JANUARY>>
Bracken Ridge, Brisbane,
Sunday January 8 2007, 7.20pm
A man was performing a left
turn from Bracken Ridge Road into Norris Road and saw a big
white glowing stationary light in the sky at an elevation of
about 45 degrees. He pulled over and continued to observe it.
It was positioned in a patch of clear sky above one cloud and
below another. It moved behind the bottom cloud and came out
again in about 40 seconds. It then descended slowly to 20
degrees over a period of about 10 to 15 minutes. He was
standing in a driveway while observing and a woman at that
address brought out a video camera and proceeded to record the
light. The light was to the west and the sky was black, with
some stars. Its apparent size was about that of a 5 cent coin
at arm's length. It was still there when he left the scene.
Warwick, Saturday January 13
2007, 8.10pm
Three witnesses observed a light illuminating
the cloud cover to the southeast and moving erratically about
in the sky making displacements of more than 10 degrees in a
second. The event was observed for about 10 minutes.
Bellbrae, Victoria, January
24 2007, 10.55pm
I was searching the sky looking for a comet
that I was expecting to see in the south-west. I didn't see
the comet but I did see a moving star. As I watched this
'star' became brighter and bigger than all the others, so much
so that all the stars around it grew smaller and very dull. I
realized then that the moving 'star' was coming in closer. Its
appearance was that of a star, but a very big, bright star. I
was beginning to feel a little exposed from my position in our
open yard as it drew closer, however I decided watching was a
better idea than rushing to my home. After about 10-15 seconds
the 'star' changed direction and started to move away. Within
a second or two more it disappeared completely into the
darkness.
Kingaroy. January 29 2007,
6.00-7.00pm
I would like to report a strange sight I
saw outside my window at about 6:00 to 7:00pm on the 29th of
January 2007. I looked up to see a silver ball rise up on a
continuing elevation toward the clouds. I sat in my room and
waited for this ball to level off its climb and follow a
straight path over the clouds. But the thing just kept on
rising until it disappeared. It was a silver ball. Like a
football. Completely spherical. There didn't appear to be any
structural vantage points upon the craft. No discernable
features, other than its colour and shape. It made no sound. I
couldn't hear anything in the way of jet engines or propeller
emissions. It didn't produce a contrail or anything that would
signify a conventional aircraft. It didn't have wings or tail.
It was just a silver ball that kept on a path of elevation,
until it disappeared on its line of elevation. The day itself
was clear, bright and sunny. The sighting lasted about 10-20
seconds. The object seemed to be moving rapidly and it seemed
to be around the same size as a Ford Focus. But again,
perfectly round with no right angles. The object was
travelling at an angle of around 50-60 degrees.
I live in the South Burnett. It
is a region close to the Bunya Mountain Ranges. I believe it
is the start of the Great Dividing Range. It is not the first
sighting I've seen in this area. In 1995 I witnessed a
aeroplane-like craft, but gold in colour. It was large, around
the size of two Stealth Bombers. It glided over my house late
one afternoon and continued over the Bunya Mountains. I stood
and watched this thing quietly glide. I have seen other
unusual sightings in this area. I have seen strange lights
perform manoeuvres in the shape of squares and rectangles in
the night sky. And there was one night where, after witnessing
a strange object in the skies, a deep feeling of nausea hit. I
also witnessed, with a friend in 1995, a red ball about the
same size as a cricket ball circle my house. It was night
time. We were sitting outside getting ready to go out and this
red ball circled my house, hovered above myself and my friend
then headed off into the clouds. We both just looked at each
other in shock and asked one another if the other had seen
that.
Brisbane, January 31 2007,
7.15pm
Just wanting to report a weird sight this evening.
At approximately 7:15pm on the Southeast freeway just out of
Brisbane, I've seen what looked like a flame-ball, some sort
of projectile similar to a flame or aurora lights etc for less
than a second. Perhaps a third of a second or so. It was on a
slight arc travelling away from me, and I first thought it was
rather small and close. It then seemed a lot further away.
Perhaps about five kilometres in the air [very hard to judge
of course]. It disappeared completely.
Rooty Hill, West Sydney,
January 2007
What I have been observing for the last
couple of years can be seen almost every night. When you look
up at the stars - and you have to look very carefully - you
will see objects that look about the same size as the stars
moving at very fast speeds, too fast to be planes, no noise,
no flashing lights etc. Most of the time they travel in a
straight direction alone and at other times I have seen them
in groups. I have observed one of these objects sit still for
a few minutes, accelerate to an incredible speed and after a
few red flashes of light disappear. This happened at exactly
the same time three nights in a row. They appear to be just
outside the Earth's atmosphere when travelling.
FEBRUARY>>
Southport, Gold Coast,
Wednesday February 7 2007, 8.00am
A woman was proceeding
east along Smith Street in heavy traffic when she saw a white
object trailing eight white ‘contrails’. It moved horizontally
at first and then dropped diagonally, diminishing in size over
two minutes to about half the apparent size of the full moon.
A six year old child in the vehicle began to cry. She
contacted RAAF Amberley and was informed that they had
received calls from other people as well, but could give no
explanation. She was referred to UFORQ.
Melbourne, February 10 2007,
9.30pm
I live in Melbourne about 15km from the city and on
the 10\02\2007 at around 9.30pm I believe I saw a UFO. My
girlfriend and I were driving to the local video store to drop
off some DVDs. We drove up a hill from my house and turned
left to go down another hill. As I was driving down I looked
at the city lights as I always do, when I saw a glow of red
lights moving west across the city, and on top of the red
lights I saw blue lights. It was shaped like an Aussie rules
football, but thinner like it had been squashed. I immediately
told my girlfriend about it and she could not see anything,
not even the city lights, as she has bad eyes. I got to the
bottom of the hill and did a u-turn and watched the lights in
my side mirror. I turned back around to face it and parked my
car and watched for about 10 seconds as it moved west. To me
it was a large structure that reminded me of the size of a
blimp, but its pace as it moved across the city in a westerly
direction was so fast. I'm positive it was a UFO. [This report
was forwarded to VUFORS.]
Camira, Sunday February 11
2007, 6.20 to 6.25pm
A red light seen for about 5 minutes
moved north, east and ascended suddenly, came back and
disappeared. Ashgrove, Brisbane, Thursday February 20 2007,
5.00-5.45pm A witness saw what looked like the Space Shuttle
with vapour trails going up vertically north to south over
Brisbane. [Possibly an unusual illumination of a high altitude
aircraft with contrails by the setting sun?]
MARCH>>
Armidale [NSW], March 10
2007
I wanted a picture of stars for a project and
mounted a tripod on top of my clothes line and aimed the
camera up. I used the delay to avoid movement in the camera
distorting the image. I didn't see anything unusual until I
examined the image. As you can see there is movement
in one object while the other stars around it are stationary.
The Gap, Brisbane, Thursday
March 22 2007, 9.45pm
A woman reported seeing an orange
ball that looked like it was on fire for about 5 minutes. It
seemed to move backwards and forwards to the northwest and was the
apparent size of a thumbnail at arm's length. She heard no
sound and the light seemed to move faster than a plane.
Redcliffe, March 23 2007,
1.15pm
A woman was in bed and heard a noise like a truck
coming down her street while slowing down and then idling. It
seemed to start up and move on again without following the
turn in the street. As the sound wound up again her bedroom
lit up as by a floodlight, penetrating the lined curtains. Car
headlights had never penetrated that window in this way, and
the brightness in the room was much greater than with a
spotlight or headlight. The illumination was unusual and no
shadows were apparent. The light lasted for about one second.
She described several other unusual experiences that had
happened to her over the years.
Mooroopna, Victoria Friday
March 23 2007, 9.30pm
A woman saw a large ‘shooting star’
with a double tail moving away to the north for about 60
seconds during which it crossed most of the sky. It was the
size of a flare, red with a very short tail. The previous
night she was sitting outside at 10.00-11.00pm when suddenly the
whole sky lit up for an instant.
Currumbin, Gold Coast,
Wednesday March 28 2007, night
A witness was about 4km
from the Gold Coast Airport and saw to the east-northeast at about 40
degrees elevation, a stationary light about three quarters of
the full moon's apparent size. It had a round shape with
central lights.
Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, 31
March 2007, 7.30pm
I was coming off the ferry and walking
home when I saw five red orbs. They circled around each other
and at times disappeared and reappeared [whether or not they
just turned their lights off I don't know]. The camera footage
[frame captures provided to UFORQ] doesn't do justice to the size
of the objects, they were massive, as in, if they were about
five metres away from me the objects would be at least a
sphere that was three or four metres in diameter. They moved
away from me and I lost sight of them as they went behind my
apartment block. I estimate they were about 500 metres off the
ground and hovering just about where the Story Bridge is. They
stayed a constant red glow. There is a rather large tree with
many leaves [the oldest tree in Kangaroo Point] and my
apartment block which may have caused what looked to be
disappearing and reappearing on film. However having said
this, when I began to start filming, one of the objects came
completely out of nowhere. The later stages of the film is
where there is obstruction [I was running to get a better
view]. I've watched the film many a time scrolling in fast
forward and rewinding. It's quite creepy especially when I
consider myself a sceptic on such issues.
Coombabah, Gold Coast, March
2007, 8.30pm
It was the last week of March 2007 at
approximately 8:30pm - I can't remember the exact day. It was
very windy and overcast and I was returning home after my
routine nightly walk with my daughter [3yrs] in the pram. My
daughter said 'look at the pretty lights.' I looked up and saw
a large circle with cylinders beneath it all the way around.
It was twirling and humming and appeared faint to me, but my
daughter kept saying 'what's that noise?' It was white and
bluish in colour and was extremely large - the size of a field
or small oval. This object appeared to be travelling at the
same speed as me about ten metres above the roof tops. It was
on an angle and the cylinders appeared 3D and it was
transparent. It appeared to be following me so I stopped
walking, and it also stopped and hovered. I then literally
walked backwards and it again followed, then another object
the same in appearance but much smaller came up behind it and
followed. We were frightened at this point and I was thinking
'this is how people must disappear.' I walked towards my home
and it was following but always a little ahead of me. I came
to a roundabout and it hovered over it and waited for me to
take direction. At this point I noticed the smaller version
was gone. As soon as I came to my house it was directly over
my roof like it knew where I lived. I was too scared to go
inside so I stood there and just looked at it. My daughter and
I were in amazement - it was too unbelievable, especially the
size of it. Finally I went inside and turned on all the
lights, inside and out, and when I came out it was gone. I
sent a text to my sister telling her what I saw because I was
truly worried something was going to happen to us. I haven't
told anyone else because it's just too insane. I still can't
believe it myself. I can't stop thinking about it so I
starting researching on the net but I haven't come across
anyone reporting the same thing. The other strange thing is
that night I never saw a single person out there. I felt like
we were the only people awake. It was very surreal.
Tewantin, Queensland, March
2007
I live in Tewantin, Queensland. For several weeks I
have been observing 'blinking' objects in the night sky.
Through binoculars they appear to be a round objects rapidly
changing colours in a circular movement. In the two weeks
leading up to the 30th of March 2007 I watched them on several
nights: three were positioned towards the south and one in the
north-west. On Friday 30th of March, I drove home in from
Cooroy to Tewantin and noticed the same round object. This
time it was close enough for me to see it colour changing with
the naked eye. I hurried home and got my camera to take a
picture. It was 11:30pm when these pictures were taken. The
object was stationary at the west.
APRIL>>
Brisbane Area, Saturday April
14 2007, 2.00am
Witness reported seeing to the east, a pale
yellow glow between three points of light in a triangle
formation moving east to west. The object could be covered by
two fingers at arm's length and seemed to be very distant.
Forest Lake, Brisbane,
Thursday April 19 2007, 10.00pm
A witness reported seeing
a green light moving west to east at an angle of elevation of
about 50 degrees. Its apparent size was a thumb at arm's
length, moving northeast at constant elevation, with a tail
and emitting sparks. It was seen for about 10 to 15 seconds
and was lost behind trees. The witness wondered if it might
have been space debris.
Fernvale, Queensland,
Saturday April 14 2007, 7.15pm
My girlfriend and I decided
to go camping at Savages Crossing, Fernvale. We packed up the
car and headed off at about 6.00pm on Saturday 14th April
2007. We arrived at Fernvale at about 7.15pm and turned right
off the highway at the phone box and drove to a
T-intersection. We then turned left and after about 500 metres
the road turned 90 degrees right and then became gravel. This
area has a few acreages and is sparsely populated. We went
over a rise in the road after 200 metres of gravel and then
both saw something we had never seen before. On the tree-line
to our left, over a cattle paddock, was a metallic grey saucer
of about 30-40 metres in circumference. It had equidistant
lights around its periphery and they were all colours of the
spectrum. The craft appeared to be startled by our presence
and shot off into the distance at an immeasurable speed. We
both looked at each other and were dumbfounded by what had
taken place. The funny thing is we weren't scared at all and
felt quite secure about proceeding to the campsite. All
through that night we saw lights in the sky that were unusual,
but they seemed to keep their distance and just appeared to be
observing us.
Rubyvale, Central
Queensland, Wednesday April 18 2007, 10.40pm
I witnessed a
very bright, to sharp white light, seemed sharper than the
white background of this email page, and not to be likened to
any Automotive 12- or 24-volt lights, or lights from a
residence or camplight. It seemed as though it may have
landed, due to the shadows of what seemed like lights behind
tree branches, and the way the light seemed to be going in a
upward elevation. The light was very, very bright.
Burpengary, Queensland,
Saturday April 21 2007, 7.00pm
My wife and I were on our
way out this evening in two separate cars when we saw
something very strange and big in the sky. It was
approximately 7.00pm. We were approaching the corner of Fleet
St and Uhlman Rd when we saw the UFO in the sky. It was very
big like a football field, hovering on top of the trees. It
seemed very close, but I knew that it was far away. The shape
was oval, and the craft had white light on top and red light
on the bottom. I felt that some one was watching us. The UFO
stayed still for a few minutes, and then started to tilt to
the left and then gradually dive to the left and disperse
behind the trees. It is very hard to describe the feeling and
the details of the craft. All I know that it was very big,
oval and had a lot of light. When it finally moved, it was a
quick decent but very smooth.
Greenbank, Queensland,
Sunday April 22 2007
Was looking outside towards Ipswich
area from my place at Greenbank to see red, green and blue
lights, about six in total halfway up in the sky from the
horizon, zigzagging. They were moving eastwards.
Margate, Monday April 30
2007, 2.00am
A woman who lives in a quiet street was in
bed when she heard a whirring sound come closer, move away,
come back again and move off. As it moved away neighbourhood
dogs started barking. She was half asleep and did not see
anything, but the experience was very real for her and she
could not go back to sleep afterwards. She stayed in bed and
kept listening. Her husband slept through the episode. In the
morning she felt foggy and forgot a work appointment, which is
very unusual for her.
Kedron, Brisbane, Monday
April 30 2007, 7.10pm
A man was outdoors with a friend and
looked up to see a spherical object the size of a small house
three to four hundred meters above them. It was a mustard
orange colour and passed them close to overhead. It was
illuminated by moonlight, made no sound and moved steadily at
about 100 km/h against the wind. The witness was adamant that
the object was not a blimp or a balloon. It was observed for
four to five minutes and had an apparent size about half that
of the full moon. The site offered a good view all around.
Cape York,
April 2007, Cattle Mutilation
In early April, 2007 a man had
travelled to the Cape York Peninsula area looking for aircraft
parts left over from WW2. He'd been scouting around the
Lakeland Downs, Kowanyama and Hopevale Mission areas with some
friends when he came across a large bull and two calves that
were laying on the ground dead. Their cheeks had been cut
away, their eyes had been cut out, parts of their ears,
testicles, and stomach bag were missing, the top of a rear
leg, and the backside was also removed. In various places the
hair of the animals had also been peeled back.
All the
observable cuts had been done with something cauterising the
wounds somehow that had left no traces of blood anywhere.
Although flies were buzzing around the carcasses it seemed
that decay had not yet set in. He thought that either the
wounds had only recently occurred or the decaying process had
been delayed somehow. On inspection, the area around the
animals was not disturbed and he could find no sign of a
struggle nor any footprints in the area. The man had spent 24
years in the army being stationed in Cambodia, Namibia, Timor
and Phnom Pen, witnessing many types of wounds caused to flesh
by all manner of weapons, but at no time had he ever seen any
wounds that matched those inflicted on these animals. Added to
this, he felt extremely uneasy and apprehensive being near the
animals, as if something didn't "feel right".
