6-8
seconds. In fact I slightly cringed as it really did alarm me by the suddenness
and weirdness of it, and felt to me in those seconds like an aircraft without
any power about to come down after just missing the house!
I live in a very quiet part of Sunnybank Hills Qld, where light and airline
aircraft associated with both Archerfield and Brisbane airports often fly past
or overhead, causing a very big difference in noise and I know what they all
sound like. There were no gusty wind conditions at the time either, just light
rain.
I am a 39 year old male with all senses and faculties in good order and
definitely no influences from drugs, alcohol, paranoia or schizophrenia.
Ascot, July 28 2008, 5.30pm
We are convinced this was a UFO. Sighted from Ascot, Brisbane, when looking
towards the east, there was a very bright light high in sky, moving very slowly.
It was not moving from the same spot but when looking through binoculars it
appeared to be rotating, pulsating and was shaped a bit like a jellyfish. We
didn't have a camera except on a mobile so couldn't take a photo sadly! It was
still there after around 30 minutes, at 6.00pm.
AUGUST>>
Toowong, August
15 2008, 1.00pm
This afternoon at approximately 1.00pm I was a passenger on a stationary bus
outside Toowong Bus Depot waiting for the bus to change drivers/shifts, when I
noticed out the window what I thought was a silver plane in the sky in the
direction of Toowong Cemetery. I looked at it thinking it was unusual for a
plane because it was silver and had more of a round shape. I stared at it for
about 20 seconds and then suddenly it disappeared completely. It was there one
second and then completely vanished into thin air the next. I'm not sure what it
was, but the sky was cloudless and bright blue so it could not have disappeared
behind any clouds. I didn't say anything to anyone on the bus (approximately 10
other passengers) because it sounded so ridiculous.
Cairns, August 16 2008, 9.00pm
I just wanted to run something by you. Last night at around 9:00pm I was
having a cigarette outside. I was looking at the stars when I saw an awesome
shooting star. I have recently bought a video camera and decided to see if I
could pick up stars and what not on the camera. Anyway, during my testing of
this I started filming the moon. I saw a faint light streak past the right hand
side of the moon. Pretty sure I just caught a shooting star. I stopped filming
and went inside to check the footage. Now, what I wanted to run by you is while
checking the footage, about 2-3 seconds before the shooting star there is
something going right to left just below the moon, going at a speed way beyond
the shooting star. That's why I didn't see it at first. You can't distinguish
the object and of course it's blurry. But it was going so damn fast you wouldn't
get a clear picture anyway. What do you think.
Gympie, August 19 2008, 7,00pm
On Tuesday night in Gympie about 7:00pm I was putting out the rubbish. I
walked back to house in a north-east direction. I saw what looked like Venus, a
very very bright star if not brighter than Venus. It wasn't Venus because it was
moving slowly like a plane and I could see Venus a bit to my right. I called my
daughter out to see it she saw it. Then a couple of seconds later it turned
reddish then shrank to a dot, sped up, and disappeared out of sight. I wonder if
you have any idea what is was or did anyone else see it.
OCTOBER>>
Cairns, October 6 2008, 7.00pm
On the 6th of October at approximately 7.00pm I observed over Cairns a very
bright flashing light outside our atmosphere, travelling east but turning north
in a very tight turn, followed by a satellite travelling north. Within the next
20 minutes another four satellites crossed this point over cairns. The flashing
light stopped as soon as the object took the straight path north.
SEPTEMBER>>
Gold Coast, September 7 2008, 1.30pm
At 1.30pm on Sunday September 7 2008 I was walking my dog in parkland at
Labrador on the Gold Coast. I am interested in aviation and whenever I hear a
engine I look skywards. Over a period of a few minutes I saw a red 737 and the
distinctive underbelly of another carrier commencing final approaches into what
I assume would be Brisbane airport. Shortly after the two jets had gone for some
reason I looked skyward again. I saw a white circular object that after a few
seconds of examination I considered to be a white balloon that had been released
from a kid's birthday party. I studied this object for a good five minutes. When
I first saw it, it was approaching from over the ocean and heading in a westerly
direction. The moon was also visible and I realised that the object was moving
and stopping. I discounted the notion that it was a balloon because it had too
much shape and it was too high. I have some skydiving experience and I would
hazard a guess that it was higher than 10,000 ft. I considered that it was a
military jet in a vertical climb but this is doubtful due to the time it was
suspended in the sky. It was quite strange and I could not explain it so I
looked away. A moment later I looked back into the sky and saw two more of
exactly the same objects coming in high from over the sea. They were moving in
the same direction but were in a loose formation, one in front of the other and
out to the side. I came across a group of adults and children fishing and
pointed out one of the objects I had watched to them. They also saw the object
which was now inland and to the left of the sun. I would describe them as very
bright stars but in the middle of a bright sunny day.
