2006
JANUARY>>
Jimna Range, New Years Eve
2005-2006, 10.00pm
A party of fourteen people were having
dinner outdoors on a 12,000 acre family property about 40
miles out of Kilcoy on the Jimna Range. They saw a plane and
an orange light to the East. A second object moved in a
straight line towards Kimbala that they thought unusual and
wanted to report it although it didn't have any unusual
movements.
Ipswich, January 15 2006,
3.00pm
Recently I took a photo of a cloud in the sky in
front of my house in Ipswich at 3:00pm on January 15, Later,
when I was going through the images on the computer, I noticed
that there was a dot in one of the clouds. Each time I zoom in
more and more it appears to be a UFO. I bought this camera a
week ago for the main purpose of taking photos of UFOs. I
found it a very big surprise that I have already captured one,
and wasn't expecting to capture one for months. My main plan
was to take the camera out to Blacksoil to see if I could take
a few photos of UFOs there because I used to live there and
had seen a few around.
Old Bar [NSW] January 23
2006, 10.30pm
On the 23rd of January 2006 at 10.30pm at
Old Bar NSW. I was closing my shed to walk to the house when I
saw a bright orange light out to sea. The orange ball was
larger than any star in the sky. I only glanced at it at first
as it caught my eye whilst walking to the house. The light
vanished so I walked out into the paddock to see if it would
come back. It then appeared again out to sea and was larger,
with another orange ball offset lower on the horizon. The
orange balls would stay on for a few seconds then vanish.
There was no sound and the orange ball I looked at first was
about 30 nautical miles away, and when it came back on it was
about 15Nm away, brighter and larger and had travelled this
distance in about five seconds. The objects did not descend or
ascend when lit up. I became concerned, but I don't know why,
I could only put my concern down to the idea that I could not
think of any earthbound objects that would be that large or
fast or even behave like the orange balls did.
Whilst walking back to the
house the ball started to get bigger and go on and off and
move around the sky in relation to where I had seen it each
time before. I went to get my wife and told her what I saw.
She thought I was joking but came outside to humour me. We
stood in the yard for five minutes before the two orange
lights came back, but this time down to the south, not in the
east where I first saw them. They were bright orange and big,
like a big bright orange spotlight in the sky. They would not
come on together, but would move from one location to another
in two regions of the sky to the south and travel 5 to 10Nm
between coming on and going off, within a second. They would
stay on for up to three to five seconds, and the light would
get larger the closer they came. The time intervals between
going on and going off made the distances they travelled seem
impracticable. They then started to flash in different
locations and we quickly counted ten large consecutive
movements and lights before they stopped. Within five minutes
we then noticed down the coast an aircraft's strobe lights a
long distance off, some 20Nm away. As the aircraft went to the
west towards Taree, we looked down to the south and saw two
red lights that looked the same size as the aircraft
travelling to Taree. The red lights stayed on and moved
parallel to each other heading south. We then saw a third red
light drop down between them and they vanished as the third
red light dropped down. I have been flying aircraft for three
years and we live in a restricted area that starts at 12,500ft
and extends up to 60,000ft. The objects were below the
restricted area in altitude and did not appear to be flares,
aircraft lights or firecrackers of any kind I have ever seen.
FEBRUARY>>
Bundell, February 9 2006,
7.50pm
At 7:50pm on Thursday February 9, my partner and I
sighted two objects flying approximately 200 metres seemingly
parallel to each other, that then vanished. They were sighted
for approximately three to four seconds, south-east in the
sky.
Sunnybank Hills, Friday
February 10 2006, 10:00pm
On Friday 10 February 2006, I
was sitting outside talking to one of our visitors. There was
cloud cover but no rain or storm activity. While chatting I
noticed in the sky to the south what I took to be the lights
of a plane travelling west. Something didn't seem right though
and my conversation dwindled as I tried to make out what it
was. The lights were travelling at what could have been normal
aircraft speed and a normal altitude but the lights seemed a
bit large. As I watched, the twin lights made an exact 90
degree turn and travelled north towards me. I thought perhaps
it wasn't an aircraft but a reflection from something? But as
they approached they were seen as balls of brilliant white
light with a tinge of blue. All of a sudden, as they neared,
they separated into a V-formation and absolutely SHOT over my
head. No way of telling how high they were, although they
seemed larger as they went overhead with incredible speed.
There was absolutely NO noise from them. It was so unusual
that I glanced at my watch and noted that it was 10:30pm. The
visitor was sitting side on to what I was viewing and said
that she did see light out of the corner of her eye but
nothing more. Needless to say everyone else is laughing - I'm
not. I have since spoken to my mother about this. She and my
father and brother had previously seen lights back in 1998.
Their sighting was from Denman, NSW, when two orange-red
lights came to play in the next door neighbour's garden. Five
hours later at 11.30 that night Brisbane Airport was closed
because of strange light formations. Their "lights" didn't
look or behave in the same manner as the ones I saw. What I
witnessed on Friday night still leaves me shaking my head....
From one totally amazed witness!
Sunnybank Hills, February 10
2006, 10.30pm
A Justice of the Peace observed to the
south, two bright white lights perform a soundless right angle
turn at high speed and continue to the north in a cloudy sky.
They then changed direction again, one to the northeast and
the other to the northwest and shot off faster than a jet. The
lights were bigger than those of a plane and moved above the
clouds. They were seen for only a few seconds. Many years ago
he had seen something similar with his brother and parents.
Geraldton [WA], Saturday
February 11 2006, 8:40pm
At 8.40pm on the 11th February
2006 a bright light was sighted travelling in an easterly
direction. At first I assumed it was a plane, however I
realised that the speed it was travelling at, it couldn't have
been a plane. I observed whatever it was for about two
minutes, then it sort off shot off in a vertical direction and
it disappeared. I know it was moving at high speed because I
was looking at a star and used it as a reference point. The
whatever-it-was was as bright as the star I was looking at.
There were two witnesses to this sighting
Tweed [NSW], Sunday February
20 2006
I was taking some photos of hot air balloons
flying near our place on Sunday morning 20.02.06. I was
photographing towards the sun and it was difficult to see much
detail at all. My eyes were watering at the sunlight. The
anomaly was noted when I downloaded the image to my PC and
viewed the photo at actual size. The anomaly is slightly
higher than the balloon and on the very edge of the photo. The
camera is a Canon A610, 5 mega pixel.
Morningside, February to May
2006
My wife and I live in Morningside and almost every
night we take the dog for a walk after 10.00pm. For the last
few months we've seen many unexplained things in the sky.
Being in the middle of a flight path we are used to aircraft
sightings and helicopters flying overhead, but they do not fit
the descriptions of what we saw.
On two separate occasions I
have looked up to admire the night sky and seen a bright
object moving very fast, up and out of Earth's atmosphere,
very similar to the space shuttle's trajectory. As the bright
white object moved up and out it gradually got dimmer. On one
occasion it nearly disappeared as it got so far away, but then
it obviously turned and came back down closer to earth as the
light moved across the sky again and got gradually brighter.
It then completely stopped and stayed there for about 20
minutes.
Another thing we've witnessed
recently is an object flying north to south at a few hundred
metres altitude. What is strange about this object was that it
was not "flashing" the way aircraft lights do, but like a
light bulb slowly glowing bright and then slowly getting dim
as it moved across the sky. It was completely silent and then
it suddenly disappeared as it moved across the sky. There was
no cloud whatsoever, so it didn't vanish into a cloudbank.
About a minute later a helicopter appeared as if following the
object. It hovered and then continued in the same direction as
the object. I remarked to my wife that Amberley may have seen
the object and sent a helicopter to get a visual. Very
strange.
MARCH>>
Bundamba, March 3 2006, 8.00pm
A man who recalls a number of paranormal UFO related incidents
saw a giant cigar shaped object over his house at 8.00pm.
Vincennes Indiana, USA,
Tuesday March 14, 2006, night
We saw three flashing lights
in different "triplet beats" with a rest beat of about two
seconds. They were moving in different directions and at
different elevations. One was heading over top of the car
going south east at a high elevation level. In a matter of
seconds it was dropping what appeared to be flares that were
burning out in about two seconds. It dropped a total of three
flares in 15 seconds, and so did another object heading north
at a normal jet level, All three objects had a white light.
But then we noticed another one straight north, way up in the
sky and it had a pulse of every second with a yellowish light
to it.
Southeast
Queensland, Tuesday March 16 2006, 6.25pm
We received ten
reports of a bright object moving east to west seen for five
to ten seconds. The reports came from as far south as Grafton
and as far north as Hervey Bay. Garry Opit received five
reports from Northern NSW as well. The details of this
sighting are consistent with a meteor.
Zillmere, Sunday March 26,
9.00 to 9.10pm
A man was driving from Zillmere to Brisbane
City and saw a flashing, twirling silver light to his South.
His radio was off and he heard no noise which might have been
associated with the light. He kept the light in sight for
about eight minutes and lost sight of it in Fortitude Valley,
just north of Brisbane.
Regents Park, Brisbane, Sunday
March 28 2006
The witness was filming the sky for
lightning stills and obtained four minutes of video of an
object gliding down and then ascending straight into a storm
cloud he had been observing.