Later the
witness visited the Cape York Hotel and was informed by locals
that the aboriginal population in that region knew about the
animal mutilations, not just performed on cattle but on
kangaroos as well. The aboriginal people believed they were
caused by the "spirit men" who walked among them. Consequently
there are areas in the region that the aboriginal people will
not travel near or through.
The witness also met a sheep
shearer who told him the story of a similar occurrence around
1948 to 1950. During this time the Vestey Meat Company ran
cattle in the area. Reports had been made to the company that
50 to 60 of their cattle stock had been found dead in the same
area. Personnel had been sent to investigate and these
investigators found the cattle had similar wounds inflicted on
them by unknown causes.
MAY>>
West Stafford, Brisbane, May
1 2007, 6.00pm
The witness was standing on a street corner
at 6.00pm waiting for a friend to pick him up and then drive
on to Arana Hills. While waiting he saw an object in the sky
just below cloud height with the underneath ‘spinning wildly’.
Out of the object shot a blue beam of light that descended to
the ground in a straight line. As his friend arrived the beam
seemed to develop a bulge in the middle of its length but as
he had to get in the car he didn't see what happened next. He
refrained from telling his friend for fear of ridicule but did
tell his doctor and someone from his Church [Catholic]. His
doctor told him such things don't exist and the church member
made no comment.
Chapel Hill, Brisbane Friday
May 4 2007, 7.00pm
A member reported seeing three lights
of equal brightness in linear formation for ten minutes until
they faded away. They were 50 to 60 degrees above the horizon
to the NNW. No noise was heard, the lights were circular with
a golden/orange colour, spanning about 50cm in the sky at
arm's length.
Wavell Heights, Brisbane
Tuesday May 8 2007, 8.00pm
A man was shooting some video
footage of his back yard through a window and later found a
golf ball like light in his images. The light would have been
in the sky if it was some distance from the camera. The fly
screen web was visible in the light image and the image had
details which changed over time. About a minute of footage was
shot and a copy was sent us for study. Analysis is still in
progress.
Sunnybank, Thursday May 3
2007, 8.00am
This occurred on the 3.05.07. I could have
mistaken this for aircraft, anyway... I was travelling towards
Mains Road Sunnybank heading south when I stopped at the traffic
lights of Granard and Mains Rd opposite ANZ Stadium and saw
three silver egg-shaped objects travelling extremely close
together, I would says five metres apart in formation, and
about 20 metres off the ground, just enough to fly over the
trees and buildings. This was about 8.00am in the morning. I
thought it was the sun reflecting off planes because they were
travelling in the same path as most planes do, but as they got
closer their shape was more rounded. Their path seemed to be
just over the Sunnybank Hotel, heading west to Archerfield
airport. Also they were all different sizes and there was one
that was smaller and was moving around another of the craft in
a vertical, circular motion before it disappeared, leaving
what seemed to be two craft. I attempted to follow them, but
once they were out of sight I never saw them again. I was
expecting people to jump out of their cars and be staring at
the objects but no-one did. I did see a small aircraft, maybe
a Cessna-type, fly in the same flight path about 20 seconds
later, but higher in the air. I do recall thinking I could
clearly establish that this was a plane, and the objects were
smaller then the plane by maybe 20 percent. Did anyone else
report this sighting, or were my eyes playing tricks on me? I
was about 500 metres to one kilometre away from the objects
when I saw them.
Pacific Pines, Gold Coast,
May 6 2007, 9.30pm
Can you please tell us if what we all
saw was UFO activity on the 6th of May between 9:30 and still
continuing as I write this email. We saw one large UFO
floating northeast of Pacific Pines. This thing was flashing
silver, green, red, blue and orange. It hovered and seemed to
have a slow floating effect like a feather dropping to the
floor, left to right to left to right, slowly heading down -
this movement is only slight but is still recognisable. There
was another object more south, not as bright but still there,
and we think there are a couple more to our north.
Blewitt Springs, South
Australia, May 7 2007, day
On 7th May 2007 I was at a
friend's property at Blewitt Springs in South Australia with
my son and husband. The sun was beginning to set and we were
close to leaving to go home. My son was with his friends in
their room which overlooks the hills and grapevines. He came
out to the lounge and told us that he had just seen a plane
flying too low, worried it could be in trouble and he was
quite concerned. So I said for them to go down the hill and
see if they could find what it was. I thought he must have
seen a reflection or something like that, because the sky was
unusual, this strange kind of overcast orange and pink
reflective sky, which actually looked quite beautiful. As I
gazed out the window I too saw this UFO. It looked like it was
a fair distance away, at a guess 500 metres, but it was quite
large and clear with defined edges shaped like an oval. It was
a brilliant silver-white and it seem to glide out of sight
just behind some trees. I ran to the edge of the yard to see
where it went but it was out of sight. I called out and told
my friends and husband that I too had seen it. Of course my
husband only made fun of me saying, ‘Ooh aliens, aliens.’ So
we decided to go and pick up our son from the bottom of the
hill ,where he was still seriously wanting to know what he'd
seen. I told him I too had seen it but the others missed it.
As we were driving home my husband still didn't believe us -
until he saw the same flying object on the left side of
Whitings Road before it was once again lost behind the trees.
He screeched to the side of the road and tried to see where it
went, then decided to drive around to where we thought it
looked like it had came from, past Douglas Gully Scrub, but we
didn't find a thing. There was a strange helicopter which
looked like it too was searching for something. As my son is
into aircraft in a huge way he said the helicopter was not a
typical one as it was long and black at the bottom and white
at top, but definitely not the same shape as the UFO we had
seen, this I am sure of. I can’t get this image out of my
brain. It has been a week now but I am definitely interested
if anyone else had seen anything in the McLaren Flat/Blewitt
Springs area.
Mount Ommaney, Brisbane May
18 2007, 5.30am
After getting out of bed a young man
looked out his bedroom window and observed a large
rectangular-shaped object hovering above the Mt Ommaney
Shopping Centre. He estimated it to be three phone towers in
height above the centre and looked grey in colour with two
smaller red lights on one side. He observed the object for
four seconds before it disappeared. He was looking east at the
time on a cloudy morning. After the sighting he went into ‘a
sort of a daze’. He added that his father has also had many
sightings.
JUNE>>
Miami, Gold
Coast, June 16 2007, 8.00pm
Last night about 8.00pm my partner
and I were standing outside our house when I noticed an
intense large single orange light slowly pass overhead. The
object flew in the same flight line as airplanes flying from
Coolangatta, but the thing that struck me was that it was a
lot lower and only had a single light. It had no flashing
light on the tail and made absolutely no sound. I watched it
for about three minutes as it slowly faded into the distance.
I couldn't clearly make out what it was but the light emitting
out of this object was intense and didn't look like a plane's
light. About five minutes later a plane flew over our house. I
quickly called my partner outside to watch the plane, which
was flying at a higher altitude than the object, yet we had
absolutely no problems in hearing the plane's engine. Also,
the plane was lit up with its flashing light etc. I can't
explain what I saw, but I'm sure it wasn't an airplane.
JULY>>
Laidley, Friday
July 7 2007
Three boys aged 14 to 16 had planned to spend a
night out camping on land designated for a new prison facility
yet to be built, and were dropped off by an uncle. During the
night they were terrorized by something they could not
remember. One of the boys left the others to walk home and the
other two were too frightened to leave their tent. In the
morning they found unusual marks on their bodies and their dog
was found dead some distance from their tent. They had little
recollection of what had happened, were frightened and felt
sick.
Bulimba, 10
July 2007, 8.00pm
Tonight at approximately 8.00pm I saw a blue
and red flashing light in the sky. It was east of Brisbane
airport, at quite high altitude. I looked closer with
binoculars and noticed a green light flashing as well. It
remained perfectly stationary, with planes flying nearby.
Toowoomba, 13
July 2007, 5.40pm
Hi all, I'm aware of the irony of this
report considering today's date (Friday 13th). I arrived home
from work at roughly 5:40pm and proceeded to open the garage
to put my bike away. I glanced up at the western sky to see a
very dark kite-shaped object moving steadily from southwest to
northeast. Initially I considered that it may have been a
piece of debris, like a garbage bag, being blown along by the
rather chilly south-westerly, but its course and speed were
too consistent to be rubbish at the mercy of the wind. The
thing that really caught my attention was the lack of
perimeter beacons or strobes, and it was absolutely silent.