Carindale, September 9 2008, 6.45pm
I'd like to know if anyone else reported a UFO sighting over the
Carindale/Carina area at about 6.45pm last night? The object appeared at about
45 degrees in the sky southeast of the Carindale Shopping Centre. I first
sighted it with a friend as a bright gold colour a bit like a bright star. At
first I thought it was a plane although it didn't have any flashing lights. As
soon as I commented to my friend that I thought it was a UFO if slowly moved to
the east the same level and then faded. I figured if it was a satellite I could
keep tracking it as it was a very clear night. It definitely wasn't a falling
star either. Very interesting!
Coburg, Vic, September 12 2008, 1.47am
I just saw some kind of UFO. I was driving home through Coburg, Victoria at
about 1:47am this morning and saw a flash and a red and purple light that seemed
to be falling at high speeds through the air over what might have been Fitzroy
or Brunswick. It only lasted one or two seconds, but it was definitely there and
very strange. I'd love to know if anyone else reports this.
Parkinson, 12 or 19 September, 12 or 19 2008
Myself and a friend witnessed the following event which may be easily
explained or may not. Approximately 7:30-8:00pm on either Friday 12th or 19th September, we were
sitting outside in Parkinson Brisbane. It was a clear night, a light aircraft
had flown over closely followed by a helicopter (possibly an emergency medical
heli). After the helicopter had passed (the noise was still audible) we saw a
green light moving at high speed quite low and horizontal. It emitted no noise
and was travelling too fast for a commercial airline. It went in a straight
line, it wasn't falling. We lost sight of it due to the neighbour's roof. I
originally thought it may have been a flare from the helicopter however it
didn't fall to the ground nor fizzle out. It's hard to estimate the altitude but
we both thought it would have been lower then the helicopter.
One question that comes to mind if there is not a rational explanation is why
would some type of craft have a bright light so as to be easily seen? I should
also point out neither of us had been drinking nor consumed any drugs.
Bonville, NSW, September 26 2008, 5.00pm
I am a UFO sceptic, however my wife and I saw a strange flying object this
afternoon at Bonville, NSW, Friday 26th September 2008 at approximately 5:00pm.
Clear sky with no cloud. We are wildlife carers and have a young Wood Duck in
our care that was looking up at something above that we thought may be a hawk or
eagle, so both of us looked up to see a strange shining object that was moving
quite fast through the sky. I first thought it was just a high plane in the sky
however it was very shiny and appeared to have two sets of wings with long front
and rear sections. It was heading in a south-westerly direction. There was no
sound at all and the speed at which it moved was far quicker than I have seen
with any plane I have ever seen before. We both have good eyesight and not
drinking at the time. Maybe some type of military plane?
Taren Point, Sydney, September 27 2008, 8.35pm
My husband, 13 year old son and I were travelling over the Captain Cook
Bridge Taren Point, Sydney heading south towards our home at Lilli Pilli at
approximately 8.35pm on Saturday 27th September, 2008.
We saw four lights to the left of us which were shining in the sky. Two of these
lights moved towards each other and the other two were stationary on the outer.
A car heading in the same direction as us pulled over and stopped presumably to
look at it. There were a number of cars heading in both directions.
Perth, September 29 2008, 7.48pm
On Monday night 29/9/08 at approximately 7:48pm I saw a strange light with a
greenish or aqua colour tinge floating in the sky above Perth. It then proceeded
to go east at tremendous speed climbing into the air and disappearing, as if the
light had been switched off.
OCTOBER>>
Townsville, 11 October 11 2008, 9.00pm
We live in Cranbrook. I just want to know if anyone else saw it, or know of an
aircraft that might have five lights visible at once (that the red and green are
back to front) and a vertical pale blue glowey light on the tail "fin"... gee
this sounds out there just asking but its all true and we all saw it. Maybe
there is a reasonable explanation... or at least someone else saw it...
Daughter (9) and I were outside, Ruby (the mutt) was doing what dogs do. We saw
a strange looking plane in the sky.
It came from the left, which is a flight path and headed in the right direction.
It suddenly became larger quickly and the lights were all wrong. The red lights
were on the right, and the green lights were on the left. There were two at the
back and two at the front. (You shouldn't be able to see all four lights at once
anyhow when a plane is flying?) I saw an extra blue light there... and the sense
of a large tail fin that was a very dim glowy electric light blue.