APRIL>>
Brisbane, Sunday April 2
2006, day
Today 2/04/06 myself and my Spanish friend went
to Southbank. We had decided to go to the lagoon as it was
such a hot day. We were lying on the grass, I was looking into
the clear blue sky when i noticed a star, or what appeared to
be a star. It was so small, like a dot of silver in the sky,
but moving not in a straight line like a plane, which my
Spanish friend thought it was... and then it was joined by
another "star" object, both kind of moving. Then the second
one disappeared and the first one stayed for a while before it
went. The time span from of this whole sighting must only have
been a few minutes, maybe two or three. But we both saw these
"stars" in broad daylight up against a bright blue sky. I saw a similar thing ten years
ago in the UK, but it was at night. It was like two dancing
stars, and they did the same thing, where one disappeared and
the other danced around in the same area. These objects
sometimes looked slightly red in colour.
NSW Central Coast, Monday
April 3 2006, night
I have noticed on random nights if I
look into the sky and stare for a while [at least five
minutes] that almost every time I can spot what looks to be
single very small stars moving very fast, faster than any
plane across the sky, usually in a north west-south west
direction. The objects can change their speed randomly but
mostly keep to the same speed. I have noticed this on five out
of seven nights in a week. The objects appear to be very high
and only the smallest dot of light, but the speeds are
incredible. There is no way they can be shooting stars. They
are dim lights with no tail, mostly travelling in the same
direction with variations of speed.
Robina [Gold Coast], April 4
2006, 4.00am
A man recorded 28 minutes of video of a light
at an elevation of about 75 degrees and to the east. With the
camera on a tripod for 14 minutes the image moved to the top
left of the camera frame.
Newmarket, Qld, April 12
2006, 8.00pm
I saw something fly across the sky I have
never seen before. Standing outdoors at Newmarket, Brisbane,
facing south at approximately 8.00pm, clear sky, naked eye.
Just below the Southern Cross I saw four lights following each
other. They were moving in a line, all the same distance
apart, but the line didn't seem rigid. They flew south across
the sky for about fifteen seconds and then they were out of
sight.
Ipswich, April 12 2006,
9.40pm
A man was in bed looking out through a window to
the west and observed Venus. He then saw a delta- shaped
opaque object coming from the direction of Amberley Air Base.
It was the size of an F1-11 but made no sound. Its speed was
like that of a jet. His neighbour has also had unusual
sightings.
St George, April 19 2006,
11.00pm
My boyfriend alerted me to movement in the sky at
around 11.00pm last night Wednesday April 19. It appeared to
have a blue light on top and red down the bottom. The movement
was in an S-shaped pattern and it moved erratically before
disappearing.
Robina, Gold
Coast, April 22 2006, 4.00am
A woman observed a bluish
white light to the east at an elevation of about 75 degrees.
It was estimated to be three times brighter than Venus on a
clear night. Her husband mounted a video camera on a tripod
and obtained 28 minutes of footage. The light moved to the top
left of the camera frame in 14 minutes. Its motion was
consistent with it being a celestial object.
MAY>>
Zilzie [North QLD], May 3
2006, 9.25-10.25pm
Our dogs were barking on the back
veranda, so I went out to quieten them down. Looked up at the
night sky and saw three lights that were not normal. They were
star-sized [evening star] and the top light was about size of
the end of a biro, with the two underneath about half the
size. The lights stayed steady, When viewed through binoculars
the three lights were blue with clearly outlined red around
the outside, similar to the top of a police car [only they
don't fly]. A fourth identical light was seen about a
kilometre away. I called my neighbours and they
came over to the backyard, By this time I could only see two
of these objects, when the neighbours spotted two more. I
tried to ring Rockhampton airport, 40 kilometres from where I
live, but no go. I then rang the Bureau of Meteorology, but
only reached someone in Brisbane. It was a clear night and the
event occurred over the mouth of a large creek system and the
small town of Keppel Sands.
Newmarket, May 7 2006,
7.30pm
Four lights moving quickly north to south
approximately 30 degrees west from where I was standing at
Newmarket. The lights were all moving at the same speed, three
were in a line, one was slightly east of the front two. I saw
less than ten seconds of it before it was out of view.
Drummoyne [NSW], reported
May 5 2006
Recently I took a photo in my back yard in
Drummoyne and had a spaceship in the trees. Before you think I
am off the rails I photographed it, about five photos. On
board, as the space ship was transparent, there were beings.
Like white balls with green centres. Could you advise if there
is somewhere in Sydney that I can have someone look at my
spaceship and advise me. [UFORQ did request a copy of the
photos for our own edification. As of this date they have not
yet arrived.]
Thurgoona [NSW], May 9 2006,
night
A friend and I, both 19. were walking home after a
night out [we were intoxicated but at this point starting to
sober up]. We had decided to save money and walk. Not far from
home we both saw a jagged bluish [the colour of lightning]
beam. It seemed to be scanning the area for something [us
maybe]. Also, we have both recently had problems with sleeping
where we feel half conscious but can't move or wake up. All
this happened in Thurgoona, just out of Albury NSW.
Moree [NSW], May 10 2006,
8.20pm
Last night [10/05/06] at approximately 8.20pm I was
driving my sons and their friend [all aged 12 and 13] home
from karate when we all noticed a bright ball of orange light
in the western sky at about 45 degrees above the horizon of
Moree NSW. This light was hovering in a small elliptical
orbit. Seconds later it was joined by an identical "orange
ball" and then a couple of seconds later a third "orange
ball". The three balls were all hovering in their own small
elliptical orbit but were together moving in one larger
elliptical orbit. One or the other of them would momentarily
disappear but would reappear almost as soon as it was gone.
This continued for approximately 30 seconds then all three
vanished at the same moment.
Although I was driving through
the residential part of town at the time, the view was very
clear as there is not a lot of street lighting. The sky was a
typical crisp, clear outback autumn sky with no cloud and the
stars clearly visible. The "orange ball" lights were far too
large to be planes or helicopters and did not move in a manner
appropriate to either. I have no explanation for what we saw
and I have never seen anything like it before in my 47 years.
Southport, Sunday May 14
2006, 11.00am
I don't know if this is in your field or
not, but we saw something interesting when we went to
Southport/Main Beach on the Gold Coast last Sunday, 14 May
2006. At about 11.00am my partner was lying on the beach
looking up into the sky when he called to my attention
something he saw almost directly above us. It was three very
bright almost metallic lights, not very large, but in a
triangular formation. They were very very high up, higher than
planes go. They were almost stationary but when I watched them
for a while I realised they were moving very slowly, but all
at the same time. I was watching each one to see if they were
moving independently or if one was going faster or slower than
another, but they all seemed to be at the same speed. There
seemed to be a faint white tail on each of them, but the light
was so bright that it was hard to discern that. The light was
like a reflected light, but it didn't fade or wane, it
remained constantly bright. I stopped watching them at that
time and went back to the kids, but my partner continued
watching them with some other people on the beach, and the
three objects moved away towards the direction of the sun. At
this point the other people who were watching pointed out that
there were about seven or eight of them altogether. My partner
then watched one of them as it seemed to grow brighter and
moved incredibly fast towards the other ones, but as they were
all in direct line with the sun and as they were moving away
from us, he lost visual sighting of them. Really, if you
weren't looking up at the sky just at that moment, you
wouldn't have seen them because they were just so far up in
the sky.
Hervey Bay, May 16 2006,
6.20pm
I have just sighted something most unusual. Ten
minutes ago at about 6.20pm, my mum and I looked up from our
verandah and saw a bright light looking like a shooting star,
but it was low to the ground and appeared to be breaking up.
It lit up the verandah, was bright blue/green/white and moved
east to west towards Torbanlea. We didn't hear any noise. I'm
sure there is a logical explanation. However we wanted to
report it anyway.
Marburg, May 16 2006, 6.20pm
Sighted a blue/green glow behind clouds in the northern sky
above Marburg Queensland. It looked like lightning glowing,
but blue-green in colour. Then a fireball I presume sped/fired
through in front of the clouds leaving a sparkling trail as it
headed towards the hills behind our hilltop house. I was
driving up the hill in northerly direction. The fireball went
in the north-west direction towards the ground. I was amazed
at the brightness and colour.
Sunshine Coast, May 16 2006,
6.30pm
Moving very fast, about the size of a helicopter,
moving east to west and blue/orange/yellow. I was heading
north on the Bruce Highway, in approximately the Beerwah,
Landsborough, Glass House mountain area. UNBELIEVABLE.
Southeast Queensland, May 16
2006, 6.30pm
On Tuesday, 16 May 2006 at about 6.30 pm our
telephone contact number was locked up for about 40 minutes by
people reporting a large, bright green object moving east to
west at about 6.20 pm. We also received reports via the
Internet, and from a member residing in northern New South
Wales. The sightings were made by people located on a
north-south line spanning from about Ballina to Hervey Bay, a
distance of about 375 kilometres and a line west from Brisbane
to about Gatton, about 100 km. The witnesses were looking to
the north or the south [Hervey Bay] at an object moving east
to west, so it must have been at an altitude of the order of
50 km. The duration of sightings was up to 5 seconds and
sparks came off the object and tended to be left behind. These
details are consistent with a piece of space junk or a
meteorite burning up in our atmosphere.