From my vantage point I guessed that this particular object
would have been at approximately 1000 feet and its speed was
around 160/200 km/hr, too fast for an ultra-light even with a
tail wind. As a matter of interest the direction that this
object was travelling would have put it very close to the
restricted airspace over Cabarlah Army Base, a significant

Canberra, ACT,
20 July 2007, 10.30pm
I wish to state up-front that before
tonight I have had little to no interest in the topic of UFOs.
On my way back to my car after work, I turned my head skyward
briefly. The night was a little cloudy but some stars were
visible above me. I focused on one of the fainter stars and a
shooting star happened to fly past. This did not amaze me much
as I recall seeing what really was a shooting star just a few
nights earlier outside my house. What did amaze me is that
this object, while appearing to have the same relative speed
of a shooting star, continued to remain in view without the
characteristic fadeout of a shooting star. This suggested to
me that the object was in the upper atmosphere, possibly
higher.
My amazement
ended and astonishment began when a second shooting star-like
object tailed, accelerated, and caught up to the original
object. The second object moved in on the first object and
produced the trajectory of a side-facing parabola, something
like stunt pilots would execute. The first object then circled
around at a very high speed in a wide arc, but only completed
about ninety percent of the circular turn.
As I was
focusing on the sudden - and frankly mind boggling -
acrobatics of the first object, I lost sight of the second.
The first object disappeared in its incomplete turn. The whole
experience felt like about ten seconds all up. I have no idea
what I saw, but I can tell you it was no shooting star.
Yes Canberra
has an airport in the vicinity of my eastward vantage, but
this event was right above me and these objects were extremely
high. No way it was the air force, balloons etc, and I don't
know much about satellites or space stations, but I would
guess they don't move like that. I also discounted the
possibility of my tired condition resulting in eye floaters,
simply because these were bright objects. To test this, after
I arrived home I tried staring at dark surfaces, but my eyes
were not producing any bright artefacts. The objects in
question were just dots but the way they moved! The trajectory
crossover and turn did not seem natural. This has
certainly messed up my scepticism.
AUGUST>>
Carina,
Sunday August 5 2007, 8.57pm
I saw two lights last night
[Sunday August 5] that appeared to be UFOs. Looking slightly
north-northwest from Carina North at 8.57pm, approximately
above the Brisbane River, I saw a bright light travelling
slightly northeast by east at about the speed of a plane and
slowly decreasing in speed and curving away to the northeast.
That took less than a minute and suddenly the light went out
completely. There was no noise whatsoever and the colour of
the light resembled a car headlight. I could not see any shape
of a craft around the light. The altitude was a little more
than the approach height that landing planes use in that
locality to the Brisbane Airport.
I ran to a
window looking north in the middle of the episode, and waited
there until about 9.07pm, and another light seemingly exactly
the same came into view from the west-northwest. It seemed to
travel the same path at the same decreasing speed, until it
appeared to completely stop about another kilometre further to
the northeast with its light still shining. A plane took off
from the airport to the southwest and then the strange light
shut down also. I had watched it for nearly two minutes.
Another plane took off from the airport in a couple of minutes
and went out to the south-east by east.
Mackay, August
6 2007, 6.30am
A friend and I were driving through to
Townsville and noticed a star-like object in the sky, no
clouds, just as the sun was coming up at about 6:30 in the
morning. My driving partner in the back started to swear and
told me to pull over because there was something in the sky. I
pulled over and we were watching this star in the sky move
randomly, as a fly or insect would towards a light at night
time. Remembering we had his telescope in the back with all
our gear he set it up to get a closer look. Meanwhile I was
trying to video record it with my hand-held camera with no
luck. I had a look via his telescope and what I saw, you
wouldn't ever believe. It was a cell-like object with no real
defined shape that looked to be harnessing energy from its
surroundings, changing from some of the most unreal colours to
the human mind and with no defined shape, like jelly in the
air. We had to keep moving the telescope even though it was on
the tripod because it was moving quite a bit. It was after it
changed into a solid-like object and a solid colour of dark
red that it moved real close to both of us. It appeared to be
not even 50 metres away from us, then it disappeared.
Flaxton,
Blackall Ranges, August 9 2007
My 22 year old son may have
seen a UFO Last night between 3.30am and 3.45am. He was up
late working on his computer, and when he decided to go to
bed, glanced out of his bedroom window. He noticed what he
thought was a very large, bright star in the sky, when
suddenly it flew off. He said that it would stop suddenly and
then fly off in another direction. This continued for several
minutes. He said that the light emanating from the craft was
very bright, and that it had other colours that came from it
as well, for example, blue, green and red. It was a very clear
sky last night, and my son was so certain that he was seeing a
UFO that he dragged me out of bed at 3.45am! We both went
outside, but I didn't see it, and he said when we went
outside, he saw the craft sitting still again before it
suddenly disappeared.
I told a friend
about my son's sighting, and she said that she may have seen
the same thing or similar. She sits outside on her verandah at
night, also in Flaxton, as she hates the TV. Anyway, she said
that she has also seen what appears to be a very bright star
which suddenly moves off quickly to one side for example, and
then stops again. She has called her partner out to watch it,
and said that they wondered if it was a UFO. She said that she
has been waiting to hear if anyone else has seen it and
reported it. I don't know if this is the same as my son's
sighting, but it sounds similar.
Southeast
Queensland, reported August 13 2007
I seem to see distant
white lights in the night sky that look like stars
manoeuvring, disappearing and reappearing, moving at different
speeds and at different times over the years. I’ve seen them
at Springbrook, on New Years 2000, a few times over Moreton
Bay and Wynnum, Dingo Beach and Mackay. I thought I'd email
first as there have been too many occasions and I can’t
remember the dates that I saw them.
8risbane,
Tuesday August 14 2007, 2.30am
I am 17 years of age and a
longtime believer in ET and a constant watcher for UFOs. Early
this morning at approximately 2.3Oam I braved the cold to go
outside as I often do. As normal I had my eyes towards the sky
not specifically in the hope that I would see a UFO but just
because I enjoy looking at the stars and find them very
beautiful. About two minutes after venturing outside I noticed
two very bright red lights in the sky. They were very high up,
above the clouds. At first I thought it was a plane or
satellite but the objects began to alternate in colour from
red to white and then to a very dim grey. I could believe my
eyes as this Is my first sighting. One of the objects then
began to move in a circular motion. It appeared to be hovering
in a circular motion. The other object stayed still. I watched
the objects for about one hour. The object on the left then
began to come closer towards me, but then it stopped and went
back to its original position. A third object then appeared
very high above the others tor form a triangle. They stayed
like this for about five minutes before clouds came over and I
couldn’t see them anymore. This was the most brilliant thing I
have ever seen. Looking at the objects made me feel happy and
content. I hope to see more sightings in the future.

An object that looked like an inverted
pyramid in the sky was seen moving slowly from the west. It
was white in colour and observed for 10 minutes.
Cooloola Cove,
Monday August 20 2007, 5.20am
I live at Cooloola Cove, which
is situated between Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach. I travel to
work at Gympie (west bound) which is approximately 60
kilometres and about a 45 minute drive from home. I leave home
for work at approximately 5.00am each morning. On Monday 20
August 2007 at approximately 5:20am, I was travelling along
Tin Can Bay road going over the Goochon Creek Bridge just
before the Toolara State Forest Barracks, which is
approximately a two kilometre straight road between pine
forests on either side of the road, and just before the
Laminex Company.
I was three quarters along the stretch of
road doing 100 kmh (the speed limit) when I noticed in the
rear-view mirror a single bright white light back at the
Toolara Forest Barracks, of what seemed to me to be a
motorcycle travelling at high speed. As I was approaching the
bend which has a single white line (no overtaking on my side)
I noticed that the white light (or motorcycle) was right at
the back of my Toyota Hilux ute (tail gating, and I noticed
that light was not vibrating as it would if it were a
motorcycle). The light seemed to hover, at which point I
thought to myself, this fellow must be doing over 300 kmh
because he was at least one and a half kilometres behind me
and within a few seconds he was right on my tail. I had to
adjust myself in my driving seat because the light was
reflecting so brightly in my side and rear-view mirror. I was
approaching a bend in the road and a logging truck was
approaching in the opposite direction. Then the light, which I
thought was a motorcycle, appeared to be going to overtake, at
which I thought "you're bloody mad"! At this point the bright
light was in my side mirror, in which I noticed it went
straight up into the sky, and I thought to myself that this
bloke was a "bloody idiot" as I imagined he was doing a wheel
stand as he was going past me. That is when I noticed that
nobody went past me and the light went straight up into the
air and the truck went flying past me without any trouble.