I could only make out the lights not the shape of the aircraft except briefly.
It seemed longer than a large airplane and somehow thicker too. I watched it get
to the palm trees, then raced over towards the fence to keep watching it. It
seemed much closer, and seemed to glide somehow... or hover....
The kids came out and my son and nephew caught the last few seconds and daughter
missed it. It seemed to be a lot closer than my mind could accept, but we
couldn't hear it and you just don't expect to see something so unusual. Its
descent path was sharp enough to make me think it would not be able to land at
the airport, that it was landing much closer and off the flight path.
Colac, Victoria,
October 12 2008, 5.00am
On Sunday 12th October at 5.00am near Colac, Victoria I saw a thing in the
sky while getting in the cows to milk. I first thought it was a flare but it was
not red, it was white with a blue tinge. It had a rear burning blue sparky
flame. It was well below the height of a fast flying plane. It was going in a
straight horizontal north to south direction. It was very fast and I watched it
fly a long distance at a fast pace for about six seconds then it disappeared.
When I returned to the dairy I mentioned it to my husband and he said that he
saw it also, but as we discussed it we realised that the one he saw would have
been behind me so there were two. The one my husband saw lit up the area, made
two flashes like a camera would and was flying low at about 30-40 feet. It did
not have the sparkey rear flame. There is a line of trees and he would not have
seen the one I saw, and the one he saw would have been behind me. There was no
sound at all. My husband described his as a pale blue or cornflour blue. They
were an elongated shape. There was no way it was a piece of burning space junk
or a rocket as they were flying straight with no arch. So what were they??? The
morning was clear, we could see stars and no cloud but it was very black.
Mitchell, Western Qld, October 22 2008
I am sending you a photo taken on Tuesday 22nd October 2008.
Mitchell in far western Queensland was having a street parade at 2.00pm for the
showing of the Melbourne cup.
I took a series of photos of the parade, in quick succession on an Olympus E 300
SLR Digital Camera. I didn't see the objects in the air at the time, but was
surprised at what was on the photos. Everyone thinks I am nuts, but they can't
explain the images. There were no balloons in the air, and it isn't a bird.
Melbourne VIC,
October 2008, 11.00pm
Me, my mate and my girlfriend parked my car at Dendy park. The park being
very big and having a sports oval, we were all standing outside listening to
music when, out of nowhere, a beam of light lit up the oval as well as beaming
down on all three of us. Keeping in mind that the night sky was crystal clear,
at first I thought it was lightning, but as I say the night sky was crystal
clear. The beam lasted for about five seconds and made me grab my mate instead
of my girlfriend. After that we bolted into the car and drove away as fast as we
could.
NOVEMBER>>
Coolgardie-Kalgoorlie, November 1 2008, 4.00am
G and I were driving north towards Kalgoorlie when we saw a bright yellow
light in the sky travelling below plane height. It descended to just above tree
top height. We thought at first it was a shooting star, but it then began moving
from one side of the road to the opposite side. This light went from one to two
lights constantly almost like it was spinning.
We began to speed up to see what the light was. It was blinding us like someone
was highbeaming us. At this point we got some video footage. We reached the
speed of 140km and still weren't catching. Somehow it knew we were chasing it.
We caught up to a truck that signalled for us overtake. The truck knew something
was there. The truck then swerved from side to side then off the road on to the
gravel.
We then continued after Coolgardie where we saw the light again. We began chase
again and reached speeds of over 160km. The radio turned off. There looked like
tornado in front of the light but the trees did not show any sign of there being
wind around. Dust was created like a field of protection. The dust was at least
four metres high and was stationary as if something was hovering. We were
shocked and brought the car to a halt, scared to continue. We continued to see
the light until the last lookout before Kalgoorlie.
Brisbane November 16 2008
I would like to report an object I filmed [above] on the 16/11/08, during
the most destructive storm to hit Brisbane in 20 years. The object was filmed on
a JVC camera mounted on a tripod with 5% manual zoom with the focus locked. The
object appears from beside some palms around 200 metres away and rises up on a
slight angle then more or less does a u-movement away to the south into a 40
knot head wind. This thing looked exactly like a dandelion seed or one of those
round plasma balls. But due to the conditions I know it was impossible for a
fluffy white seed to be floating around like that and in the available light my
camera would not have picked it up this well.
I do believe this object is special and needs to be investigated. I have
downloaded a clip of this object onto YouTube. If you would like to view the
footage search for 'rrmert' and it is under a heading about a plasma ball.