New Farm,
Saturday May 20 2006, 8.30pm
An unidentified object was
photographed New Farm Park, Brisbane 6:30pm Saturday 20th May
2006. The object was stationary and very high up. It appeared
to be a flame-changing shape until it became a sphere. It flew
off at an incredible pace over Mt. Coot-tha, then accelerated
upward and disappeared. The whole event lasted about two
minutes. This object was sighted by my wife and myself and
approximately 30 other people in the park at the time.
Southport,
Tuesday May 23 2006, 7.00-8.00pm
I observed a very bright
light heading outwards and then turning red in colour Tuesday
May 23 2006 at around 8.00pm. It then disappeared. The object
was travelling in an upwards direction heading southeast
between 7.00 and 8.00pm at an approximate angle of 45 degrees.
It originally had the brightness of Jupiter and lasted
approximately 30 seconds until it began to dim and turned red.
It was definitely not a plane. My partner also observed the
object.
Caboolture,
May 24 2006, 5.00pm
I just wanted to share with someone
the sighting I had today. Caboolture 5.oopm, 24 May 2006, in
the western sky: I was parked in a newly created estate when I
noticed what I initially thought was a plane in the sky, quite
close to the horizon. It was unusual however, as the white
shape that I thought was a plane had two wide triangular
jet-streams coming from it at the position of approximately 2
o'clock and 10 o'clock. These white plumes were quite short
but wide. My mother and six year old son all saw this and
while we watched it -- it didn't appear to be moving -- we
noticed a very bright light a little south of this. We thought
it was a bright early star, and then went about our business.
When we looked back at our ‘UFO’ it hadn't moved but the light
had, in the direction of the ‘UFO’, and it now had behind it
two wide jet streams. These were in the position of 12 o'clock
and 10 o'clock, and looked the same as the other. As we drove
home, when we next got a clear view of the objects, the first
‘UFO’ also had a bright light. After that we lost our view of
them to the trees on the horizon. There, now I've told
someone. Hope this helps someone. I find it quite strange how
casually all three of us accepted this UFO.
Boondall, May 24 2006,
9.15pm
A woman observed two orange lights moving south to
northeast for twenty minutes, in a straight steady motion.
Gailes, May
26 2006, 6.15pm
A witness observed two flashes in the
eastern sky and heard reports some seconds later. She has a
telescope and on the previous night at about 7.00pm she saw a
bright light near a star in a moonless, cloud-free sky, which
'went off'. Southeast Queensland, May 26 2006, 10.00-10.08pm I
was outside taking the rubbish out and I saw a star that
appeared to be flashing blue, green and yellow. I called my
wife who also saw it and got the binoculars so we had a closer
look. We both definitely saw it and it looked just like a star
but flashing those colours. After around 2-3 minutes it faded
and disappeared.
Regents Park, May 28 2006
A woman intending to obtain video footage of lightning
activity recorded 4 minutes of footage of an object 'gliding'
up and down and then moving straight into a storm cloud. This
footage is yet to be received by UFORQ.
JUNE>>
Yungaburra North Queensland,
Saturday June 4 2006
The witness was taking photos of the
sunset. An object showed up later on one of his images.
Ipswich, June 6 2006, night
We went down to Ipswich City Mall on Thursday 6th June at
night to get some milk, and when we got to the centre of the
mall I felt like there was someone watching us. I looked up
and saw two very big round golden balls going straight up in
the air. They were very high in the air and as big as four
football fields each. My first time, and I know what I saw.
Not from this world.
Edens Landing, Saturday June
26 2006, 10.50pm
A woman observed a bright light just
above a house for about 10 minutes. It rose vertically and was
lost to sight. It was about one tenth the size of the full
moon.
Greenbank, Wednesday June 28
2006
A witness saw a bright light above the trees in a 'No
Go' zone in the Greenbank Army Camp. It illuminated trees
about one kilometre away and then descended behind them. Its
apparent size was about three millimetres at arm's length and
it was seen for about five seconds.
JULY>>
Mt Holly near Rubyvale,
Tuesday July 4 2006, night
On three successive nights a
man was sleeping in a tent in bushland when the ground shook
like a giant walking by. The footsteps stopped near his tent,
and on the first occasion his tent flap was being lifted a few
inches at a height of four to five feet. On that occasion he
yelled out, thinking that a practical joke was being played on
him by other nearby campers.
Hervey Bay, July 8 2006,
5.05pm
I was on the fishing jetty and looked up as a
gyrocopter went over. I noticed an object hanging overhead as
a slash of golden light. It moved in a silent downward arc
with a tail streaming behind. I had the sense of it being in
the outer atmosphere. I also have footage of a couple of
dolphins that started jumping out of the water as it went
over. It faded out of visual sight over the last point of
Hervey Bay but the camera still picked it up until it vanished
in the clouds.
Narangba, Wednesday July 12
2006, 10:50am
At about 10:50am Wednesday 12th July I was
sitting outside and heard what sounded like a plane dropping
altitude, but it sounded about four or five times louder than
normal. The sound lasted around ten seconds. I looked up into
a clear blue sky and did not see any planes, but I did see
what for a split second seemed to be a plastic bag floating
rather high and a fair way north of me. But as I watched this
it seemed to be moving too fast and it was shining too bright.
It seemed to go in a northeast direction and was also kind of
slightly bouncing as well. It lasted about 7-12 seconds before
it vanished. I did sit there for a further 35 minutes and saw
nothing but a few planes, but as I viewed them it seemed they
had a dark wet look, and moved a lot slower across the sky.
The planes were not very bright and cone-shaped.
Suburban Melbourne, Saturday
July 15 2006, 3.00am
On Saturday the 15th of July, around
3.00pm in the afternoon, I was taking a nap on my bed to get rid
of a seriously painful migraine that had been bugging me for
the past week. I was zoning in and out of sleep when I heard a
noise outside my window. My bed's right next to my window, and
my window overlooks the driveway between the neighbour's house
and mine. It sounded like a stereotypical UFO sound out of
some lame B-grade flick. I double-checked to make sure I was
fully awake, and tried looking through the crack in my
curtains to see what it was, and suddenly I was completely
paralysed. It was like some kind of force had grabbed me and
frozen me in place to prevent me from looking outside. Every
muscle in my body was rigidly tense, my eyes were glued to the
ceiling, and my jaw was clenched so tight I couldn't make a
sound. During this time, I caught a glimpse through the
curtains of a shadows passing by the light, as if something
was either above my house, or right next to my window! For a
few seconds I fought this ‘force’ by trying to turn my head
towards the window, and eventually it stopped. The noise was
still outside for a few seconds, but when I regained my senses
and opened the curtains it quickly faded away, and I saw
nothing more. Strangely, after my little ‘fit’, my migraine
was completely gone and didn't return for a few days.
Three days later at midnight I
was still struggling to get to sleep after that experience,
when I heard a chattering/chirping in the driveway outside my
window. It sounded very bird-like, but definitely
intelligible! I thought at first that perhaps a bird had
fallen out of a nearby tree, broken a wing, and was calling
000... or something else ‘semi-rational.’ Then I heard a
similar chatter respond to the first, and the more I listened,
the more I figured that there were at least two of whatever
was out there, and they were talking to each other. Then there
was a loud slapping noise that sounded like footsteps, and
that's when I started getting seriously frightened. I tried
peeking out of the curtains once, but the chatter immediately
died down. I eventually forced myself to get to sleep, though
before I fell asleep I heard the chatter continue. When I woke
up the next morning, my migraine had returned.
So I've concluded three things:
there is SOMETHING out there that it's interested in me... and
that B-grade alien flicks have done quite an accurate job with
the UFO sound effects. Just for
the record, I'm a mentally healthy 18 year-old from
Melbourne's suburbs, and have no history of mental illness,
migraines, or of imagining things which aren't there. I've had
a recent check-up with my doctor, and things still seem
perfectly normal.
Caboolture, July 22 2006,
7.45pm
I am 16 years of age and I am very concerned and
worried about what happened to my parents and I at 7:45
tonight [22/07/06]. During that time I was sitting in my room
with my mum testing my new hair straightener. After mum left
my room to talk to my dad about their fish tank, I heard a
loud hovering sound near or above my room getting louder and
louder. At first I thought it might have been a plane flying
over us. However the sound came too sudden for that. I
couldn't stand the sound much longer due to the fact I thought
it was right outside my window. I screamed out to my mum
saying that there was something outside the window and she ran
to my room as quickly as possible [she was hearing the noise
as well]. She opened my window and saw nothing. But we could
hear a faint version of the noise that I heard, still outside
my window. My dad ran downstairs to see if there was anything
in the backyard and looked up, but nothing was in sight. The
thing that concerns me most is that my family heard it clearly
and can't make any sense of it at all. We checked our next
door neighbours to see if they saw or heard anything but only
one of them heard some sort of noise. This only lasted for
20-30 seconds, sounding like a spinning/whirring object
hovering over my room or outside my window, moving up and down
to see something in our house [this is what it sounded like].
I would like a scientific explanation because I am very
worried and scared as I have never experienced this before.