On the way home
that afternoon I half expected to see a high powered
motorcycle and its rider stuck 30 feet up in a pine tree. I
never saw anything and there were no skid marks. I came home
and told my wife about my story and she went on to tell me
that it was not a motorbike but something quite spooky is
going on in our part of the world. There is a military army
base "Camp Kerr" which is parallel to the road on which I
travel. My wife and I have dubbed it the Tin Tin Light after
the Min Min Light.
Booval,
Saturday August 28, 1.37pm
A man was tending his
pigeons and noticed that one of them kept looking up. He also
looked up and saw a huge object in the sky constantly changing
shape and moving southeast to northwest. It passed overhead
and was eventually lost to view, moving at the apparent speed
of a small plane, but without any noise. It seemed to be
moving in a straight line and was seen for about 10 minutes.
The object appeared black beneath bright clouds coming from
the west. The man also had a previous UFO sighting some years
ago.
SEPTEMBER>>
Rosewood,
Saturday September 1 2007 5.00am
A woman observed a large
stationary light in the direction of Ipswich for about half an
hour. It was like a spotlight having the apparent size of the
full moon.
Cairns, Friday
September 14 2007, 7.00pm
A woman and her husband observed a
very bright orange ball of light to the south passing overhead
and continuing to the north. It blinked out after about a
minute. They live close to the local airport and are well
acquainted with aircraft and meteors. The object maintained a
constant colour and brightness with an apparent size of 1/16th
of the full moon.
Trinity Park,
North Queensland, Friday September 14 2007, 7.00-8.00pm
I live
in Trinity Park Qld which is North of Cairns 17 kilometres,
and last night went outside to have a smoko. I am not quite
sure of the time, maybe between 7.00-8.00pm, I saw a strange
bright orange light in the sky coming towards me that would be
coming from the south and heading over me to the north. It
passed overhead and travelled for maybe 30 seconds to 1 minute
then blinked out. There were no clouds in the sky to suddenly
make the light disappear. We also live almost in line with the
flight paths for all airlines into Cairns Airport so I am well
aware of aircraft lights of International Flights and also
small aircraft. What I saw was nothing like our normal
aircraft, as this was also totally silent and I have
exceptionally good hearing. It was not a meteor as I have also
seen many of them. This was a very bright orange ball light
that was totally silent and travelled in a straight line
overhead as if it were floating.
Lake Morris,
Cairns, September 16 2007
I have a great UFO picture caught on
two separate cameras taken during the signing of the registry
book at my wedding. We didn't notice the object until a week
after the wedding when my wife was taking another look through
the photos. The shots are on disc and are excellent quality as
you can zoom right in and see clearly the object. The second
camera also caught the image and shows some very unusual
energy shimmers directly under the UFO... like
cushions/pillows of air. Also the UFO seems to create a very
unusual 'shadow' or distortion on/near the ground. I have
emailed the pics to friends but noticed that during
compression for email the quality of the shots is greatly
reduced. I would prefer to send you a disc with the digital
images in their complete format. If I hear back from you I
will organise to send this photo CD to you. I have attached
one shot for your interest. [UFORQ did request a copy of these
images but to date they have not been received - Ed]
Friday,
September 19 2007, 1.15pm
A security guard observed two small
white objects to the east and moving North for about 1.5
minutes. He thought they might be balloons.
Belmont NSW,
Friday September 21 2007, 10.30pm
About 15 minutes ago I saw
an unusual bright orange light in the sky coming from the
southeast moving towards the northeast. It seemed to be moving
extremely fast and looked like It was coming towards me. It
looked like an orange ball of fire that looked larger in
comparison than any star visible at the time so it was
obviously not a star. The sky was very clear in that direction
with hardly a cloud in sight and It was obviously not an
aircraft of any type. It was silent and bright and appeared
very large.
I was very fearful as I thought it may be an
asteroid. I called my wife to come and have a look and she was
very scared when she saw it. It appeared to be coming straight
toward us and I told my wife to get the kids and put them in
the car, and as I was saying this the object suddenly slowed
down and changed direction and started going southwest, and it
appeared to be going higher and higher, moving in an erratic
manner until it eventually disappeared in what it seemed to be
amongst the stars and vanished. I was amazed at what I saw and
so was my wife who is a true skeptic about UFOs , until now of
course. She has certainly changed her tune. I however I have
always been open minded about these things as some of my
family members have seen UFOs and strange lights in the sky
and have told stories about it and they don't seem like the
type of people to make things up. I live In Belmont NSW with
my family and I am very certain of what I saw and so is my
wife, who saw the same thing with her eyes that I saw with
mine.
Southport,
Thursday September 28 2007
I live near Sharks football club in
Southport, Gold Coast, and observed a 'shooting star' heading
from Tamborine toward the Broadwater. It stopped dead, drifted
up then at right angles from its original course, headed for
Surfers Paradise where it once again stopped instantly,
drifted up as if searching for the next earth grid, and then
went off at right angles out to sea and unfortunately was then
obscured by a cloud. There was no acceleration, just go and
stop. Out of phase with our reality when moving, and no ball
of charged particles, rock or craft could stop instantly from
that speed without distortion or disintegration.
OCTOBER
Deception
Bay. Thursday October 12 2007, 11.00pm
Five lights were
observed in the sky by a family for about 20 minutes. Three of
the lights were stationary while one light travelled out over
the bay and back again covering about one kilometre of sky,
repeating this pattern five times. Another light zoomed off in
a southwest direction and the three stationary lights moved
straight up into the sky and faded out.
Darra,
October 18 2007, 10.55pm
Looking through
a glass window, two men witnessed an object the size of a ten
cent piece held at arms length and whitish blue in colour. It
was observed for one or two seconds moving downwards. There
were two witnesses, but one wishes to remain anonymous.
Toowoomba,
Friday October 19 2007, 11.00pm
I live in Toowoomba and on
Friday the 19th October I was sitting with my husband outside
on our deck quite late at night. It could have been after
11.00pm but can't recall. While we were talking I saw a bright
whitish/bluish light appear in the sky. This ball of light
was quite low and moved downwards at an angle out of sight due
to houses and trees obscuring the view. I said at the time it
was a really big bluey white ball of light and that it was too
big for a shooting star and seemed to be much closer and lower
than a star.
Reported
October 20 2007
Hello, just thought I should write
about a strange dream I had about three strange creatures. The
last time I dreamed about them they were using a handheld
light device looking under my skin on my right leg. They were
insect-like with large dark eyes, and they were thin with
smooth skin. I was stuck to flypaper so I couldn't move. They
seem to be checking for something... I wasn't afraid and I
didn't feel that I was in any danger. I thought after reading
your article in the paper that you may have heard of similar
story of someone being scanned with a similar device.
NOVEMBER>>
Swan Bay,
NSW, November 1 2007, 8.55pm
A woman reported a
triangular object the size of a house surrounded by 30 to 40
small fast moving lights, alternately lighting up the water of
the Bay and the sky. While she was describing the events as
they happened, her mobile phone cut out.
Mount
Cooroy, reported November 1 2007
A man and his
partner observed an object with lights about it two nights
before the date of reporting. It departed vertically. He
stated that many sightings and strange happenings were taking
place. One such report came from a client whose parents in
Western Australia saw a huge ship come in near Eighty Mile
Beach.
Mackay,
November 4 2007, 8.45pm
Tonight at approximately 8.45pm on
04/11/07 at Marian/Mackay, I was laying on the trampoline
outside just looking up at the stars. I saw a sort of
triangular shaped object, dark in colour with no lights or
sound, heading north northeast. Probably about 1000 metres in
the air and travelling fairly fast.