Narrabri, NSW,
Thursday November 27 2008, 4.15am
I live just outside of Narrabri 2390 NSW on the Kaputar Road, and when I
went to work this morning, at 4.15am after rain that night, you could see a lot
of stars in the sky. I only live eight kilometres out of town and as I was
travelling along Kaputar Road I watched the stars and there was a star… I
thought it was a little bit out of shape, more like an oval with light like a
stripe. I saw that for about two kilometres and then it come closer. It was an
egg-shaped thing with dull lights flashing and I was too scared to pull up and
have a look. I was really scared. If somebody had been with me I would have
stopped, but not by myself. It did not move and it was the size of an egg with
three dull lights flashing.
Childers, Sunday November 30 2008, evening
My partner and myself have just witnessed something in the sky over
Childers. We do have it on digital video and it is two very bright lights which
took approximately 45 minutes to clear the horizon. There is also a third light
which appears from nowhere on the footage. This was not planes or satellites,
there was no noise.
DECEMBER>>
Gold Coast, Monday December 1 2008, 10.15am
Approx 10.15am my parents and I were driving and we saw from the car, in the
distance, what appeared to be a 'typical' UFO-style aircraft. It was a saucer
shape. It appeared silver/grey in colour, and was drifting steadily across the
day sky, over the Gold Coast Hinterland. We drove past a shop, and when I went
to try locate it in the sky again I was unable to see it.... I was stoked when I
first saw it, because I am a big believer in the phenomenon. My parents are
doubters, but hopefully the truth will become more apparent in due course.
Holloway's Beach, Thursday December 4 2008, 7.40pm
At least five adults at Holloways Beach (north of Cairns) witnessed four
strange lights in the sky about 1940 hrs on Thursday 4th December 2008.
The lights were high in the sky and moving noiselessly at slow speed from east
to west and then moving rapidly towards the north-west.
Initially we saw three bright orange lights in a triangular formation, then saw
a fourth light come in from the east and zoom to catch up to the other three
lights. With binoculars we were unable to see any further detail, other than that the
light was circular and orange in colour, and seemed to be glowing or burning.
Nothing was reported on our local news.
We have seen other strange lights in the sky in other parts of the State in the
past, but this is the first time we saw four lights at the one time.
Narangba, December 11 2008, evening
An exceptionally bright light was observed hovering stationary and silent at
an estimated height of around 40-45000ft, around 30-40km south from our
location. It faded in and out, predominantly faced north in direction, and was
way too bright and high to be commercial or military in nature.
Brisbane, Tuesday December 12 2008, 2.30pm
Last Tuesday afternoon (about 2:30-3:00 Qld time) 2nd December 2008, I was
in Brisbane when my daughter called me outside to look at this strange black
object [image right]. I thought it must have been a balloon, however it was
travelling slowly in an east to west direction against the wind. About half an
hour later another object [image right] or objects appeared. A third object
appeared in the east about 30 minutes after the first object went west.
These objects were seen by my daughter, wife and father-in law as well as other
guests staying at the motel. The objects were moving against the wind and were
soundless. To the naked eye they appeared larger than on the photo and slowly
changed shape.
Helensvale,
December 22 2008, 8.55pm
I live in Helensvale (Gold Coast QLD) and last night (22 December) at 8:55pm
was outside with my mum and my sister and were talking when my mum looked up and
said 'look.' She jokes around a lot of the time but she looked serious so I did,
and for about half a second saw a light then it disappeared. At first we thought
it was a meteor but it went from a sideward direction. We were talking about and
I was just about to get my dad when a massive yellow light zoomed across the sky
from a down and up direction. Myself, my mum and my sister witnessed this and my
sister said it started in mid-air. This one was moving west and about 500 metres
up. I would think other people saw this.
Carseldine, December 23 2008, 7.00pm
On the 23rd of December at about 7:00pm we were driving from the airport
back to my house, which is in Carseldine. I saw a big bright ball of light, with
mist around it. At first I thought it was a plane's headlight coming into land,
but realised that when we stopped at the traffic lights it wasn't moving, just
staying in the one spot. I watched it all the way home, and when I got home I
got my partner to come and have a look too. It kind of looked as though there
was a searchlight moving inside the mist from side to side. We had been watching
for maybe 40 minutes when the light started to get smaller, as if it was moving
away from us. It got smaller and smaller, to a point where if we looked straight
at it we couldn't really see it, but if we looked to the side we could! We then
noticed that the light was kind of swinging from side to side, and the mist that
was around it looked as if it was moving. The light also moved up and then down
again, quite quickly. The light then got hazier and hazier until it looked like
a faint misty patch in the sky, and it would fade out completely, then come back
again, starting as a small dot then getting hazy again. Also, when it had faded
away for the first time, we saw a bright flash in the sky just above where we
had last seen it. Very weird, I have reported this sighting and am going to
watch out again at the same time tomorrow night, just to make sure it's not a
celestial object! Did anyone else see anything?
