Booval,
Sunday July 23 2000, 7.42pm
A witness observed an orange/yellow
oval shaped object moving slowly across the sky without making
any noise at 800-1000 feet. The object did a 90 degree turn and “took off”. The duration of the sighting was about 10
minutes. The above report was published in the Hervey Bay
Chronicle. A witnesses’ version of this incident is: “I looked
up above the house and saw something the size of a light
aircraft. It was a yellow/orange/red colour with flames around
it and bright enough to make me squint. I thought it was the
after burner of an F111. At the same time I noticed that there
were no sounds, no insect noises, you could hear a pin drop.
This lasted for 5 to 10 minutes. I ran to get the video camera
and recorded as the object made a very fast 90 degree turn. It
shot out 100 yards and then returned to its original course
and eventually disappeared. When it disappeared I could hear
the crickets again. I watched it for about 10 minutes. It was
a still night and there was no smell of fuel. I live on acreage, and there are no city lights. Visitors there at the
time did not want anything to do with it, and they left
quickly. I was in the army and I have seen flares and mortars.
I have also lived next to an airfield, and I have seen weather
balloons. This was nothing like them. When I viewed the video,
I slowed down the tape and I could see something solid.”
Woolloongabba, Brisbane Thursday July 27 2000, 5.50pm

lights were switched off. The apparent size of the lights was
less than a 5 cent coin at arms length.

observed a triangular shaped black cloud which looked like a 3
sided inverted pyramid in the SE sky. Out of the bottom left
hand corner they saw a red frigate shaped object sticking out
of it. The object was about one km away from them making a
weird harmonic sound like a fishing-line wind harp. It went
from left to right in the sky. The witnesses walked to the
beach to get a better look and saw a shooting star that made a
pinging noise. At the same time the cloud dissipated in the
sky leaving a square white cloud in a grid pattern. The caller
said he has a lot of information in his head that he doesn't
know where it came from, yet he described himself as being
quite unknowledgeable.
Sinnamon
Park, Brisbane, Thursday
August 31 2000, 7.30pm
An observer saw a
yellow flame to the north and he wondered if he was seeing an F1-11 with its afterburner on. The object came closer but there
was no noise. It passed overhead at an estimated height of 500
metres. The man's wife also saw the object that seemed to be
moving towards the city with little pieces falling off
descending towards the ground extinguishing in mid air. The
object started to vary in brightness, got dimmer and was lost
to view. It was seen for 3 to 4 minutes and was also observed
with binoculars. The witness saw what looked like flames but
no associated object. These flames were elongated just as
you'd expect the afterburner flame to be. It moved in a
straight line with an apparent length of 4cm at arm's length
and a thickness of ½ cm. He telephoned Amberley air base and
Brisbane airport and Brisbane told him they had nothing on radar. The sky was clear.

same part of the sky. Two or three of the lights came towards

A couple were in
their parked vehicle in Kaunda Park looking out over water and
saw an object the shape and size of a 44-gallon drum, red with
a white band around its middle. It seemed to be floating in water about 20 meters away until they noticed that the water
was quite choppy, but the object was not bouncing around. They
turned on their car headlights for a better look, but the beam
did not engage the object directly. The object then sped off
above the water and at some distance it then shot up and
disappeared in 5 to 10 seconds. The witness reporting was
frustrated and annoyed at not knowing what they had seen even after contacting several relevant authorities.

flashes were as bright as strobe lights and lasted about one

bright flashes there were 2 dim ones and then nothing further

sky was clear. The flashes stood out against the starry
background.

side window and saw 8 lights shining on the landscape and in the sky. The lights were 200 metres away and keeping pace with
his car whilst he travelled. He stopped the car and when he did
so the lights also stopped. Thinking they were a reflection from his car he walked all around his car and could not see
anything reflecting. He drove off and when he pulled into his

MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS RECEIVED IN 2000>>
The following
was received via email in July 2000:
Good morning. I
just had to write this down, so I know that I didn't imagine
it. Yesterday, I was taking a picnic lunch up to Binny who was
working up at Wakes Lagoon - which is about 60km north of our
house. Anyway, it was 11:10am and I was on the road near the
airstrip, [Adavale] - which means I was heading west - when right in front of me came something down from the sky - it was
falling really fast, and looked like metal disintegrating and
was so bright that I had to close my eyes and stop the car.
[of course I stopped the car first] Darcy saw it too and was
very excited - at first I thought it was going to cross on the
road ahead of me - like a whirly wind sometimes does - then I
thought we would hear a big bang when it hit the ground, but I
guess it burnt up before it impacted because it got to the
tree line on the other side of the airstrip and ... well...
nothing - it vanished. I was tempted to drive over to where I
saw it go down, but I was running late and I figured whatever
it was would still be there when we got back. Then we got back
very late last night, so I missed it in the dark. When I got
to Wakes and discussed it with some others, we decided that it
could have been a shooting star - because that is not unheard
of, but it was so fast and the streak was so bright - it was,
I'm sure like metal burning up and disintegrating. Has anybody
mentioned a missing satellite lately? Who can I ask? Anyone
got the number of the FBI Unexplained phenomenon's? This is a
job for Mulder & Scully! Really bizarre!
In a further
message, the witness stated: The man who reported it to the
ABC Longreach Radio lives about 200km north of us and if he
said it went down 100-200metres from him, it must have been a
very long way away for both of us, unless we saw two separate
parts of the same broken up ...thing... I'm surprised to hear
that the report made it to the city.
[There were
other similar reports of this sighting on ABC radio news
Longreach with other witnesses some distance from each other,
and all stating that the object was very close to them.
Further, a Courier-Mail article explained the
occurrences as a meteor shower. Alert readers will have
noticed in our Sightings section a number of sightings around
the 7th and 8th of July. Coincidence…? - PP]
Surfers
Paradise, some years ago
A man reported that on a night
some years ago, on the beach he saw red blue and green lights
on a triangular shape about 100 feet above him which had the
colour of a stealth fighter. There were other people on the
beach and the object made no noise. He could not seem to take
any kind of action and felt “mellow”. However he did note from
his watch that the episode lasted 30 to 45 minutes.
Aspendale,

saw a circular objects with lights around it about 150 yards

whereupon it flew away over the sea. The object seems to have
come down to the ground in several places because there were
found places near the sighting where vegetation ceased
growing. The sighting had been reported to the Victorian UFO
Society.

[reported 2000]
The witness remembers a
sighting which he witnessed with 8 other children at Milperra.
They were at a bar-b-que on semi-rural land and it was after
midnight. The object was reported in the media and had left a
huge mark on the Bankstown golf course about half a mile away.
He did not see this mark [a circle of flattened grass] but saw
a photo of it. The object changed size in an instant while
being observed by him.