Kyogle, July 22 2006,
10.00pm
I wish to report a sighting in the sky above
Kyogle at 10.00pm tonight. My partner and I were standing on
the verandah facing northeast when a large glowing ball
descended from the sky, well-illuminated with a long glowing,
flame-like tail, heading towards Lismore on its decent. This
lasted for about ten seconds before the glow went out well
above the ground. We are interested to know if anyone else
happened to see this incredible sighting. We have seen many a
falling star before but nothing compared to this.
Blackwater, July 22/23 2006,
7.25pm
I would like to draw your attention to a possible
UFO sighting at Blackwater Queensland on the nights of July
22nd and July 23rd.
At about 7:25pm on the 22nd of
July I returned home from work and noticed what I first
thought was the Southern Cross star formation which was very
bright. I looked again and noticed there where only three
stars. Thinking that I had made a mistake I searched for the
Southern Cross and found it in the correct place, then
rechecked the position of the three other objects -- they had
moved. I called out to my wife and she saw them as well. The
objects appeared to be very large bright stars, orange-red in
colour, to the right side of the Southern Cross and moving
slowly west. They were visible for about five minutes.
Sunday 23rd
July: On returning home tonight my wife and our next door
neighbour witnessed another sighting at about 6:25pm. except
there were twelve objects moving east to west and lower in the
sky, the same colour and brightness, except this time one of
the objects broke away and moved in a southerly direction. I
would like to know if there is any natural or other
explanation for what we witnessed.
Greenbank, Friday July 28
2006, night
A security guard working at Greenbank saw
lights hovering above the tree line in the centre of the range
area, and observed two smaller lights come out of a larger
one. He had seen other similar events on previous nights, and
has had a number of sightings since age 13. He is now 38.
AUGUST>>
Canberra, Saturday August 5
2006, 10.30pm
On Saturday 5/08/06 at 2230 hours in
Canberra I noticed something in the sky as I was driving.
There were four round balls [is the only way I can explain
them] that were lit up, moving around quite slowly, and I
really do not know how far away they were or how fast they
were travelling. When I first noticed them they were in a
straight, horizontal line one under the other, then one ball
of light [an amber-yellowish colour] went behind another and
slowly came back into view. It was as though they were
hovering in the sky. We stopped and got out of the car to have
a better look. There were already approximately ten or so cars
that had also pulled over on the side of the road, and the
people in them had got out of their cars and were looking up
at these strange balls of light. I asked one guy in the car
next to us ‘what do you think they are?’, but he had no idea.
I had my mobile
phone on me so I took a video recording of these strange balls
of light, although later when I replayed the video I was
disappointed, as there was nothing much that had come out
clearly so you couldn't really see anything except the moon.
But if you go frame by frame it is quite exciting. I really
wish I had pulled over when I first saw these lights - four of
them were one on top of the other - it would have been even
more spectacular. You could actually see more lights around
the light itself. [The witness was able to email the footage to UFORQ but unfortunately the image size is too small for clear
details to be discerned - PP] The amber coloured balls of
light moved slowly away from each other and went up into
space, getting smaller and smaller to our eyes until we could
no longer see them. No one could explain them. They certainly
were not planes, helicopters, laser lights or air balloons.
Really weird, strange!! I have other people I know that were
not with me that particular night who saw these four amber
coloured lights in the sky as well on the same night.
On the Monday I spoke to a
woman that works in my office and told her what we had seen.
She said that her husband and a couple of friends were outside
and they also saw those amber coloured balls in the sky. We
all had no idea what they were and had never seen anything
like this before. On Tuesday I called the Mt Stromlo
Observatory and asked had they had any calls regarding what I
had seen on Saturday night. They said that they hadn't as they
look further out at planets, but told me to contact the
Melbourne Air Traffic Control and speak to them, which I
haven't as yet.
Caboolture, August 7 2006,
6.15pm
My husband and I just witnessed what we think was a
UFO sighting from our backyard in Caboolture, Queensland. We
were looking up at the sky and saw what appeared to be two
stars, but on closer inspection saw that they were moving at
an exceptionally fast pace. They were definitely too high to
be aircraft of any conventional type, and were not falling,
but rather moving across the sky. They were together for the
first few moments, but then gradually began to taper off from
each other until we could no longer see them.
Rosewood, August 21 2006,
1:10am
Early this morning, at 1:10am to 1:15am August 21,
2006, I happened to see an extremely bright white flash
[hundreds of times brighter than Sirius] about 40° above the
horizon at 30° [north-northeast] of here and thousands of
kilometres in space, followed by four orange objects leaving
this spot, swerving towards the west, southwest, southeast and
east over the next five minutes or so. The speeds of the
individual orange objects had to be in excess of 10,000km/h at
a height in excess of 1,000km. I eventually lost sight of the
individual orange objects as they disappeared behind high but
sparse clouds. I have above average knowledge of aircraft and
satellites, and above average knowledge of meteorology and
astronomy [several years of detailed observations and study].
The only time I reported a sighting to the Air Force was a
black triangle [50 metres tip to tip] coming from the
direction of Amberley Air Force Base, then veering along this
road at a height of about 15m, totally silent, no lights - was
told ‘not one of ours, mate’.
Townsville Strand, August 28
2006, 6.30pm
A witness observed two lights moving about as
the stars were coming out, for about 15 minutes. They moved
about both slowly and quickly, changing direction. One of the
lights disappeared. He took his eyes off the remaining light
and when he looked back it was gone.
Blackwater, Central
Queensland, August/September 2006
In August or
September 2006 my sister was living in Blackwater about 45
minutes east of Emerald. She had just finished afternoon shift
at one of the local mines and was driving home. She said she
saw 20 orange/gold coloured flying objects in the sky. They
weren't flashing like normal aircraft but maintained their
colour. There was a car in front of her who she thinks must
have seen them too as they began to swerve a little, but she
doesn't know who they are. She called my mum who lives in
Blackwater to see if she had heard or seen helicopters fly
overhead as she thought that's what they might be. My mum
heard and saw nothing. I now live in Sydney but always
remember the strange things that happened in Central
Queensland. I don't know what UFOs are but I know I saw one.
And I'm pretty sure my sister saw 20 of them.
SEPTEMBER>>
Coolangatta, September 9
2006
I took a series of photos on Saturday September 9
2006 from the northern end of the runway at Coolangatta
Airport at approximately 1.10pm. I didn't notice anything
unusual until I later viewed the photos and found a black
object in the background appearing to be moving at very high speed. The camera
is a digital SLR and was operating on bracketing mode when it
took this series of shots in very short succession. The object
is visible in the last three of the photos, moving west to
east with a very high rate of climb. The only aircraft I know
that could likely be in that area with that sort of
performance would be an RAAF F-111. However on inspection the
object appears more disc shaped and doesn't seem to be leaving
the usual exhaust trail quite often seen with RAAF jets.
Regents Park, Sunday
September 17 2006, evening
A man observed a bright light
about 4000-5000 feet in altitude travelling silently across
the evening sky. It was moving smoothly in an arc at
approximately 400-500mph in a north-west direction. It was the
size of his palm at arm's length and as it moved it blocked
the stars. The duration of the sighting was 20 seconds.
Brisbane, September 18 2006,
6.20pm
I noticed what appeared to be a large star moving
in the sky from west to east, but the thing that got me was
that there was another star slightly smaller following it at
the same speed. The smaller object kept the same distance
behind the larger one the whole time it was observed. There
was also no sound accompanying the objects as they were
travelling at quite a high speed, specially considering the
altitude.
Stanthorpe, September 18
2006, 6.25pm
Two lights travelling due east at a fast rate
of knots directly over Stanthorpe. They displayed a solid
white light until they hit 10 kilometres away, then displayed
flashes of green red and white. They were travelling in a
consistent formation, one behind the other with absolutely no
sound. This was seen by five adults, totally sober.
Carindale, September 18
2006, 6.25pm
Did anyone else in Brisbane see the pair of
lights pass across our sky at about 6.25pm on 18/9/06? The
lead light appeared about the size of Venus and the second
about star-size to the naked eye. They travelled from the
northeast heading southeast. The trailing light remained the
same distance from the lead light for the whole time that I
observed them, which was approximately 90 seconds. The
luminescence of the lights did not vary at any time from the
change in angle from overhead to over the horizon. The lights
did not flash or change colour but remained a bright yellow
throughout the observation. They were not a plane [as known]
nor a meteorite. I live beneath the BAC flight paths and have
observed enough of either to know the difference. Flight paths
this evening has been for takeoffs to the south. I was not
able to approximate their altitude but my guess would be they
were in the jet stream or stratospheric level. I was struck by
two qualities of the lights: that they remained the same
distance apart the whole time and that there was no change in
luminescence from the change in angle of view as they passed
across the sky.
Greenslopes, September 18
2006, 6.20-6.25pm
I observed three objects in total.