Brisbane, December 31 2008, 2.30am
I was in Brisbane city, at the Jade Buddah restaurant. It was 2:30am and I
was standing at the upper outdoor area looking out into the sky (Story Bridge
ahead of me). The sky was fairly illuminated for that time of night (I've tried
to represent this in the attached mockup image [below right]) so it wasn't as
though I had any difficulty seeing the object.
The object I saw was blue-grey in colour, very similar in colour to the sky
behind it. It looked solid in the same way you can distinguish that a plane is
solid from the sky behind it. It did not contrast very much with the sky behind
it. It was not shiny, but had more of a matte finish. It didn't have any other
distinguishing details, but the shape of it was easy to make out. The upper
section looked to be half a sphere, with the middle section looking like a
saucer shape, larger and blown out in the middle. The lower part of the object
was a curved/half sphere shape (smaller than the upper section).
It appeared at the top of my peripheral vision and slowly made its way down and
into the background until it became a tiny dot and finally disappeared. It
looked to be travelling extremely fast, though the way it was moving was
extremely smooth as though the speed it was moving at was constant. Three to
four seconds may not sound like a lot, but it seemed like a very long time while
I had the object within my vision.
It did not look like anything I have ever seen in the sky before. I'd like to
stress that I got an extremely good look at whatever it was and there was no way
I was mistaking this for a plane or anything similar.
South Bank, December 31 2008. 8.30pm - midnight
I would like to report a sighting of some unusual objects above the South
Bank fireworks on New Years Eve. I was looking into the sky because I have heard
UFOs can sometimes be seen around fireworks. I saw two dull objects very high
side by side, one slightly behind the other as they passed directly above South
Bank. They looked like satellites, but I thought it unusual that two would be so
close. Then they both pulsed a bright white light at exactly the same time for
one second. I was startled by that and called to some other people to look also
-- when they looked another object that appeared the same moved across the same
part of the sky but on a slightly different angle to the other two, and the two
people confirmed what I saw.
A little later I saw some more objects a lot lower in the sky, up-river from
South Bank. These were different colours, bright green, red and white, about
eight of them all up, but at one time there were five that could be seen, and
again I called to two other people to look and they also saw the objects.
However I think these objects could have been Chinese lanterns released from
across the river somewhere, all were going the same direction as the wind and at
different heights. The first objects I saw were very different to the objects
that appeared later, as they were dull until the simultaneous pulse of bright
white light, and were very high, directly above the fireworks. All the objects
were seen after the 8:30 pm fireworks and before the midnight fireworks.
MISCELLANEOUS
REPORTS>>
Maryborough,
late 2006, 2.00am, reported 2008
I am a firm
believer in UFOs and especially since I have had a few
unexplainable things happen during my life. One incident
that still baffles me happened at about 2.00am in the
morning during late 2006. My husband awoke and said that he
couldn't sleep and he was going to go outside for a
cigarette -- which for him to go outside was a bit odd at
that time of the morning. Anyway I decided I would join him
and we both sat on the veranda for a short while, about
fifteen minutes. To our amazement we both noticed a bright
orange light somewhat like a fireball in the sky -- to me it
was huge. I started getting really intrigued about it. He
was trying to tell me that it was one of the Bruce Highway
foglights, which do actually glow an orange colour and can
be seen from the far left side of our veranda, but I argued
the point with him as I knew it definitely was not. We both
agreed that it wasn't. The ball of light looked as though it
was some sort of glowing fireball of energy and it had
appeared about a metre above the treeline up our road and
started to descend down through the trees - -you could tell
this as we watched it move down past tree limbs. I was
baffled by this experience and still am to this day. The
funny thing is in mid-2007 my sister-in-law, mother- and
father-in-law saw the same thing from their Gympie property.
It just confirms that both they and myself actually seem to
have seen the same thing.
Glass House
Mountains 1996, reported 2008
About 12 years
ago in mid-winter of 1996 a young man then aged 16 and his
girlfriend were waiting outside for a lift to work at 4.30am
and saw a massive light in the distance come closer and pass
over them silently at 15 metres elevation. It was triangular
with nine metres to each side and had a light on each corner.
The sighting lasted for about five minutes.