Bulimba, November 8 2007,
8.30pm
I was just out running and after about 30 mins of
running, this is what I witnessed: Heading east up Brisbane
Street in Bulimba, I was looking up at the sky (since I was
running up a gradient). I looked to my left, and saw a whitish
glowing light, with I thought two light sources of the same
colour heading on a 45 degree angle towards the Earth. I
thought it was a jet or plane crashing (the Airport and Port
of Brisbane are to the east of my location) and waited for the
flash over the horizon to signify the crash. When this didn't
occur I convinced myself it must have been a meteor or
something similar. I kept running only to see, about 30-45
seconds later, a similar light heading from the direction the
other had just travelled at a steep angle, back to my right
and heading in the direction of Ipswich. This time the light
was moving at a more regular angle to the Earth, but at a
similar speed. It once again made no sound and after about 5
seconds disappeared. I can't work out what else this could be,
so for the moment, I am leaving it as a UFO. I am 24, male,
and don't do drugs. I was sober at the time, and though
running, was not overly exerting myself. I stopped to watch
the second appearance.
Traveston, Gympie, November
10-11 2007
An unusual pattern was found on the
reporter's son-in-law's property on the weekend of November 10
and 11 2007. The circled had formed in water-lilies in a dam
in Traveston, Gympie (north of Brisbane). The formation of the
circles was not observed by any witnesses and vegetation and
livestock in the neighbouring paddock displayed no unusual
behaviour or ill-effects. There are no known weather events
that could have caused the lilies to separate in the manner
that they have. The circle has a centre area clear of lilies
or other vegetation, with the lilies being divided into two
distinct bands, with a thin dividing area between these bands.
The person reporting the event stated that "some lilies
had obviously floated a bit because the circle was a bit
wobbly so they must have been torn from their roots. Looking
at the picture it seems there are some brownish lilies, but
whether or not its browning off I can't remember. We were
going to take more photos but the phone's battery went
dead."
Red Hill, Brisbane, November 15
2007, 10.30pm
Last night (November 15) my partner was woken up
at approximately 10:30pm by a loud noise she assumed to be a
very low-flying aircraft. I wasn't home at the time. She
looked out of our bedroom window and saw a bright, luminous
disc-shaped object with a red and blue light underneath (red
on one side, blue on the other) moving towards our flat, from
north to south. Over the course of approximately two minutes
it had passed over our building and was no longer visible from
the flat. As it moved on my partner described its sound as
changing from the roar of an engine to something musical and
harmonious. As this sound faded she went back to bed.
Underwood, November 19 2007
I
have always been a strong believer in alien life forms. As a
child I had repetitive dreams of being abducted and also saw a
yellow light moving in weird directions above my house when I
was young. My parents also witnessed this strange occurrence.
Well tonight, being the 19th of November, my partner was
having a cigarette in the back yard of our house in Underwood
when I heard him yelling out my name. I ran out the back and
saw a round yellow-orange light in the distance. We watched it
fly in a straight line, no noise, no flashing lights, so we
definitely knew it wasn't an airplane. After we watched it for
approximately five minutes we saw it change to a more
orange-red colour, and soon after the light in the sky
vanished right before our eyes. My partner is one of the
biggest sceptics I know, but tonight he saw something he
described as unidentified, but will not admit to it being an
alien craft as I think it is. So yes from a sceptic and a huge
believer, we definitely saw something.
Windsor, November 19 2007,
8.00pm
Just wanted to report something a little out of the
ordinary in Windsor (inner Brisbane) on Saturday 10th
November. At about 8.00pm and facing with my back to the city
and looking north at about 45 degrees I saw a shape not unlike
a pregnant woman lying prostrate and about the size of a bar
of chocolate when my arm was fully stretched. I know it sounds
absurd but this object was completely black, devoid of
anything and seemingly bending the light surrounding the
shape, as if it was a black hole or something sucking in light
and everything around it. It lasted for a few hours then
disappeared. It was as if everything within its vicinity was
being sucked in, kind of like a giant hoover. Just wondered if
anyone else experienced the same thing.
Eagleby, November 20 2007,
7.30-9.30pm
The witness was looking
west-northwest towards Brisbane and saw a bright white light
rise, pass over their house and enter a cloud. It emerged from
the other side of the cloud and faded out while moving to the
southeast. The light exhibited steady motion and was seen for
about two minutes. It was larger than a star and made no
sound. The witness has had other sightings before this one.
Helensvale, November 21
2007, 1.15pm
Witness woke to a noise, went
outside and saw an object of unusual shape and size. It had an
oblong diamond shape and seemed to be at 20 to 30 thousand
feet. He observed it with binoculars and went back inside and
to sleep at 2.30 am. While other stars moved in the sky, this
light appeared to be stationary with yellow/red lights in a
triangular formation. The witness has had other sightings in
1992 and 1947, in one of which "the whole sky lit
up".
Albion, November 21 2007
A witness saw a very bright
"meteorite" coming down at an angle. It lasted about
two seconds.
Highfields QLD, November 27
2007, 3.45am
In the early hours of this
morning I observed a large bright object in the eastern sky at
about 70 degrees. The object appeared to hover and rotate in
very very small clockwise circles, changing from extremely
bright to becoming duller. When the object was extremely
bright it appeared to have shafts of either light or something
else coming from around it in a very structured pattern. I
observed this for approximately one hour before returning to
bed. I have never seen anything like this before and even woke
my husband who was amazed also.
DECEMBER>>
Carindale/Belmont,
December 9 2007, 9.45pm
The witness was
driving northwest along Old Cleveland Road on her way to the
airport. Around the Carindale/Belmont area she noticed a round
object with four or five lights around it in the sky to her
left. It was bigger than a star and appeared not to be moving.
The object was observed for 30 seconds then switched off like
a light. It was a rainy night.
Hervey Bay,
December 14 2007
On Friday night
a woman reported seeing a meteorite that looked like a six
inch ball blue-green in colour, with a tail.
Armidale, NSW,
December 2007
I have been taking pictures of aircraft activity over my
home town of Armidale, NSW, since about January this year.
Although my purpose in taking these pictures was sparked by my
interest in aircraft "emissions", I began to notice
anomalies in many of the photos I have taken. This still
continues now. I have attached two pictures which were taken
earlier this year with a 6mx digital camera. As I am not
technical with graphic or photographic work, it is still
bugging me as to what these anomalies are. I have had a few
people with interest, or profession, in photography and they
have mainly been inconclusive. One picture is of a bluish orb
in the bottom middle 1/3rd of the picture, the other has a red
and blue light, on either side of an emission from an
aircraft. In all the pictures I have taken I have not been
aware the objects were there when I took the picture, however
I have had four sightings, two of them with other witnesses,
of orb-like objects. One of these was only about one or two
months ago in broad daylight when a friend and I witnessed a
silver/mercury-like object that went from a really intense
brightness, like the sun was shining off it, to a sort of
opaque blue, nearly invisible, appearance which then just
vanished. The friend that I was with, we later found out when
discussing it, saw the object, but it appeared differently to
him. We stood there and watched if for a minute or so. We also
have a Lockheed/Martin facility about 10 kilometres out of
town. It is US-run and they monitor and manipulate satellites
from this station. Apparently in the late 60s the ex-mayor had
a property about 15 kilometres out of town where they ran some
tests involving HAARP. I find this interesting especially
after watching Jamie Maussan's video last year on the activity
over Mexico. In this video there were many UFO objects but one
that I am still trying to get my head around is one that
looked like a horse! Are these illusions or holographic images
that are being projected into our skies, or physical objects?
MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS RECEIVED IN 2007>>
Murphy's Creek,
early 2006, 5.30pm, reported October 2007
Some time earlier
last year I was taking my wife to work at Helidon. After l
dropped her off I was returning home to Murphy's Creek and was
driving along Airforce road with three kids age 6 to 12 in the
car when I saw a bright cigar-shaped light in the sky that
didn't move. I told the kids to look at the bright light, and
as l drove the car slowly along the road the three kids became
scared and my son, 6, jumped into the back seat trying to hide
from this light. The two girls kept looking, but they both
suddenly become very quiet and scared. l kept driving very
slowly until l reached the Lockyer Sliding railway. Even now
we still all remember what happened on this late afternoon at
5.30. It was not a plane but we believe it was a UFO. I am 60
years old and l have seen these things a couple of times --
once while camping in Victoria near Bright, before the first
Russian spaceship Sputnik 1 was launched, plus 12 years ago
near Dalby Queensland, at about 12.30am.
Mount Warning, NSW, November 15
2006, reported October 2007
I saw a huge "shooting
star" over my head whilst driving west from Murwillumbah
towards Mt Warning National Park in the early evening. I
thought it was fireworks at first as it was so low and bright.