Initially two bright white objects were in a stationary
position below Jupiter in the west at around 6.20pm and while
the sky was still light. Within a minute these two objects
moved off in two separate directions. One moved to the
northwest and ‘turned itself off’ just past Mt Coot-tha. The
second object moved southeast, passing almost directly
overhead. It moved at a steady pace and changed from pure
white to an orangey-yellow colour the closer it got to 90
degrees. At just past 90 degrees [directly overhead] it passed
a smaller and dimmer stationary star, but as it passed this
‘stationary’ star, the second star moved into position behind
the first object [to form a straight line formation] and they
both proceeded together at exactly the same distance apart and
exactly the same speed the entire time. This second object did
not accelerate to match the first object, it just seemed to
move from stationary to the same speed as the first object
instantly. It was completely uncanny. I watched them to the
horizon, a total of almost 160 degrees of sky in about one and
a half to two minutes, and they didn't change magnitude at all
which indicates to me that they were generating their own
luminescence rather than reflecting the light from the sun as
a satellite would. Further, the first object commenced its
trajectory from a stationary position, effectively ruling out
any possibility that it was a satellite.
Adelaide, September 26 2006
A man reported that he had obtained video footage of an
aircraft and a UFO in the sky near Adelaide Airport. The UFO
appeared in 12 frames and its speed was estimated to be about
3600 km/h. Townsville, September 27 2006, 9.48pm We [self and
spouse] spotted two orange glows high in the azimuth - I
indicate not in the atmosphere - one in trail to the other,
however maintaining a constant spacing as they traversed the
skyline travelling in an easterly to westerly direction at a
rate which I estimated to be satellite speed. The moon was
just about to set in the west and I took a camera avi file,
but on viewing my monitor was unable to detect clearly any
moving object. I also took other still shots which cannot see
what the naked eye saw. By 9:48pm the event was over, I also
observed in this time the moon had gone below horizon.
Narangba, September 2006,
1.00pm
I think I saw a UFO. I was outside playing with my
mate when we took a photo [not shown] of us doing jumps. In
the background of the photo is a shape which I can tell is not
a bird but looks like a UFO. When I saw the object again later
it was in the southwest and made sharp manoeuvres which an
aircraft could not do.
OCTOBER>>
Beachmere, Queensland,
Tuesday October 10 2006, night
A man was out fishing and
observed a green/blue light for three to four seconds moving
very fast towards the Glasshouse Mountains in a straight line
at an angle of elevation of 25 to 30 degrees.
Samford Valley, Friday
October 13 2006, 2.30am
The witness observed a light like
a twinkling star to the north, and aligned it with branches of
a tree. He observed it for an hour during which it stayed the
same brightness and stars 'moved' around it while it remained
in the same place. Two witnesses and his family also observed
it.
Gailes, Monday October 16
2006, 9.30pm
At about 9:30pm on 16/10/06 I observed three
yellowish lights in an equilateral triangle formation
travelling in a south to north direction. I observed the
lights from my deck at Gailes [halfway between Ipswich and
Brisbane]. The lights were about the same apparent size and
colour as your average star - that is, a dim pale yellow
colour - and did not flash or waver. At first I thought it was
a shooting star, but then as it was travelling at a constant
rate I thought it must have been a satellite, as it seemed
very high up as it tracked 'between' the stars. As my eyes
accustomed to the light I saw to my great surprise that there
were actually three lights in formation. The size of the
formation was as if it would fit across the tip of my index
finger with my arm fully outstretched, if that helps. I also
noticed that there was no sound at all; a low flying jumbo jet
passed over from east to west five minutes later and it really
highlighted the noise, flashing lights and red and green
lights of your standard jumbo. That's about all I can say as
they quickly disappeared out of sight to the north. My first
thought was 'UFO', and my next one was 'spy plane'. Maybe it
was just a regular plane. Could you shed any light on this?
Highfields, Queensland,
Wednesday 18 October 2006
I was taking the bins out and
something came into the centre of my view and I looked over
and there it was, I saw this craft in the night sky from a
distance between the trees. I thought it was a regular
aircraft but it did not move, it was floating. It wasn't a
helicopter because it moved side to side really fast which a
helicopter could not do. The ship had a flashing light and
lights on the side, I looked away for sudden moment then it
was gone in a split second. Pretty freaky.
Dakabin, Monday October 23
2006, 2.30am
An elderly couple coming home saw a big
bright light in the sky as they pulled in to their drive. The
light came towards them and the man shone a torch at it,
whereupon it moved off to the northwest.
Shailer Park, Tuesday
October 24 2006, 8.25am
A man observed a brown object
about half the size of the engine of a 737 following about 200
to 300 meters behind an aircraft.
Melbourne, October 2006,
night
I am writing to you in the hope that you may be able
to give me some explanation of what I saw in the night sky in
Melbourne about five months ago. It was a very clear night
and, as is my usual routine, I went out in my backyard for a
smoke before going to bed. On nights like that I like to spot
satellites and meteorites. Almost every time I do this, I see
at least one or two satellites so I am very familiar with what
they look like and how they move through the sky. I also live
near the airport so I am also very aware of the difference
between planes and satellites in the sky. This particular
night I saw a satellite moving almost directly north-south at
a constant speed. Then I noticed it slow down and start to
turn towards the east in a wide arc, something I had never
seen before. Then, while I was trying to comprehend what I was
seeing, I saw a second satellite approaching from the north at
a very high speed. It passed extremely close to the first
satellite as though it was sent to intercept the first one,
and continued at speed on its heading towards the south. It
seems that the second satellite didn't have the ability to
change course like the first one did. The original one
continued along its curved path from the north and disappeared
into the east. I have told a small number of friends and
family about this but I've never told anyone else. I don't
have any photographic evidence but my memory of the event is
very clear.
NOVEMBER>>
Blue Mountains, November 11
2006
A man now living at Deception Bay was camping in the
bush in the Blue Mountains with his dog. He thought he was
being stalked by a 'Bigfoot', which shook trees as it moved
about. He picked up a bowie knife and a sharpened stick and
'wet' himself standing there.
Regents Park, Saturday
November 11 2006, 5.00-6.00pm
A witness was looking south
with binoculars with the sun low in the sky and saw what
looked like a comet with its tail split in two, moving
straight down slowly at an elevation of 15 to 20 degrees. The
details of this report are consistent with aircraft contrails.
Wynnum, Brisbane, 21
November 2006 9.00pm
I was driving along Wondall Road
Wynnum, towards the east, when I saw a matt-grey flying saucer
hovering motionless over the foreshore area. It was large. I
estimate it was about 500 metres above the ground as I have
been a pilot. It was about the length of an airliner and had
portholes lit up around the perimeter. It had a blue light on
top. I turned into the driveway of my unit which was close by
and looked in the direction that I had seen the saucer, but it
had disappeared.
Amberley, Wednesday November
22 2006, 12.04pm
West of Amberley AFB; cloudless skies, at
12:04pm [midday]: saw willy-willy spiralling very high into
the sky. As I followed the dust upwards there was a very
bright metallic-looking craft heading for the area of the top
of the willy-willy [but much higher], which I considered to be
a jet. As it flew way above the willy-willy, I could still see
its light through the dust, going in a straight line from
south to north. It carried on past the dusty section and then
suddenly did a very sharp left hand U-turn [tighter than would
be possible even with an F/A-18], wobbled some, and
straightened out again. As it re-entered the area above the
dust, its light could still be seen through it, when it
suddenly vanished. Total time of observation about 12 to 15
seconds. At 12:14pm the first of three F-111's headed from
Amberley towards the northwest. After 12:23pm at least one
F-111 was heard around the area for several more minutes.
Centenary Heights,
Toowoomba, Friday November 24 2006, 12.50am
We want to
report something very unusual that we saw and heard last
night. Both my husband and I were awoken last night to an
exceptionally loud sound that could neither be described as a
helicopter or an aeroplane. It sounded like a persistent loud
hum. It was at 12.50am this morning [24th November 2006]. My
husband got up and looked out our bedroom window but it had
scared me, so I stayed away from the window. He said that he
saw a round object, a bit bigger than a Lear jet. The lights
were blue, red and green, with small flickering white lights.
It was hovering slowly in an S-shaped pattern, and then went
off to the distance in the west, and the noise faded. We live
in Centenary Heights in Toowoomba and it came from over the
eastern side of our house.
DECEMBER>>
Southeast Queensland, Monday
December 11 2006, 7.58pm
The witness was standing outside
on his deck and saw a 'star' in the north-east sky at a high
angle of elevation. It moved slowly and disappeared after four
to five seconds. He was alone. He terminated the phone call
before more information could be obtained.
Glen Aplin, Friday December
15 2006, 7.10pm
A woman reported an object that looked
like a clock face at a low elevation to the west. Lights of
various sizes were positioned around the ‘face’ of the
‘clock’. Two days before, about the same time in the evening,
she saw a light for 2 to 3 minutes at an elevation of about 20
degrees which disappeared suddenly.
Glen Aplin, Monday December
18 2006, 7.15pm
The woman who reported the Friday sighting
above observed lights resting on a distant hill to the west.
They changed brightness and she took a number of photographs.
While she was observing the front of her neighbour's house was
lit up. The object was gone by 9.45pm. [Venus?].
Cameron's Pocket, Mackay, Monday December 18 2006, 2.00am
A man observed a bright light to the NNW shoot off and come
back in a cloudless sky. Its elevation varied between 25 and
60 degrees. The light was prominent in the sky and flashing
colours.