Mt Rowan,
Victoria, January 1995, reported 2008
I was parked on
the top of Mt Rowan having a wee when I looked into the sky
directly above my head thinking what a clear starry night it
was, when a large craft flying at only 500 metres flew
slightly above me. I could clearly see the shape and some of
the detail on the craft. It was larger than a 747, flew lower
than a Cessna and made no noise at all. Underneath it had four
rectangular lights on the bottom about the size of roller
doors. It had pipework visible around the lights. It was black
and shaped like a diamond. As it flew over I opened the car
doors yelling for the others (my wife and brother-in-law) to
get out and look. It flew away from us slowly and seemed to
follow the terrain as it went. It also had a flashing red
light on the back of it. It did not seem to have a tail of any
sort.
Cairns,
1992-2002, reported 2008
I first saw
this UFO in 1992 in Cairns, then again in 1993 in Toowoomba,
and then frequently back in Cairns from 1993 until 2002. It
is about the length of a Greyhound bus but only about five
feet high. perhaps twice as wide as a bus. It is dark grey
with darker squares over the surface that seem to protrude,
but are actually set into the surface and look
3-dimensional. It has no lights or windows and no landing
gear. I have seen it hover about a foot off the ground with
a stiff vertical movement, straight up and down. It is
silent with a very faint greenish/blue glow that is only
visible at close range. It moved up or down but without
rolling or pitching.
Texas,
Queensland, 1990s, reported 2008
This report
was told to me by a family member. They were looking out of
a window in their house to the east and saw a disc-shaped
object appear from behind the shed about 50 metres away. It
rose to about 25 metres above the ground and moved towards
the house, but when it got near the house it turned and went
towards the dam and just vanished. This was seen by two
people who were in the house at the time. I can't remember
what year this happened, I think early 1990s and the person
in question was a real sceptic, but not now. They know what
they saw.
Townsville,
February 1 2003, reported December 200
After sighting a UFO in 2000 (a strange orange light following a car. The
article made the local paper due to the numerous sightings), I have been
actively looking out for UFOs.
In Townsville, on the night of 01 Feb 2003, at roughly 9:15pm after coming back
from a jog, I was doing some stretches on my second story unit balcony. As I was
glancing up I sighted three white lights in a triangular formation that looked
quite high up. They were spaced quite far apart, easily far enough to be three
separate objects. They were travelling quite fast -- it took roughly seven
seconds for them to travel from directly above me to the horizon. I could tell
they were quite high, as they travelled above clouds. They were silent, with no
smoke or vapour trail. The lights were about the same size as a satellite, yet
they were about two or three times as bright.
After some research, these light formations may possibly have been US Navy
tracking satellites used since the 70's and 80's. But they are nothing like any
satellites I have seen before. The strangest thing I thought was that this was
seen on the same night as the space shuttle Columbia disaster.
Gold Coast, December 1999, 10.00pm, reported December 2008
It was New Years Eve (1999) and we were sitting on a balcony watching
fireworks. As we were watching the fireworks a bright light (yellow) appeared
over the ocean which lead us to believe it may be a flare or a firecracker when
it began to come towards us. As it came towards us it flew past us and the
neighbourhood making no sound whatsoever. The neighbours came out and watched as
it flew over the hills, vanishing.
Narwee (NSW),
1976, reported June 27 2008
This may be too far back, but I'd like to report something I saw back in
1976. I was only 11 at the time, but I remember the actual date, as it had such
an impact on me.
It was approximately 9.00-10.00pm on Saturday 18 December 1976. I was in the
backyard of my parents' home in Narwee (Sydney suburb). I was in the backyard
because it was a very warm night and I had a received an early Christmas
present, a trampoline, and my parents were only metres away just inside the back
door talking to visiting neighbours. I was jumping on the trampoline facing the
south-eastern sky when a large, bright red, round glowing "light" appeared in
the sky and started moving left to right at the approximate speed of a plane,
but it was about the size of the moon when it is very large. It was along the
approximate flight path for planes coming IN to Sydney Airport, which means the
planes only fly right to left along that flight path, not left to right (I am
getting chills again just thinking about it). I ran inside very quickly, but the
only other person in my household who had seen it was my brother, but it was
through a closed bathroom window which was made of corrugated/opaque glass, and
he had dismissed it.
Brighton, Vic,
2002-2004, reported June 18 2008
I chanced upon your website today as I was thinking about an incident I
witnessed a few years ago but never reported, and decided to see if I could find
any other reports about it. I wish I could remember the date, but the best I can
do is say it was somewhere between September 2002 and April 2004. It was a
Saturday night and would have been somewhere between September to April of one
of those years as it was not a cold night.