I proceeded driving west for another seven minutes, still
thinking about the strange ball I had seen when, suddenly, up
to my right and behind a low bluff, approximately 500 metres
away, I saw a large rectangular light illuminating the tops of
the trees while slowly sinking behind them. There are no roads
or houses on this bluff. I had a friend in another car behind
me, so I didn't stop. When we arrived at our destination, my
friend said she had seen the "shooting star" but not
the large light after that. I have also read that Mt Warning
is a hot spot for UFO sightings.
Zillmere,
Brisbane, July 16 2005, 5.15pm [reported February 2007]
The witness was proceeding along Beams Road and saw three
bright orange dots forming a triangle in the sky above nearby
houses. It was not quite dark at the time of sighting.
Gladstone
[QLD], 1994, 11-12.30am [reported January 2007]
It was
late and I had decided to turn the lights out for the night.
Our house at the time backed onto state forest, no houses or
streets were behind us. A dry deep creek bed ran right through
our backyard boundary, in line with the house. As I was
walking towards the sliding glass door to lock it [located at
the back of the house], I noticed a green misty light in the
forest. At first I thought it was a reflection off the glass,
so to make sure I opened the door. The light was still
visible, and I walked a few feet closer and had a good look at
what I was seeing. The green light was not far above ground
height, and it looked to be some kind of green glowing mist
around the source of the light, which looked like a sphere,
[but I couldn't say for sure about the shape of the light
source], and lit up a small area of surrounding tree trunks.
As I was watching this, for around a minute, I noticed a
humanoid shape amongst the light and mist. It seemed to be
kneeling down on one knee beside a trunk of one of the trees.
I did not see any features of the entity, but I could clearly
see a humanoid shape amongst the light and mist. I quickly and
quietly retreated inside, closed and locked the door for the
night and slept with my light on. This scared the heck out of
me, and I still find it very difficult to talk or discuss this
with anyone. Even now I am feeling a state of anxiety. The
thing that I saw was on the other side of the creek bed, and
about 12metres into the forest from the edge of the creek bed,
around a total of 80 meters away from our house. I seem to
remember when my grandmother was alive and living with us at
that house, she told my mother about some strange lights she
saw late one night, in an area not too far from the lights I
saw myself. My grandmother described to my mother what she
thought was a tree lit up, with lights coming from the ends of
the branches. She watched this for over half an hour but
decided not to tell anyone or wake up anyone the night of her
sighting.
Riverview, December 2005
[reported May 2007]
A man was out walking when he observed
a large black, cigar-shaped object in the sky. He was near the
Riverview Police Station at the time of the sighting so when a
police car pulled up at the station he asked the policemen
what it was he might be looking at. They also observed the
object but answered that they didn't know. They radioed other
police cars to ask if anyone else knew what it was but that
was all he found out.
Glasshouse Mountains, Southeast
Queensland, December 21 2004 [reported May 2007]
My
sighting occurred on the 21st of December 2004 at around
11:30pm. We were four-wheel-driving in the Glasshouse
Mountains, with four people in two vehicles. We were driving
along a fire road with a space of about 50 meters between the
vehicles when my friend's wife yelled over the UHF to stop and
look above the tree line. There, just hovering above the
trees, was a ‘panadol [capsule] shaped’ object roughly the
size of a petrol tanker truck's trailer. It was also emitting
a low humming noise. It was glowing like a dull fluorescent
light and was just above the trees, so close I could have
easily thrown a rock and hit it. We had a video camera with us
but it had run out of battery just five minutes before which
is a shame. After a few minutes it just tilted forward and
drifted west like a balloon down into a ridge. We followed in
our cars and got out to look for it but it was gone and so was
the humming.
Arana Hills, February 18 1998,
4.20am, reported October 2007
Although I wish to remain
anonymous, the following events genuinely occurred in a
built-up area of Arana Hills, Brisbane at 4.20am on the 18th
February, 1998. It was not yet sunrise and still quite dark. I
know the time of the event as I was wearing a wristwatch that
has a 'glow in the dark' face. Prior to the occurrence, two
senior age adults and one mature age adult - me - and a three
year old child were all asleep. All three bedrooms are
positioned next to each other. We were all woken virtually at
the same time by the deafening sounds of what seemed to be a
huge engine, which seemed to emanate from the roof above the
house, and very bright lights that were clearly visible
through the curtains of the window that my bed was positioned
next to. At the same time the house rattled inside and out. We
called out to each other from our beds but, out of fear I
suppose, remained in our beds, but I quickly got up to comfort
the young child who was also scared of all the noise.
Although
scared, I peeked out the window next to my bed and all I can
remember seeing is what seemed to be large spotlights and lots
of grey metal-coloured machinery under what appeared to be an
extremely large and from what I could see angular - triangular
or rectangular? - shaped object. It seemed to be paused just
above the top of the house and was close enough for me to see
in some detail. I could see one side of it and it seemed very
large. The direction it was very slowly moving was easterly -
I know this from the position of the house. I was quite scared
and 'hid' in my bed. The noise and rattling was there for what
seemed a few minutes and then it seemed to almost instantly
stop.
The two elderly people later asked their next door
neighbours on both sides and the neighbours directly across
the road if they had heard anything at that time and none of
them had been disturbed from their sleep. One of the next door
neighbours is a senior Police Officer who was asleep at the
time, but is normally very vigilant with any and every noise
he hears outside. The other neighbour was an accountant and
JP, and the one across the road a middle aged tradesman - all
have families with at least two children. Of myself and the
other two elderly family members, it is worth noting that we
are all strict teetotallers and very conservative in
behaviour. The airport was called that morning and a complaint
was made, but we were told that there were definitely no
planes at that time and we are not in a direct flight path. My
relatives have never had this occur before and have lived
there since the early 1960s. The amount of noise and rattling
was so loud it is impossible that the mostly middle-aged and
elderly neighbours, positioned closely, could not hear it. The
noise was genuinely almost deafening.
When overseas many years
ago I found myself in an area where a large earthquake
occurred and this event at Arana Hills was louder, and
everything shook and rattled inside the house. None of us went
back to sleep. We were all scared and puzzled. We are not
science-fiction buffs or 'trekkies', and thought UFOs were a
lot of old 'codswallop' until that night. I have not come
forward before to report this for fear of ridicule. It remains
a puzzle to us as to what it was. Sometimes when we get
together we still chat about it and ponder what was out there.
Cunninghams Gap [QLD] 1990
[reported March 2007]
I am curious to learn more about an
unusual object I saw whilst driving back to Sydney from
Brisbane with my husband many years ago. Sadly I cannot recall
the exact year or date but I believe it would have been
somewhere around 1990. We were driving through Cunninghams Gap
at approximately 1.00am in the morning when we saw what
appeared to be a mass of lights [orange and white] and they
appeared have a large cylinder shape object behind them. The
road was windy and my husband was driving so he did not get a
very good view of it. I watched it for approximately 20
seconds and then my husband pulled the car over to the side of
the road. We wound down our windows to get a better look and
the object continued to hover for a while and then it moved
away. It then changed direction and sped off. It was
completely silent. My initial reaction was that it had to be
some sort of aircraft but I was amazed by its apparent size
and that it was silent and had the ability to change direction
so fast. We continued to drive home to Sydney and at each
petrol station that we pulled into we were asked if we had
seen the UFO. I remember someone else commenting that they had
seen it change direction. There was also an article published
about the sightings in a Sydney newspaper shortly after this.
I wish I could remember the exact year and date but I cannot.
I know it would have been somewhere around 1990 and I imagine
it would have been in April/May as that is when we took our
annual holidays.
Tansey, near Gympie, 1982,
reported October 2007
I was probably about 12 years old (going
back 25 years) and I lived on a farm in Tansey in Queensland
which is about an hour inland from Gympie. I saw what looked
like a bright star just over the horizon, above a hill in the
far distance. It was just going on dusk so all the stars were
coming out, but whatever it was it was larger and brighter
than Venus. The stars are much brighter in the country than
the city. I thought it may just be a satellite or a distant
plane, but it just hovered around in the same spot. It
actually moved back, forwards, up and down but did not move in
relation to the stars. It was random movement but it generally
kept in the same area above the horizon. I got my parents out
to look at it but they just made fun of me as they just saw it
as a star, but I always have remembered it. I watched it for
more than an hour straight and then randomly checked on it
ever 15 mins or so for the next few hours until it was bed
time so it would have been in the same spot for about 3 hours
- sometimes still and sometime moving slightly in different
directions. I never saw the "star" in the spot ever
again after that. A star, shooting star, satellite, weather
balloon or plane moves across the sky in a pattern. There was
no pattern at all so I guess I'll just always wonder what I
saw.