Logan City, 20 December
2006, 8:30pm
It was around half past eight or so and I was
out for a stroll around our property in Cornubia when I looked
up into the sky to see the stars. I noticed a glimpse of light
travelling between two trees that separate us from our
neighbour's backyard. From the distance between it and me, I
estimated it was around 400-500 miles away, high in the sky,
just hovering. I stood there being eaten alive by mossies just
watching this thing for more than half an hour. I ended up
dragging my dad off the couch and outside to show him the
bright object and see what he thought. He also thought it
definitely didn't look like a plane or passing satellite. He
took out his telescope and we looked through it. It looked
like a large bright star looking as if it was moving
incredibly slowly up and down and occasionally back and forth,
and seemed to be flashing an array of colours, including white
then blue-orange-green-red.
Toowoomba, December 30 2006
My mother and I sighted orange lights in a haze directly above
our house in Toowoomba. The lights covered the entire
neighbourhood and all the dogs in the district were barking.
Though the object itself was invisible, it made a low humming
sound and moved very slowly over the roof tops. I came out to
see the craft after having an 'abduction' experience in which
I was in a hospital environment - white, clinical, all curved
walls - with two rows of 'people' in crib-like capsules. I
remember seeing a 'man' who I sensed had some connection with
the USA. I was being studied and said at one point 'stop it,
you're hurting my head'. While staying in Toowoomba, I woke up
on several occasions with strange marks on my head, a lump on
my neck two days prior to the sighting, and seeing a vision of
the Earth's destruction and the sensation of symbols being
projected in my mind.
MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS RECEIVED IN 2006>>
Brisbane, December 27 2004
[reported November 2006]
This took place on 27th December
2004 just after night fell on the Brisbane River. I did report
it to several online UFO research sites, but I have only just
found your site. My wife, my two youngest children and I had
just boarded the Pacific Sky cruise ship for a New Year cruise
of the South Pacific. We were standing out on the deck waiting
for the ship to sail, and I was looking over the railings
along the Brisbane River towards the sea [east]. Just then, a
light caught my eye at about 60 degrees elevation heading
towards the airport. It wasn't a plane. It travelled an arc of
about 30-40 degrees northwards, looking more like a cross
between a meteor and a satellite, except that it appeared to
slow a little as it disappeared behind a cloud. It re-emerged
a split second later travelling in the opposite direction and
slightly downwards. That's when I got interested. This time,
it seemed to peter out after another 30-40 degrees southwards,
but I could still see the object very faintly as it once again
came to a very quick stop and reversed. This time it travelled
back towards the airport and disappeared once again behind the
cloud. It didn't reappear. I've never seen a plane, satellite
or meteor do two almost 180-degree turns like that, and the
speed seemed way too fast for a plane or satellite, and not
quite as fast as a meteor. I felt sure that other people would
have seen it too, but on checking for reports when we returned
from our cruise, I found none.
Browns Plains, 2003
[reported April 2006]
In late 2003, October or November,
at Browns Plains around 10.00am at night. I went out for a
smoke as I regularly did of an evening when my two-year-old
was asleep. My husband was working away and I was alone in the
house. As I stood out by the clothesline and looked up I saw
three red-orange lights at what I guess was around 10,000
feet. I often observed airport traffic in a regular flight
path and visual identification was obvious. These lights were
nothing like aircraft and were not even within the normal
flight path. They were to the right of the Southern Cross,
which in the night sky stands out always, and these lights
were much larger and should not have even been there. As I
watched, the lights began moving slowly and forming a
triangular formation. I ran inside to grab the video camera,
but when I tried to record I couldn't see anything through the
viewfinder. I realized it was too dark to pick anything up so
I grabbed the camera, but the photos taken did not come out. I
then phoned a friend in Sydney who I knew would take this
seriously and be my only witness. The lights came closer, I
estimated they were about 12 kilometres away. Four more lights
appeared so that now seven were doing a dance in the night
sky. They were bright orange-red as they lowered to the
tree-line then disappeared below it, only to suddenly rise
again in a perfect triangular formation that they held until
at least 3000 feet. The lights, which were about the size of a
ten cent piece at arms length, began to separate and move off
in different directions. Then all the lights moved west to the
ocean and then went blink, blink, GONE!! This continued until
two were left. These lights just kept going until they
disappeared in the distance. This sighting lasted about 20
minutes, and can be confirmed by my phone call to Sydney at
the time of the incident. I rang Brisbane airport to see why
the normal air traffic had not passed in the last half an hour
and were there any anomalies on radar as I had seen some
unusual lights, They assured me that all traffic was on normal
schedule and that nothing unusual had been reported, Yet I
knew that aircraft crossed at that time as I always observed
it each night, yet no flights crossed the normal flight path
during this whole experience. I then phoned the local police
to see if others had reported this and they said no, so I left
it at that.
One week later I had one
confirmation that a local cabdriver's son had seen strange
lights on this same night. To add to this, two nights later
after the first incident I went out at the same time and
looked up and to my amazement there were two of the same
lights in the same vicinity. They both moved off at a faster
pace east than the previous encounter. One week later once
again the same two lights went from above me to the east and
disappeared. I am compelled to talk of this now as I only
learned a few weeks ago of two other people having the same
sighting at the same time in the same vicinity.
I also saw recently a boomerang
shaped neon blue light crossing the sky at around 11.00pm. It
was a full moon and the light was heading towards the moon at
an altitude of around 30,000 feet. The light vanished quickly
as though the bright moonlight was its camouflage. By
visualizing a normal aircraft at this altitude I estimate that
this craft was enormous, about the size of a football field.
Nanango, 2002 [reported
2006]
I am 63 and four years ago I saw three isosceles
triangle-shaped UFOs. I was in my back garden in early summer
and the sky was not quite dark, just twilight, and I saw in
the western sky at approximately 20 degrees three craft
floating slowly along on a south-north path [magnetic]. They
gave out no exhaust and had no lights and were a steely grey
colour. They were at an approximate height of between 500 to
1000 feet and at a distance of approximately 3000 yards. They
were quite large and at a guess I would say that if you held a
5-cent piece up at arms length you would not cover the lead
ship. The lead ship was in front of and slightly above the
next one and quite close, the third craft was lower and behind
the others by almost 1.5 ship lengths. Prior to this day I
always felt squirmy about talking about what I saw, but now it
seems that I can talk about my sighting of the three UFOs but
not about any of the other UFOs I have seen, Why I do not
know, I hold no fear of UFOs or their occupants should I ever
meet any. I always give out a loving feeling when I see any
craft and I believe that what goes around comes around. I hope
this helps your research.
Ipswich, February 11 2001,
3.00am [reported April 22 2006]
A couple were going to a
party outside Ipswich, got lost and were running out of fuel.
They observed six green lights in long grass and then saw a
UFO hovering above that remained in the same location for 40
minutes. Later they observed a red light then saw something
like the moon bouncing around the sky. As they continued to
look at the object it moved 'straight as an arrow' towards
them at high speed. It was dark metal with a bright orange
glow and underneath it looked like a crustacean similar to a
Moreton Bay Bug. They then saw hundreds more lights in the
grass. As they were driving around looking for a petrol
station they saw a big owl sitting in the middle of the road
and had to slam on their brakes and some time later realised
they were missing 40 minutes.
Rooty Hill, Sydney, 2000/2001
[reported October 2006]
I was outside my friend's house
standing against his fence, doing my business, looking
directly up at the evening sky. It must have been just after
the sun had dropped below the horizon when I saw what appeared
to be a very bright and large shooting star with a long tail.
While I was thinking of something to wish for I noticed that
it was still going, longer than any shooting star I have ever
seen, and slower too. It was moving in a south to north
direction. Once the flames stopped I was amazed to see that it
kept going, and even more amazed that it had now become three
dark balls, with clearly visible silhouettes against the dark
evening sky. They looked attached somehow but I couldn't tell
how, and they stayed in perfect formation until they
disappeared behind the trees. Despite my constant screams of
HEY QUICK COME HERE, everyone I know was too lazy to come out
in time. So now I just feel stupid and don't talk about it
much. It was an exciting 30 seconds or so though.
Red Hill, Brisbane, Saturday
September 30 2000, [reported
November 2006,
confirmation of Red Hill 2000 sighting]
I just want to
say the [Red Hill 2000] report was exactly the same as
what happened to me!!! There were four of us in Red Hill at
8.15pm and it was bullet shaped with five jets smouldering. It
appeared from behind a group of trees and appeared to be
smoking and burning after a steep decent. When it levelled out
it stopped burning and it silently moved toward Mt Enoggera
[west] until it was out of view. The ship had no wings, was
about five metres across the back and ten metres long and
moved at about 50 kilometres an hour.