I was in Bay Street Brighton (a bayside suburb of Melbourne) and my husband and
I were walking after being out for dinner. In the sky we saw a number of moving
lights in formation. Each one seemed to have a red and green light, and in total
were five 'objects'. They were moving in a V-formation with one in the lead.
They moved very swiftly, noiselessly, and changed direction across the sky
abruptly and several times, which made me sure it was not an object "falling".
The lights were very bright and the whole spectacle was quite obvious. They were
visible for about five minutes then took off quickly toward the east. There are
a number of restaurants and bars in the street and there were quite a lot of
people outside looking at the sky at this point, so I know there were a number
of witnesses and I have always been surprised that I never heard any reports
about it (but then again, I didn't report it either!). A group of people stopped
us and a girl asked us "what do you think that was?" to which my husband replied
"I'm tipping UFO!" Unfortunately he was joking as he thinks it was 'some kind of
meteor'. Personally I don't believe it could be, due to the way the lights
seemed to move and were not falling. I could believe some kind of experimental
aircraft but it did not move like a conventional plane. If it was a helicopter,
it made no such noise.
Lake Cootharaba, Cooloola, 1991, reported June 2008
An unusual light sighting by one of your correspondents from Tansy has
prompted me to add this information. I remember the year as 1991, the year Jim
Sorley was elected as mayor of Brisbane.
We launched our small yacht at Boreen Point on Lake Cootharaba, went for dinner
then just after dusk we sailed over to Teewah Landing to spend the night. As we
set out from Boreen Point my then seven-year old daughter asked me what the
bright star to the left of the sand patch was. Although it was very bright and
about two or three times the usual size of Venus, I replied that it must be
Venus. 'Venus' stayed there for the time it took to get across the lake --
around half an hour. Not long after arriving the light moved off to the side and
disappeared below the horizon. It seemed unusual but we didn't think too much
about it. After a short while, four lights appeared and over a period of about
ten minutes sat side by side or formed a box formation. The four lights
disappeared and two reappeared before dropping below the horizon for the last
time. The lights never climbed higher than 10 or 15 degrees above the horizon,
almost north from Teewah landing. My trig calculations to Tin Can bay at these
angles would put them at an altitude of around 15 miles if they were over the
army base at Tin Can Bay, so I figured that due to their brightness they had to
be over the Cooloola national park area. The lights were incandescent in colour,
not flashing or pulsating other than the formation 'flying'.
Noosa, 1996,
reported July 2008
I was sitting in my backyard with my mum and grandpa one night around
8.00pm, looking through photo albums, when we noticed four green lights moving
very slowly through the sky. They travelled in a horizontal direction and
appeared to be unusually close to the ground, as we viewed them through the
trees that surrounded our home. We watched them for five minutes or so, until
they moved out of our line of vision. The lights seemed to be much closer to the
earth than any aeroplane travels, as they were bigger and brighter than the
lights on a plane. And in any case, planes don't have green lights!
Wollongong, NSW,
1996, reported July 2008
This is a sighting that my now-husband and I saw in 1996 when we were both
students at the University of Wollongong, NSW. At the time we were just friends
and one evening we walked up a hill just behind the university, under the shadow
of Mt Keira. We lay back on the grass and were looking at the stars whilst
talking. We saw a small faint light like a star moving in a straight line from
north to south very slowly. We thought that it must be a satellite. Then it
stopped. Still, we didn't think anything was strange about that. Then it rushed
back in the direction that it came from. It didn't fade out like a shooting
star. It moved so fast and was so high up it could not possibly have been a
plane. This is the only sighting either of us have had but the memory of it is
vivid, as though it happened yesterday.
Ipswich October
2004, reported July 2008
Saturday (02 Oct 2004) I was at RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) base
Amberley watching the model planes before the big guns came out. I saw past a
model plane and spotted a clear sphere in the direction of Denmark Hill as
viewed from a little north of the old control tower west of the main strip. It
seemed far away and was travelling east-south-east in a straight and level
flight. Its size was 3mm diameter as measured with the fingers at full arm's
length. Its height was about 20 degree above horizon. Its appearance was of a
glass ball in that I could see the complete spherical outline with the left side
being slightly brighter. This agrees with where the sun was (not sure of the
time as I did not take my watch that day, however the program (I have a copy)
states that the model aircraft were on from 10:41am to 11:05am.