Rockhampton, 1970s-1980s,
reported November 2007
I don't think this is a UFO but is very
strange. About 30 years ago in Rockhampton, out on the edge of
town, I was driving to collect a family member and had to stop
on the crest of a hill to figure out what I was seeing. It was
just coming on dusk but from this position I could see for
miles over the river and treetops towards Gracemere. It
appeared there was a long straight split in the sky about five
miles away with a phosphorus ooze coming from it. The length
of this "split" had to be considerable for me to see
it so clearly. I walked forward of the car and back to see
this from different angles. I even climbed up some of the
hillside on the other side of the road. The thing that
convinced me of the distance was that part of this ooze was
blocked by the shape of the end of the Range on the other side
of the city. It was too high to be power lines, and if this
had looked like it was oozing upward I would have thought it
some phosphorus gas from lagoons out that way. I wanted to
wait for someone else to come along the road, but had to be on
time. Has anyone else reported anything like this? I really do
hope so.
Eight Mile
Plains, Brisbane, September 1974 [reported March 2007]
A
man had pulled into a BP service station at the intersection
of Miles Platting Road and Logan Road at night. He was ‘pretty
drunk’. A woman with children pulled into the service station,
very distressed and complaining that they had been ‘chased’ by
a light. He observed a light passing over the service station
and followed it along a dark roadway or track. The light came
close to him several times and was shaped like a football. It
eventually moved away looking like a faint star. He ‘passed
out’ and returned for his car an hour or so later.
Moreton Bay
Beach 1963 [reported April 2007]
A man attending one of
our public meetings described an incident in 1963 when two
families comprising eight adults and a five year old boy
landed on a beach on Moreton Island to picnic and enjoy the
moonlit evening. It was very still and a clear sky with a full
moon. A member of the party had brought along a good quality
wide angle binocular. Our witness used it to study the moon
and observed five cylindrical objects flying in a two pair
formation with the last object in the rear. The objects were
visible to the naked eye also, and the party eventually became
bored looking at them by the time the tide had risen and
extinguished their fire.
Queensland
[reported June 2007]
A woman called to report that when
she was a child one evening she heard the family dogs barking.
She stepped outside to see what was causing the ruckus and
felt a buzzing sensation on the top of her head. She looked
towards the shed in the backyard where her father used an
amateur radio and saw a small being leaning back into the
shadows so as to remain hidden. The being also seemed not to
like the light. She described the being as having white
translucent skin, big almond shaped eyes, pointy chin, long
limbs, thin figure and about the height of a child. The
buzzing sensation on her head was also hot and she put her two
hands on her head and pressed down to stop the feeling. She
screamed and ran up the stairs and fell in the back door of
the house. Her father immediately knew what the cause of her
fright was.
Her father is
now deceased but while alive he had a keen interest in UFOs
and collected UFO magazines which he kept hidden in his shed.
He was a WW2 communications expert who built his own radio and
would sit at it for hours. The woman thinks her father might
have been listening for signals of unknown origin and he would
create written records of what she described as Morse code
transmissions. After her father died a man came to the family
home and was adamant that he have the radio. This man was from
the private electronics sector and when her mother gave him
the radio he also took the many books that her father had
recorded the Morse code in.
Thorneside,
1983 [reported July 2007]
When 13 years old a woman saw a
large triangular-shaped object hovering about one metre above
the roof of the house. The object was nearly the size of the
roof and underneath there was a red circular flashing light.
On two points of the triangle was a line of red lights and
underneath the object there was a lot of intricate detail with
a non-smooth surface. The object hovered for two minutes above
the roof then slowly moved over the house next door, then
disappeared. She told her mother what she had seen but her
mother yelled at her and sent her to bed. The next day reports
of other sightings were reported on the radio.
Melbourne, 1953
- present [reported June 2007]
A woman telephoned from
Melbourne and described her experiences spanning many years
involving visitations, visions and paralysis. Her experiences
have been clustered in time, in that she might have
experiences every day for a month and then a period of many
weeks with none. These experiences have been going on since
1953 when she was a little girl. They take place at night and
frighten her. She thinks that she has been used for the
purposes of the beings involved, and has encountered up to
eight of these beings at a time.
Ellen Grove,
Brisbane, mid-1994 [reported August 2007]
This happened in June
or July 1994 at 6.00pm during the school holidays. I was 17
nearly, and it was either a Friday or a Tuesday. I remember
because I had cracked my ankle and was at the kitchen sink
getting a drink of water when I looked out the window and was
looking to the west. Anyway, the sun was going down and I saw
a cloud, but there was this really bright star (at least
that's what I thought it was). I stared at it for ages. It was
like I knew that it knew that I was watching it. I knew it was
not a star because no other stars were out yet -- because it
was not dark enough! Not only that but it looked like it was
in front of that cloud. Anyway I stared at for a good 10
minutes, and the sky was getting darker. I looked away for
half a second to make sure the cup was under the sink and BAM
the bright light was gone! Weird! It never moved at all, it
shone the same brightness, there was a huge clearing so it
didn't just move behind a tree since the trees were way too
far apart for it to hide behind in half a second! But the
feeling I had while watching it, it was like I knew what it
was. and it was like it knew I was watching it, and it was
like it was waiting for me to look away to disappear. I
remember it like it was yesterday! It was 6.00pm when I
started to stare at it, but it wasn't until 6:30pm when I
walked out of the kitchen onto the balcony to see if I could
see it somewhere after it disappeared. Maybe I did stare at it
for half an hour, I do remember looking at the clock before I
went to the sink and after I left the sink to see where the
light had gone though, and those are the two times that
remained in my head after all this time. That's another thing
-- as the time went by the star never moved at all, even
though all the other stars that came out into the night moved
in that amount of time, this one never moved.
Woomera 1950s
[reported September 2007]
A man who served as a security
policeman at Woomera for many years was shown an interesting
ground marking by a colleague. He was taken out onto the test
site to a place where a 20 foot circle was "melted" into the
ground. It was about 2 feet 6 inches deep, surrounded by three
small circles 2 feet 6 inches deep and also "melted" into the
ground. On another occasion excavation at the site exposed a
huge opal deposit which was loaded onto semi-trailer vehicles
and taken away while the rest of the deposit was covered over.
Ipswich 2006
[reported September 2007]
I live in Ipswich QLD and one night
around mid-2006 a mate and myself were outside looking up at
the stars when we both noticed a satellite-looking object that
suddenly zig-zagged in the air an a matter of seconds. It just
went straight up and disappeared. Most people I tell think I'm
crazy though I think they are just scared of the truth.
Toowoomba
1983 [reported October 2007]
When I was about 10 years
old, about the summer of 1983, I was looking out our kitchen
window in Perth St, Toowoomba, and saw a cyclamen pink sphere.
It was so close to our home in relation to the gum trees
nearby that even now I would estimate it was possibly within
500 metres of our house, so it appeared to be a very large
object. It would wobble then dart back and forth from side to
side, and then hover and wobble again. Being so young I don't
remember feeling scared but more curious. I watched it for a
couple of minutes before calling out to my father who was the
only other person at home at the time, but by the time he
finally got to the window it had disappeared. The next day on
the morning radio there were other reports of the object, but
there never seemed to be a big deal made about it -- I have a
feeling it was brushed off as a weather balloon or something
silly like that. I have never forgotten the incident simply
because it was so bizarre, and yes I was just a kid, but it
happened and I will never forget it!
Many years
later I was living on the escarpment in Highfields, not far
from Toowoomba, and it would have been about 1998. Again
during the summer months, and I was outside taking down the
washing in the evening when I saw several spherical lights out
over the valley. They were making similar movements to the one
I had seen as a child, in addition to taking off at great
speeds before coming to a dead halt in the sky. These guys
were throwing off different colours (not just pink). I got my
partner at the time, who was as big a sceptic as you could
meet, outside to take a look. He was astonished at these
things and sat out there with his binoculars watching them for
a good hour. I actually tired of it and went inside! The
following night on the 11.00pm news, similar sightings were
reported all up and down the east coast.