Albury NSW [reported
November 2005]
A few years ago I had started to notice
lost time very regularly on my way home from work, I would no
sooner have left for the trip home and suddenly I was three
quarters of the way, having no memory of the trip in between
and wondered how in the hell did I go through all those
traffic lights unaware and in a total "day dream." After a
while though it stopped happening -- which brings us about two
years forward. One night while in bed asleep, I had the
weirdest feeling that someone was staring at me. Suddenly to
my surprise I sat bolt upright, not knowing what was going on
and then trying to focus, I turned to look towards my ensuite
door which, was open, and standing there were two figures. I
was thinking in my mind "there's someone standing in the
doorway" and as I focused properly I noticed there were
definitely two figures --- one oddly shaped one standing
behind the other. As I came to this realisation I felt as if I
was forced quickly back on my pillow and my eyes wouldn't
open. In a major panic I was thinking 'oh my god someone's in
the house!' and as much as I tried I couldn't move. nor could
I open my eyes, After a few minutes I managed to peel my eyes
open and lift my body up enough to see the two figures in the
doorway, but then again I was slammed back to my pillow with
my eyes feeling very very heavy. Three times this happened
that night, and each time I fought to get up until the final
time, as then I must have just gone back to sleep. In the
morning when I woke and realised what had happened, I
remembered them being short with unusually long arms and a
slightly rounded unusual torso and large heads, The figure
that stood in the front of the other one was the taller one
but then he was only about four feet five inches to four feet
nine inches tops. Anyway this sort of stirred my scepticism
about aliens and UFOs for a bit and eventually I didn't think
much about it at all, passing it off as a dream.
About a month or two later I
had a "dream" that I had gone out of the sliding doors onto
the patio. I was looking up at the sky [it was night time] and
there were about five UFOs in the sky above our house. I
didn't feel or have any kind of emotion that I can remember, I
was just "there." I then noticed my two small dogs in some
kind of cage that was like not made of metal or wire but like
laser lights. The dogs looked very scared and that's all I
remembered when I woke in the morning I also passed this off
as a weird dream until I made my coffee and sat on the patio
and called my dogs over because they looked shaken. Neither of
them could move -- they both seemed to be paralysed from the
front legs down. My oldest dog was whimpering and crying,
trying to drag herself to me with her front legs and trembling
with fear as was the younger dog, but she couldn't even drag
herself. After about three hours the dogs were beginning to
recover [there is no possible reason they could have been
identically injured during the night] and by lunch time were
walking but still very cautious and shaken. I don't remember
the exact times or dates of these encounters as I didn't
really think it was anything extraterrestrial at the time, but
I do remember that it was in warmer weather due to my
clothing.
I met my friend when I was
about thirteen years old. She lived around the corner from me,
Our younger brothers where born a couple of days apart and our
mothers shared the same hospital room, and we attended the
same catholic girls school. We grew up together, had children,
married etc, and funnily enough we have bought homes around
the corner from each other. We speak every day and see each
other nearly everyday. Now, when all this missing time started
to happen I had mentioned it briefly to her as it was getting
weird, and she told me she had been experiencing it too. We
just passed it off as strange. After the first encounter I had
called my friend and said 'Guess what happened last night.' I
told her the events of the night to which she replied 'Yeah,
you know, I woke up last night for no reason and as I looked
towards my door I saw two figures the same, but I must have
passed out and went back to sleep.' I would also like to say
that weirdly enough we have both gone through stages of
heightened awareness [psychic, clairaudience, seeing auras],
have had precognitive dreams, seen and told people of their
passed loved ones. I wonder if the two are connected. I'm
finding it very hard to look at what I have written with a
non-judgemental pass on even myself.
Also I would like to mention my
eight year old son, who has for a few years had a fascination
with aliens which I have always thought nothing about as he is
an eight year old boy. A few weeks ago he told me he had a
dream about some aliens taking him for a ride with some other
boys all over the place. He went on to say they all had to be
very still and quiet and if anyone talked or moved they had to
go back [showing me the position they had to sit in]. He said
that the brown ones were looking after them and the big tall
white ones where the bosses. I asked "what were they wearing?"
[this story had sparked my interest by now] and he giggled and
said 'Mum they don't wear clothes.' This is all he could
remember, and as I asked bits and pieces during the day the
dream seemed to become a story in the making, so I guess
that's as much as I was going to get from him. Whether it was
in fact a dream or not I don't know but seemed a bit too
uniform if you know what I mean.
The first time I think I saw a
UFO was when I was about 19, We were driving between two
remote towns. I was in the backseat with the driver's two
children, aged then about 8 and 11. My then boyfriend was in
the front passenger side, I was staring out the window to the
paddocks when I saw behind the hill a huge orange ball of
light. I turned to the kids and said 'look at that!' The kids
asked me what it was and I said I don't know and jokingly said
maybe its a UFO! The light was very unusual because it was a
perfectly circular shape and massive! It could not have been a
light reflection nor a fire as the glow was too "perfect" in
colour and shape [hard to describe]. Anyway I had always
noticed even thinking back now that the only ones in the car
to notice it was me and the kids not the other two people in
the front, which was strange as the orange glow was so massive
and out of place that they surely would have commented on it.
I have never seen anything like it since.
Beerwah, 1990s [reported
2006]
For a couple of years I lived in Beerwah, in the
Sunshine Coast hinterland. The area is over-shadowed by Mt.
Tibrogargan, or as the locals call it, Monkey Mountain. At the
time I was working as a hospital wardsman after fifteen years
in the Army. I was coming off shift one night at about 2325,
heading towards the mountain. I was about 15 minutes from home
when a 'light' flew out of the top part of the mountain. It
was moving at a fast speed and then it just stopped about 10
kilometres from the mountain and it stayed there.
I stopped and watched. Four
minutes later [I timed it, old habits] a mass of 'lights' flew
out of the top of the mountain. There were so many that I
could not count them, just a mass of lights. They then started
to form a number of formations, changing from formation to
formation with absolute flawless ease. This 'show', for want
of a better word, continued for eighteen minutes and twenty
seven seconds. They then returned to the mountain and entered
it through a number of different entrances.
I had lived in the town long
enough to know a number of the locals, born and bred there on
the numerous pineapple farms. The next day before going on
shift that night, I told one about what I had seen. I did not
get the reaction that I had expected. ‘Oh, the lights! We've
been seeing them going in and out of the mountain for more
years than I can remember. We don't worry about them now’. He
gave me direct eye contact and said, 'I wouldn't either if I
were you.’ He then turned around and walked away before I
could ask him anything else. I spoke to a number of other long
time residents that morning and apart from the veiled warning,
the stories were just about the same. Lights being seen going
in and out of the mountain for many a year, becoming such a
normal occurrence that hardly anyone took any notice. One
person who had been born in the area and was, I am guessing,
about sixty plus, did tell me that if I had not been known, no
one would have spoken to me about it. They would have laughed
at me as they apparently have done to strangers in the past.
On another occasion after the
first episode, I arrived home at 2350. As I got out of the car
I looked up. The night sky was a mass of stars, more stars
than I had ever seen, they looked out of place and yet they
were no brighter than the other stars in the night sky. After
three minutes and eight seconds one part of the sky 'blacked'
out, leaving only the usual stars. Ninety seconds later, the
other part of the sky 'blacked' out, again leaving the usual
night sky. This time I did not go around asking questions.
Once bitten twice shy. Also, fifteen years in the Army taught
me when to keep my mouth shut. I know nothing of your
organisation, I read about in today's Sunday paper. I don't
know if you know about 'Monkey Mountain' but a lot of the
locals certainly do, enough not to be afraid of it but to
respect it and to protect it from outsiders.
Toowong, 1998 [reported May
2006]
While travelling home from work at Toowong one night
on the train, between Milton and Roma Street stations I
sighted a large object hovering horizontal in the sky to the
east over the Brisbane River/Coronation Drive. It was long and
rectangular in shape, flat matt grey in colour, and looked
similar to a large steel girder that would be used on a
building site. There were no cranes or construction nearby,
and it was not suspended from anything that I could see. At
first I thought it must have been a reflection on the train's
window, but when I cupped my hands either side of my head and
pressed my face against the glass, I could see it was
definitely there and approximately 100-200 metres away. It was
dusk and around early autumn, around 6.00-6.30pm. I
continued to watch it as the train progressed towards Roma
Street, and it remained hovering off the ground at a height of
about 100m. It did not move off, but did rotate slightly
approximately 45 degrees, and I eventually lost sight of it as
the train moved off. I've always wondered what it was, and as
it was not that far off peak hour, did anyone else notice it,
as the few other passengers in my train carriage didn't seem
to notice.
Manly 1996/1997 [reported
May 5 2006]
A woman reported a number of sightings that
she's had over the years. She moved to Brisbane from Sydney
ten years ago and her first Brisbane sighting was in 1996 at
Manly looking east over the Bay. She awoke and saw a 'star' in
the sky moving around. In 1997 at Springbrook she saw one
light followed by another. Over the next two nights she saw
six lights move about similar to her Manly sighting. She
wondered if maybe she had something to do with 'them'? At age 14 in Sydney she was
walking home after sunset and saw 'something'. She had an
'eerie feeling' just before these sightings. In addition to
seeing objects over water, she has also seen one landed in a
park.
Everton Hills, 1995-1997
[reported January 2006]
I've decided to write about an
experience I and an old friend had some time ago. I'm not sure
of the exact date or year to be honest, but never the less
would like to know what you think as the experience stirs in
my mind from time to time.