It only dawned on me then that I had my 35mm SLR and a 200mm lens with me so I
quickly opened the bag, fitted the 200mm (took about 15 seconds) looked up and
tried and tried to see it again but could not. I raised the camera up and looked
through the lens (only slight advantage for the eyes in object size but screens
out side light) but to no avail. What a bummer! If only I had prepared my camera
upon arrival I reckon I would have caught it and at a size that would blow up
nicely! My feelings are as follows: It was not a balloon due to its straight and
determined flight path, its speed, and its size, which is difficult for me to
work out though it gave me the immediate impression that it was large, say three
plus meters across. This impression was formed due to my experience of observing
aircraft at altitude and distance (ex-RAAF and keen follower of Air Force
displays) and my rather good view over the Amberley area from my street in
Sadliers Crossing.
It seemed rigid, as if it was a solid globe structure. It did not immediately
cause me to think it was unusual as I have seen much in the way of junk flying
around in the sky especially paper and plastic bags! It was the fact that it was
so straight and purposeful in flight that grabbed my interest.
Killarney, Qld,
March 3 2007 (reported July 2008) (relates also to 04.03.2007 - below)
A male was outside looking for his cats. He was looking south (toward
NSW/QLD border) over the roof of the neighbour’s house. Two bright lemon-yellow
lights moved from west to east in the southern sky between 15 & 30 degrees above
the horizon. The lights were moving at a slow pace. He said that the lights were
as bright as Venus. They looked to be approximately five miles away. There was a
consistent light source from these lights. The top light was leading and it
faded first. Then the second light that was behind and below the leading light
vanished (not faded) 30 seconds after the first light faded. It was
approximately one minute duration of observing these lights. The man went on to
say that there are usually no major visible stars in this area of the sky at
that time of night at this time of year. The weather was clear with no wind and
a warmish temperature. The sizes of the lights were approximately two
millimetres at arms length.
Killarney, Qld, March 4 2007
04:00am (reported July
2008)
A male (same person as above [03.04.2007]), during the next morning was
outside facing north when he felt the urge to look directly above him (zenith)
and saw through the light cloud cover the moon, but below the cloud cover he saw
the same two lemon-yellow lights he saw the night before. The lights were still
approximately two millimetres in diameter at arms length. The lights were
sitting still in the sky. The man didn't stay to watch what might happen, and
decided to go back to bed.
Killarney, Qld, November 29 2007 5:12pm (reported July 2008)
(Personal sighting from Kay McCullock.) A large storm moved through the area
and once the lightning had ceased I went out to take some photos of the clouds
to see if anything 'interesting' was maybe flying in and out of them. I began
taking photos (with my 12 mega pixel digital camera/video) looking north from
Killarney over Mt Colliery. On one of these photos I decided to zoom in 50% on
the area. With the naked eye you could only see clouds. But once I downloaded
the camera onto the laptop, I noticed a shiny and partially shadowed-looking
disc-shaped object. All the clouds had moved north-east (behind the disc) and
the western sky was clearing so there was a little sunlight shining through,
hence the shiny disc. I didn't see it with the naked eye; there were no
commercial or military or other air traffic in the area; no wind, it was still;
the temperature was cool. In the photo [below] you can see a 'haze' around the
disc. I did not see the disc vanish or move off with the naked eye or in the
camera. Also to note, after taking that particular photo, my very full camera
battery all of a sudden became flat and the camera shut down.
Moree, NSW,
early 2008 (reported November 2008)
As I am a Road Rep and account manager I drive for a living and earlier this
year I was doing a trip to Moree. Whilst I was on the road between Narrabri NSW
and Moree I saw a beautiful sunset and took some shots on my Blackberry handset
which has a low resolution camera.
I was surprised when a few months later I decided to download all three images
to my computer and saw the shape in front of the sun. Please tell me your
thoughts or chances it may be a UFO or just plane etc. I think it's weird it is
there for a second and within 5-10 seconds next photo gone.
Gold Coast 1994,
reported October 2008
Between September and October in 1994 myself and a female friend were
driving from Currumbin north towards Nerang on the back highway. We had just
travelled 3/4 of our journey when I noticed out of the left hand side window
looking out to the west (as I was in the passenger seat) some orange lights,
probably between 10-15 of them. I told my friend to pull over on the side of the
highway so we could get a better look at what was going on. We both watched
these lights for a few minutes making geometric shapes in the sky then just
flying around erratically. Other cars had pulled over to watch these lights,
approximately seven other cars of people.
My question is did any other people report this sighting as I feel a bit stupid
writing to you now so long after the event. The dates are not as close as I
would like them to be for you to check your records as it happened so long ago
but I'm hoping you might be able to tell me that there was an investigation and
the powers that be found a meteor shower happened that day or something to that
effect.