Around 1995-1997, between
7.30-11.00pm, a friend was driving me home to Everton Hills,
Brisbane. We were pulling into the driveway when I noticed
some lights in the sky to our left. We stopped the car and got
out and were able to witness at least seven or eight lights
travelling south-south-east right towards and over what seemed
to be the centre of Brisbane city. It all lasted about a
minute. They burnt bright white and travelled horizontally
with large, white, thick tails dragging behind them. They were
in no pattern that we noticed and seemed to be not a lot
higher in altitude than Everton Hills, where we were viewing
them from. The white trailing tails they sported were like
very large and long white bed sheets, wispy to a point, but
the tails spread out like that of a comet-tail goldfish [best
way I can describe it] and were quite out of proportion. The
main detail of interest that sticks in my mind is that the
objects I could clearly see were catching up to one another
then dropping back, over and over, randomly between the seven
or so. I believed we had seen UFOs, which I've been dreaming
of witnessing my whole life. In the paper the next day it was
reported that an asteroid had broken up over the city. I
immediately thought that was a load of crap. Don't meteors and
asteroids travel at an angle towards the ground and how can
parts increase and decrease in speed? Does anyone else
remember this incident? I'd love to compare notes.
Orange [NSW] 1994 [reported
September 2006]
This sighting occurred in late 1994. I
don't remember the exact date. I lived on a property just
outside of Molong, approximately 34 kilometres from Orange.
Our house was on top of a hill, with a clear view from the
front verandah that you could see the lights of Orange from at
night. But this event happened in broad daylight. There is a
quarry about a kilometre, as the crow flies from the house,
and the top of it is in clear sight from the verandah. Out of
the corner of my eye, I noticed ‘it’. Hovering above the
quarry was a disc, covered with a silver-grey mist. I first
thought it was a cloud. Then as my attention focused I
realized it was something more. I jumped up and hurried to the
window for a better look. The quarry is about 150 metres wide
and the object covered most of it. My heart leapt into my
mouth as I said aloud ‘Holy sh#t, that thing's real!’ I flung
open the door and ran out into the front yard for an even
better look, and as I got to the fence the object shot
straight up into the air and disappeared from view. In 1997, I
was living in Penrith. It was late at night and I was seeing
some friends off out the front. I looked up and saw what I
thought was a satellite passing over. I pointed it out to my
friends. As we were all looking at it, it stopped and then
changed directions. It continued to zigzag about the sky for
about five minutes. I even had time to fetch my neighbours to
look as well. Eventually it just sort of faded from view.
Marlborough 1992/93, evening
[reported 2006]
A woman and her family lived and worked on
a cattle station and had gone to Rockhampton to shop. They
were returning at night and saw a light below them while
driving over a range. The light then passed over them and
seemed the size of a dinner plate. As they approached home, a
man walked out onto the track in front of them, and next
moment the light was there. She next remembers arriving at
their bungalow very tired, and decided to leave the groceries
in their vehicle and go straight to bed. Her partner refused
to talk about the incident. She has had encounters since.
Ravenswood, Central
Queensland, 1991 [reported December 2006]
I wish to report
a sighting of a Min-Min light between the Burdekin Dam and
Ravenswood. It was in May or June 1991. There were five of us
in the car. We all worked at the Coutts Burdekin Wilderness
Lodge and were on our way to Townsville for a night out. The
light followed the car, through the trees for about fifteen
minutes. It looked like a car headlight. At first it was
behind us on the left hand-side, then it caught up to us and
overtook us, then went across in front of the car and was
travelling beside us on the right hand-side. It then seemed to
slow and the last we saw it, it was directly behind the car
and further back. We were all quite frightened at the time and
trying to explain what it could be. What I found most strange
is that the incident was never really discussed again between
us, even though we lived and worked together. The wilderness
lodge closed down at the end of June and we all lost contact.
I have thought about the incident many times since and I would
be a sceptic if I hadn't witnessed the phenomena for myself.
Glass House Mountains, date unknown [reported March 12 2006]
Some years ago my
wife and I witnessed a UFO in our area at the Glass House
mountains. It was from our veranda in the early night time.
Looking towards the north from Mayricks Road towards Mt
Coonowrin or Crook Neck, it was a large body of light which
moved upwards from the western side of the mountain and then
moved sideways west towards Mt Beerwah and out of sight to us.
We are both quite sure that what we saw was a UFO and no other
type of usual air craft.
1989, 1.15am [reported
August 2006]
The witness was in bed when a bright,
electric blue/white light appeared outside his front window.
It rose and then shot off. Electric power in the house went on
and off, but there was no noise. The street lights had dimmed
and came back slowly to full strength.
Gumdale 1984 [reported
January 2006]
At the time I was living on acreage at
Gumdale Brisbane. We were having a barbecue in the back yard,
with several people there, when I saw, flying low and slowly
in the direction of the garage on the corner, a red disc with
greenish lights, It was moving much too slowly to be a plane.
There was no noise and it suddenly increased speed and shot
away at great speed. I puzzled about it for days after, then I
got the little local paper and saw the attached article. I cut it out and have kept it ever since. Someone from
your organisation was recently on the ABC radio talking about
the subject, so I thought I would pass on the article to you.
Tieri, Central Queensland,
1982-83 [reported November 2006]
In about 1982 or '83 my
family moved to a new mining town called Tieri which is about
one hour north-east of Emerald. At the time there was no
street lighting so the night sky was very clear. At about 7.00
or 8.00 in the evening I was riding my bike down the street
not far from my home. For some reason I looked up at the sky
and saw what I thought was a very bright satellite moving
across the sky. It moved at a steady almost satellite-like
speed, but then began doing perfect and seemingly random 90
degree turns in the sky. It did this for about 10-15 seconds
and then shot off and disappeared.
Rockhampton, 1973 [reported
November 2006]
Have you any reports of UFO activity over
Rockhampton around 1973? I was in the army at the time on the
original Kangaroo 1 exercise. We saw some really strange
sightings over three nights. At the time I think it was the
biggest peace-time international military exercise since WW2.
We heard a lot of radio traffic from Rocky airport relating to
the activity of these strange craft, which our unit could not
explain - they were not supposed to be there at the time. The
military have probably hidden any evidence, but you may be
able to track down a former air traffic controller of the
time. [If anybody has heard or knows anything more about these
events please contact us - PP]
Atlantic Ocean, 1974
[reported January 2006]
I was watching Dr. Kitei this
morning on a program on television and she was discussing the
Phoenix Lights. I have been telling the same story to my
family and friends for years, but had never heard anyone that
had ever seen the same thing that I had in 1974. I was a
Signalman in the U.S. Navy and we were about 300 miles into
the Atlantic on our way to Europe when late at night we saw
three orange orbs off of our port bow. We were moving about
fifteen knots and the orange orbs stayed perfectly with us for
about 30 minutes and then disappeared, only to reappear again
later that evening. I ran down to the radar room and asked the
radar-men if they had anything on radar and they did not. The
radar-men came out and observed the same thing, but they never
saw anything on the radar. The Lieutenant on deck at the time
observed it too. When you're at sea at night it is extremely
dark so they glowed quite brightly, but it was difficult to
judge the distance. They made no sound at all and they seemed
to stay exactly with the ship, like they were observing us,
and we never saw them again. Today was the first time I had
ever heard anyone tell the same story.
Eight Mile Plains, 1971
[reported July 2006]
A woman, now 47 years old, awoke to
find two circles in vegetation straddling their family
property and that of a neighbour, when she was 12. It struck
her that her father and his neighbour said nothing about it to
each other.
New Guinea, 1966/68, evening
[reported 2006]
A woman was returning home with her family
after seeing an open air movie in Poppendetta. A large, bright
disk-shaped object hovered over their station- wagon. They
stopped and turned their vehicle lights off. They saw windows
all around the upper surface of the disk. There was a
reverberation and the object suddenly sped off.
Brisbane, 1970s [reported
May 18 2006]
A man reported that thirty years ago his car
was followed for two hours by an object surrounded by a green
glow and displaying green and red navigation lights. It shone
back when spotlighted. This happened in the Brisbane area
[exact location not given] and there were eight witnesses. He
has been warned by the authorities to be silent. He had wanted
to make contact and had driven out of town.
Windaree [VIC], 1965
[reported May 8 2006]
On Christmas Eve 1965 a man was
walking across a paddock at 3.00-4.00am at Windaree near
Ballarat, Victoria. It was pitch black and he thought he saw a
little star moving like a satellite to the east overhead. When
its angle of elevation was about 45 degrees it performed a
right angle turn to the right. Recently he saw something on TV
which prompted him to report his sighting.
Salisbury,
37 years ago, 11.00pm [reported February 9 2006]
A man and a woman were
driving in a car on Lillian Avenue, Salisbury [a suburb of
Brisbane] when they observed a saucer-like object in the sky.
It seemed larger than a house and was hovering about 100
meters above nearby buildings. The object had an outer ring of
lights moving one way and an inner ring moving the other way.
They stopped and observed the object for two to three minutes,
pinching themselves to check they weren't dreaming. They were
observing the object through the driver's window and decided
to drive to the end of the street and return on the other side
to gain a closer view. They proceeded along the avenue and
turned around only to discover the object had disappeared. The
man reported that he would not have believed it had he not
seen it himself and feels an unresolved anger about the
matter. The woman has not been willing to talk about the
incident since.
